    And how about Kent Hull?

He was the anchor on an outstanding offensive line for years.

I will always remember Will Wolford talking to the media after a game from the locker room.  A critical Kent Hull holding penalty was being discussed and Will said something like "Believe me, Kent doesn't hold" as if to say there is no way it could have been a good call b/c in Wolford's mind, Hull literally did not hold, like ever....b/c he just didn't need to.

Coming from a guy as good as Wolford that is high praise.

I don't think Kent will get into the HOF, but he should!

I completely agree. I am shocked and amazed to this day that he isn’t already in the Hall of Fame.

  2. The only thing that doesn’t make the OP crazy is the rookie salary cap. Even then, the event is very unlikely. First of all the bills would have to have a naturally high draft pick or have an easy path to getting one without giving up much. More importantly, for this to occur there has to be a generational prospect available. I don’t follow college football that closely. But I haven’t heard of any such prospect.

If Allen truly bombs out to the point where it is clear by the end of the season that the Bills made a big mistake. They would likely seek out a somewhat if not moreso established free-agent quarterback. It’s going to be interesting!

When are the Bills going to cut Nathan Peterman? This guy has no business in the NFL!!! He almost cost the Bills a playoff birth and he now is about to derail the season.  He has proved to us that he is not ready for the NFL!!! Let cut ties with him and put this mistake behind us!!!

It’s a fair question from the OP. But make no mistake about it, Tyrod Taylor nearly cost us a playoff berth. To me, this is not even a debatable issue.

Got that right.   Anybody that compares any QB from Favre's era to today's crop looses enormous credibility...

Not at all true.  That “era” isn’t that long ago.  Farve and Allen may or may not be similar QB’s but the “different era” argument is bogus. QB’ing is fundamentally the same now as in Farve’s time!

  5. Rosen’s “personality” issues were non-issues as far as the bills are concerned. That had nothing to do with their choice. Think about it, if they felt that he was the best quarterback available to lead them to a Super Bowl they’re going to take him regardless of the “personality” issues.

The whole choice was based, simply, and who is positives and potentials they like the best. Rosen is a terrific prospect and may end up being great. The same is true for Allen. They just liked Allen’s positives better. That’s it!

    • Short strider with longer torso
    • Production over four seasons was abysmal
    • Never came close to reaching athletic potential and struggled to find meaningful snaps until senior season
    • Drifts towards coverage out of route stems
    • Football instincts are below average
    • Converts on a low percentage of opportunities relative to his position
    • Gives away pattern breaks down the field allowing for easier coverage
    • Falters in his stack and track on deep throws
    • Fumbled three times on 37 touches over last two seasons

I am sure this is all correctable with a good coaching.

Well, for years I have seen many saying we had great drafts, heck one time we even were the "self-described" winners of the off-season, and all of that resulted in bupkiss.

Meanwhile, Goff, Wentz, Cam Newton, Jaemis, Mariotta, Mahomes were all risky/bad prospects that teams "reached" for.

Grading a draft directly afterwards is like pulling out and then telling her "it's a girl". And you don't even know if she's preggo yet.

So. Now you’re playing the usefulness card!

Is it possible he isn't done growing? Another inch or two and he'd be almost 6'7. I have never seen an ILB that tall. Not sure if that'd effect the way he'd be able to shed blocks or anything like that. He'd be like Groot on passing downs though, in the middle of that cover 2.

Ted Hendricks Baltimore Colts was a 6’7” beast. I think he’s in the HOF

Take your mind out of the gutter there for a minute....  I meant to the front office when it comes to quarterbacks.

It seemed the powers that be liked Allen as did the commenters on NFL network because he's big and strong and could throw in the Buffalo winters.  Using this logic we skipped on Russell Wilson.

Dont get me wrong hoping and rooting for Allen to succeed and aren't putting down the pick.  However, they had their faults but arguably Flutie and Tyrod were the best 2 QBs since Jimbo

Yes, size has always “matterd“It’s not the only thing that matters, but all things being equal, in this sport it’s better to be bigger than smaller.

Are you kidding with the second part of your post? F are you kidding with the second part of your post? Flutie was overrated  and Taylor was completely horrific. Taylor, as an NFL quarterback, is a coward, a loser and a choker.

Have you considered you may just be better to let things roll off your back a little more?  Microaggressions, trigger warnings, all of that is just too much.  Gil Brandt is Gil Brandt. If you don't want to hear him change the channel.

Seriously. You would think that Gil has a six decade history of racially insensitive behaviors.

I know right?  Because that is what wins SuperBowls!

Just one small piece of a very talented pie. You and some others seem to think that Rosen is a slam dunk HOFer.   His flaws are well known and documented. Sounds like even the Cardinals wanted Allen but had to settle for a consolation prize. I would have been happy to have Rosen, also. However, we have Allen. His upside is enormous and, as you and I both know, most experts and prognosticators had him as a better prospect.

So what are you and the other Allen haters going to do now, root for him to fail?
