  1. Already have Lorax, Preston, and Ragland. Where does Zach fit into this scheme?

ARe the Bills keeping the 3-4 or is Ragland going to take another year to come back?

Zach is better than all those options. Lorax will be a situational guy, and Preston is trash. Who knows about Ragland.

  2. Not going to lie, I thought the same thing.

The Bills are doing things to show they are committed to the run, why not really prove it?

McCoy doesn't get that many carries for being a true number one RB. Having each guy run the ball 15 times a game doesn't even seem that farfetched.

I'm sure Peterson wouldn't mind running behind the best rushing O line group in the NFL.

    Bottom line.... IT SELLS TICKETS.

I see no harm in trying to get him here, I don't think the "contender" really want him. This is a QB league. The contenders usually have the best QBs and don't want to deal with a guy who wants the rock a lot.

  3. I still don't understand how the richest sports league in the world can figure out how to play 45 mins straight without a commercial, but sports in America (besides soccer) are constantly interrupted by dumb ads.

I would rather see an ad on a jersey or next to the scoreboard, than have to stop the game for 2 and half mins. I barely watch commercials, end up changing channel or scrolling through phone.

  4. I feel like some people have forgotten what our Linebackers played like before Zach Brown came here.

Zach Brown is an above average LB in this league. That is not easy to find, which was evident since Fletcher and T.Spikes left.

It is critical to get him back so we can close a need before the draft.

People love to say he missed 14 tackles. The dude had 149 tackles. Less than 10% of his tackles were missed. So he has a 90% tackle rate. I wish every player on our made the play 90% of the time.

  5. Taking a CB in the first round would be another management failure. You fail to lock up a starting CB longterm and the first off-season he leaves you spend a top 10 pick on that same position? More spinning wheels. I don't deny that it is a need, but boy does it look bad for management.

You are 100% correct. All I heard was that since we are playing zone, CB isn't as important now therefore it's stupid to pay all that money for Gilmore. You can't say that then sit there and draft one 10 overall. Not to mention when the cap hit of Gilmore this year is less than what his cap hit was last year. If CB is such a need in this defense, you should have signed Gilmore.

  6. You don't take the 3rd rated prospect at a position just because it is a need.

What I mean is that Hooker and Adams are probably gone, so you are not taking a safety.

In terms of CB, there isn't much high end talent. The 2nd rated guy isn't much difference than the 5th rated guy. I am also scared of Lattimore. I have heard some things about him that scare me (personal choice decisions). In such a deep draft, you are better waiting.

It would be really nice to get another 2nd round pick and be able to get a safety and CB. There are just so many options in the 2nd that could start right away.

  7. Ittakestime has never felt worse about this team than right now! I guess we should all just give up and start doing yard work on Sundays!

What a joke, I bet his friends tell him to stop being so negative all the time.

We have a lot of the same pieces from last year, a new coach, a draft coming up, and we have averaged 8 wins a year the last three years. The sky is not falling, in fact now is the time to be optimistic.

Ittakestime, If you want to provide real analysis on our cap situation, or free agents you think we should get, or draft picks that you like, please let us know. But your pessimistic shtick is getting real old.

    Same pieces from last year??

We were a 6 win team (Go ahead and count the Bradyless Pats win if you want to feel better).

From a 6 win team, we lost our starting corner, our starting LB, our starting WR, and our starting safety.

We have a tougher schedule and brought back the QB associated with a bottom 2 passing game.

What real analysis do want in terms of the cap? Just go to spotrac and see our cap-talent ratio in terms of the top teams in the NFL.

I'm sure your the Bills fan that continues to buy seasons after 17 straight seasons without the playoffs.

  8. Looks like you were very wrong on this

    How was I very wrong?

The only thing I was wrong about is how cheap Whaley was going to go. He didn't end up in Buffalo due to not offering more money. A guy coming off an injury is going to take the most guaranteed money he can. We didn't even go higher than a million guaranteed. Pitiful. Why even bring him on a visit?

  9.

That you can post these two statements back-to-back tells me that you have no idea what you're talking about...restructuring those three makes what is a very promising 2018 cap situation much less palatable.

    Huh??

If the 2018 situation is so promising, you would restructure the above players to get more cap this year. If these are good players you want on your team for the total contract, you just continue to push the cap hits forward. Exactly what NE does with Brady.

The Bills created such a mess this year, and don't even know how to structure deals to get themselves out of it. Overdorf and Whaley are absolute terrible contract organizers. It makes me sick to see all these teams with more talent than us have all this cap room. They have this cap room because they don't lock themselves into deals like Clay, Dareus, McCoy, etc. They create out clauses that allows for cuts with little dead cap.

Also, the 2018 cap is not as good as you think. Still overpaying for guys like Clay, McCoy, Glenn and Dareus with no way of getting out because the dead cap is so large. We then will need to cut Richie because his cap hit is ridiculous. Wood has no contract and Kyle has no contract. Watkins technically has no contract and his option is like 11 million. This team will lose a ton a talent and have a ton of players way overpaid. There are only so many draft pick.

Could be hard to be on top of your game when you hardly get to play? Kind of which came first the chicken or the egg?? Did he not play enough to stay focused or did he not play because he wasn't good enough. We shall see.

Great, then why not find a new team and new message board to post too. Why add to your misery by posting things and constantly being reminded how bad things are?

It is an addiction. Crack kills, but there are still a ton of people that abuse it.

I literally frickin hate the way this team operates, but it is not easy to just abandon all these years of history and memories.

  10. The majority of posters have actually said he will be our 3rd, 4th or 5th Wr. But you would have actually had to read this whole thread to know that. Holmes is 28, he's 6 foot 5 and was buried on the raiders depth chart behind better receivers. He has had some decent production when used and he can contribute on special teams too. Bringing up Mario Williams instead of providing any real insight or analysis just shows the kind of posts you like to make.

Since we are asking ridiculous questions why do you feel the need to sign your name at the bottom of every trivial post?

The Raiders buried Holmes on the depth chart because he wasn't good enough. Holmes was on the team and the Raiders went out and got two real WR (Crabtree, Cooper). That is why the Raiders are the only team that will challenge the Patriots in the AFC, and we are here debating Andre Holmes.

I have honestly never felt worse about this team. There future is 5-11, with no QB and a salary cap mess in which we don't have qualified leadership to get out of.

If the Bills were serious about winning, Dareus, Clay and Wood would have been restructured already.

If they were serious about starting over, Kyle, McCoy, Tyrod and Richie would have all been gone.

The future is the same as it ever was.

  11. Man, if you watched this kid when he came in, he looked every bit as solid as Woods. Watch the tape!

I would cut bait with Woods now or see if you can trade him for something and use that cash on a position of need, perhaps another DB or maybe bring Zach a brown back. Just saying...

Woods isn't even on this team.

  12.

Why are they even bothering with the visit then?

    You tell me.

Why did they bring in Andre Smith for a visit?

I've seen this story way too many times in Buffalo. A player that would help this team at a position on need is brought in for a visit, or we hear there is interest, and at the end of the day, there really was no chance because we are playing checkers while everyone else players chess.

  13. This post would do absolutely nothing to help your credibility on this site.

Come on man, we need receivers. This guy has good size and could easily be one of our top 5 WRs.

Good thing I am not looking for credibility on a message board with people I don't even know.

It just drives me nuts to see some of the nonsense that people say. The only team signing Holmes would be acceptable as getting help to an embarrassment of talent at a position, is in Buffalo. The same fanbase that thought Hunter could fill any type of role. We were told Salas would do something. Counting on Goodwin to help out. It goes on and on about trying to get junk to somehow be a reliable option.

Andre Holmes managed 14 catches each of the last two seasons with Derek Carr (a top 10 QB in league). Oakland was also ran a more passing based offense.

During Holmes career in Oakland, they went out and got Crabtree. They then drafted Cooper first round. That should tell you how much confidence they had in Holmes.
