  1. At this moment, Tyrod is way better against "NFL Defenses" - like Bama's.

All said, like the Bills, Clemson needs to but refuses to - take a deep shot to to loosen up the D. Especially in this case where the refs are Big 12 refs. Over/under on PI calls once I heard that is like 14. Just get it deep. Make them at least defend it.

Bills were terrible at that this season. Win the Ravens game of they did it.

  2. Didn't Dak Prescott play 4 years. Just watched Jerod Evans highlights. Looks similar to Dak for sure. Even rocks the #4

I think he meant there's a lot of data out there that shows 4-year players have a much better chance of NFL success than ones who leave early or only played a couple years.

Evans' game is very similar to Dak's. Protects the ball (only 5 picks), throws well on the run, very durable (6'3" 238). He went to the same JuCo that Cam Newton went to - one of the outliers of successful NFL QB's with only one year of experience in D1a football.

He'll get some looks. Might be that steal in the 5th or 6th rd.

  3. He also got pantsed by Brady in oct. The guy who said the news is a pro fwiw.

I know you love TT but you might have to love him elsewhere next season.

Will definitely follow him but Bills are #1. Was a cool 2-year run having him on my NFL team.

Related subject, VT QB declared for the draft this week as a Junior.

Jerod Evans of VT could possibly be the Dak of this draft.

6'3" 238. Re-wrote VT passing records (Tyrod mostly).

In one season (he was a JuCo transfer):

    64% completion %

    3300 yds

    37 total TD (10 rushing)

    5 int

    759 rushing 4.2 avgpc

All close to or better than DeShaun Watson.

Check him out - very very cool customer.

  4. Biggest positions of need, DB's and WR, are the strongest in this draft class.

Lynn installs HIS O scheme with Shady, Clay, TT and Watkins - Offense will be better.

Hire a real DC (Rob Ryan was grotesquely bad) and the D improves. Ragland returns so that's like a "free" 2nd rd LB.

Add 2 Top Rookie Safeties and 2 top rookie WR in the draft and I see 10 wins easily.

Use remaining picks to build depth on the OL and - as always - try to hit on a franchise QB.

  5. Is it not correct that each team must interview one minority? Just saying

He's up and coming and got his break in Buffalo.

All said, in the 2016/7 offseason, this post is the answer. No racist.

He was a RB coach when the season began in Sept 2016.

It's OK to think and believe:

    1. He's a minority and there is a real rule.

    2. He's a viable 1 game head coach (REAL hard to defend) and real good 14 game OC.

    3. He's a great personality and fits with your organization goals.

All at the same time. Cuz that's what's up. And it's OK.

  6. Tyrod is okay, which is better than we've had in forever.

    He's a 50/50 keep/cut case already.

One thing he does control is whether he allows his agent to reneogiate and take a pay cut.

    FIFY

Tyrod is still too young to care about $ himself. Just wants to win and build his reputation. It's his agent's job to be sure he isn't taken advantage of given this motivation.

All Bills fans - TT supporters of his play on the field or not - should be happy we have this professional, highly talented young man trying with all his heart to win - for us and his teammates.

That he was upset about not playing against the Jets is 100 % to do with that desire - not $.

  7. Fvck Polian. May have a HOF Jacket but so does Kelly.

He can no longer GM [the Bills] a much as Kelly can no longer play QB for the Bills - he's paid now to do nothing run his mout for $ and generate controversy.

The right coach and Whaley can take this trash - with the Pegulas, TT and Shady and Sammy and Kyle Williams and Corey Graham - and turn all this negativity into bulletin board material . .I've seen this type of thing happen at my own work. New Leader came in and made us great - again.

With the right coach and draft, this team is close enough to be the Bully Rex tried to build.

  8. I agree. They are doing what should have been done when Marrone quit. People are mad for two reasons now:

    1. The optics are terrible. Someone posted that all this would be fine if Pegula had simply discussed this the day of the firing or even the Wednesday before Anthony Lynn gave his PC. That is true. Maybe they don't care how it looks, but I think they owe it to the fan base to at least not LOOK like a dysfunctional mess.

    2. We've had two more years of underwhelming Doug Whaley drafts and seemingly poor contract decisions to have any faith in his ability to find a good coach moving forward or set a plan for success in motion.

Those are legitimate reasons to be pissed as Bills fans.

Our 2016 draft was very highly graded - even by the "experts" on here.

Ragland being in danger of injury was known and with his return this (2017) year it will feel like we have 2 second rounders.

I expect us to actually be good on D in 2017. Fron 7 talent is there. Need talented DB's. Draft is full of them.

  9. My take is this:

I read where Whaleys choice for the position was Hue Jackson. In fact I read somewhere that Hue pretty much thought he had the job and was surprised when Rex was named. Also read where Russ Brandon made the comment to "not let Rex leave the building" before Ryan was named. The Pegulas have also spoken how Rex wowed them and within the first several minutes of their conversation they knew Rex was the right choice.

Thus, I believe that Rex wasn't Whaleys Final choice. But between Pegulas own opinion as well as influence from Russ Brandon the Pegulas made the decision (based on Whaleys comments today obviously without his total blessing) to hire Rex. To make this work the Pegulas also had Rex report to them to ensure that Whaley couldn't do anything to make this choice not work.

Sitting in the pressbox with ownership this year you know Whaley was hammering Rex on his failures and poor decision making. As a man you know he had an "I told you so" attitude towards the Pegs.

So finally the Pegulas realized that they messed up, and it was in Their best interest to finally allow Doug to actually do his job and act like a GM and lead the search. So now it will be Whaley who brings the candidate to the owners. Granted, they still have to sign off on the choice. But I have a strong feeling that Whaleys reccommenstion will be taken a lot stronger than when Rex was hired, and the final choice will be more about what he thinks and not what the Pegs think. I also believe that Brandon will not be involved in this process like last time so he won't be able to Sabatoge Whaleys choice like he did with Ryan.

it will be made clear to candidates that Whaley is the man who you need to impress, and he will probably have more power over the coach than he had with Rex.

It comes across that it was dysfunctional before, but now that Whaley is more in control it's gotten back to the dynamic where the GM is the decision maker, not a green owner and president who is more a marketer. To me that makes it less dysfunctional because Whaleys choice would have left Schwartz as our D.C. Which I think with Hue who knows how that would have worked out.

I believe Whaley has done a great job building this roster and I believe this is a winning franchise. Now that I know Whaley wasn't the spearhead of the Ryan train wreck I have more confidence that he can find the right coach.

Be sure though that if that's the case, the next coaches firing will include him as Well.

    Great post. Agree 100%.

TT and his impact on the cap will be considered along with the team as a whole by DW and the new coach.

Will be a most interesting few weeks.

  10. Anyone even considering this has not watched the Vikings play this season. I'm a secondary Vikes fan and watched all I could when not interfering with Bills.

    Night. Day.

I'm serious. Any OL breakdown = auto sack. He's a statue - teams know right where to find him - in the pocket. If you think TT 3 and outs are painful to watch you ain't felt no pain.

    Don't get him.

  11. Lighten up Francis

I tried with the not dying thing. But yes. I shall.

Still think he's the best option and - like all things opinionated - think those who disagree are somehow dysfunctional.

Just look at the 2106 election.

  12. 1. Tyrod is the best on the roster, but he's not good enough or worth his upcoming contract. He's a high end backup or bridge starter, no more. Time to part ways since he won't be signing with the Bills when his options is not picked up.

    2. Can't speak to this. I didn't bother watching the game.

    3. Correct. I am still amazed any Bills fan could've thought EJ wasn't the answer over the last couple seasons.

    4. Yup. Cardale is raw. Keep working with him and don't freaking rush him.

    5. Yes again. Rex's failure to adapt his scheme to his talent was his greatest failure here.

    6. I hope not - and I disagree that he's regressed. Gilmore is a quality corner. Him leaving would be a big hole to fill.

    7. Dareus is a big disappointment. The team's inability to hold him accountable is on Whaley and the contract he was given.

    8. Probably true. I don't think Watkins wants to be here and I don't think he'll be worth keeping I'd he can't prove he can stay healthy. Big disappointment.

    9. Whaley: Producing an average roster at playoff prices.

    10. Couldn't agree more. I'd love a complete housecleaning.

    Out after this incongruence. KYS.

  13. No way. Look, the Offense has play makers all over it and a solid line. Ask yourself this question, when McCoy had that scare in the SF game, did you think 'there goes the season'? You know why, because you knew and so did i, that Taylor can not carry the team. Taylor was holding this team back, he has for two years. It is not Taylor's fault, he is not a bum or a bad guy. Taylor just is not what the Bills need at QB with the weapons they have. The Bills would be better served with an aging vet who still can make all the throws but may be done in 2-3 years. If the Bills could somehow do what The Cards did a few years back when they found Palmer and resurrected his career, we would be fine.

    No. Simply nuts.

  14. I dont understand how people question TT about the injury or the timing of the injury or about TT's agent deserving a raise. TT either needs surgery or he doesnt. A very respected doctor will make that determination. TT cant fake that with the doctor. The fact that this is happening NOW is clear: we're eliminated from the playoffs. There is no reason for TT to play through the injury especially if it can only get worse. Why does their need to be a conspiracy or negative slant on this. It seems clear to me.

    Great post.
