  1. I disagree with Schopp.

Currently, Taylor is 12th in passer rating, 17th in QBR, 19th in DYAR, 24th in yards per attempt, 29th in passing yards per game and 31st in sack percentage.

This is who he is. And it's good enough for now, but not good enough if we ever want to win a Super Bowl title.

    He's the prototypical stop-gap QB.

What TF does this even mean ? - proof that TT is in his own category.

    take a lap.

  2. This is a common refrain, but I dont think there is any evidence to support it. What is true, though, is that QBs like Taylor become much less effective when they lose a step or two, whereas guys like the Mannings, Brady, and Big Ben seemingly can go on forever.

    Agreed - specifically for TT.

His style of play in college was the same and he started every game there he was asked to. And he's started 36 out of 38 NFL games he's been asked to (1 in Balt) playing the same style.

He's very aware and smart about avoiding getting hit hard. Does a great job of getting out of bounds, down, or protecting himself if he's going to be hit. He's also a gym rat and very tough guy.

He's in his prime physically these next 2 years - after that - who knows.

For now there's no reason to think he can't be the QB that breaks the Playoff drought. If the D stays Top 5 and the WR/TE corps makes it to NFL average after the '18 draft, he (with Shady) is talented enough to take the Bills to a Super Bowl.

  3. Tyrod had a very slow start no doubt. Everything you pointed out was legit criticism but occurred mostly in the first half.

The coaching staff moved away from him being a pocket passer and TT moved back to being himself slowly, too in that game.

Zay Jones is simply not good right now - gonna take a while before TT trusts him at all - let alone as much as even DT already - fair or unfair, it has been established on this board as fact for TT haters and supporters alike - TT is very cautious.

    Thanks for the good read.

  4. Im good with Tyrod for now IF hes going to run. The way he played Sunday, is how he needs to play. Forget trying to make him a drop back passer. Let him do what he does. If Tyrod is going to use his legs, Im good. If hes going to try and stay in the pocket and drop back...Im not

Always been that way - I tend to like to think of it more as rolling him out more/run pass options - by design.

When TT is moving, he's actually very accurate. There's as many play he scorches Defenses with his legs for 20+ yd scampers as there is when he moves out of the pocket, improvises and continues to look down field. His arm is as dangerous as his legs when things go "street" ball.

Now we have a speed guy out there with DT and Jordan Matthews back there are more weapons he can hurt a team with than he had in the Cincy debacle.

Things are bright(er) for TT after just one week.

  5. Crazy to think the Bears cut DT and he walks on the field in Orchard Park as the #1 or #2 after 5 days of practice.

Tyrod haters need to quiet down - that throw to DT in the 4th qtr to answer that Yucks TD was awesome. Deep touch is coming back now that he's throwing to DT and not Zay - will give Zay 8 games before I label him a bust - not looking good. As always, hope I'm wrong there.

I really hated TT's decision making to close out the first half.

Dude put a couple on DT that were perfect and was $ in the run game.

One cannot underestimate how much time they spent together in Baltimore.

All said, great development for the Buffalo Bills Nation.

  6. And we're 3-2

And have 2x #1, 2x#2 and 2x#3 rd draft picks in 2018 draft.

Still say we should spend one now on a quality WR if someone is willing.

The D is AFC Championship level - the O just needs one more weapon to go with Matthews, Tate, Holmes, KClay and O'leary/Thomas to be serviceable.

    Pure speed guy would work.

  7. They're not going to trade a high draft pick for a receiver, so scratch that.

They're not going to fire Dennison mid-season, so scratch that.

They're just going to have to ride with what they have and evaluate after the season.

Why do you think this ?

If the Bills come out of the bye, look good, win at home vs the Bucs, go to 4-2 why not burn one of the stockpiled picks on a legit #2 WR to make the playoff run ? With the exception of not being able to pressure Dalton for some reason, the D has played at the AFC Championship level.

    Would then have:

    Matthews

Legit #2 deep threat (ex. Cooks, Ginn, Cobb)

    K. Clay

    Holmes

    Tate

    Improved O'Leary

    Logan Thomas

    C. Clay returning for PO run.

    Tyrod can win with that.

If it cost a 2nd rounder, would still have:

    2x1st RD

    1x2nd RD

    2x3rd RD

Just think it's possible for a team without a lot of high picks and is fat on WR like GB and Pats.

  8. That is the combined record of our opponents so far against the rest of the League.

Take out the their Bills games and The Broncos are 3-0, the Falcons are 3-0 and the Panthers and Jets are both 2-1.

Additionally, when the Bills play Cincy next week it will be their first game against a team with a loss this season.

Oh, and we are 2-1 so far this year against 2015 and 2016 Conference Champions.

Oh part 2, we have a game and half lead on the Patriots and Jets due to tie breakers.

Oh part 3, Doug Marrone is not going to be NFL Coach of the Year.

EDIT: Tyrod Taylor is 18-15 as a starter for the Bills and has thrown 42 TDs, with I believe 14 picks.

    Good stuff.

I know it's 3 seasons but I simply can't remember 14 picks. That number feels high.

If it's accurate, it means that very few of those picks were at key moments.

  9. The Ryan "fumble" which resulted in only one of the Bills TDs was a super-generous interpretation of the rules.

Way bigger than the ticky-tack no-call that would have only resulted in a first down - not a TD.

The Bills D won this thing on the road vs. one of the most explosive O-teams in the past 2 seasons.

Bills ended a streak of 23 + points scored that was an NFL record today.

  10. Watched the game with a Falcons fan/buddy. Knowledgeable NFL fan - crushes me regularly in FFB.

He said it was a good call by McD to run clock and kick there. Sanu and Julio out - even as an ATL a, he knew they could not put the winning drive together without them - especially the way the Bills D had played all game..

Was surprized it was as close as it was.

We're still buds - they have a bye already next week and he is soooo happy for the non-div L and the 2 weeks for Julio and Sanu to get better.

  11. i just think that we will get all the BS calls for DPI on Tre White or Gaines as they defend Julio. That's just how these things work. Gotta score points on offense and win TOP this week, it's the only way.

Sadly I think you are right - only hope is Falcons are not really NFL darlings like NE, GB, Dallas, and NYG are..

I think we can break even on calls - and become the new darling - haven't made playoffs in 17,000,000,000 years.

Hate the press in general but they luuuuv underdogs.

  12. 'Member the last time we played them in Toronto? I 'member (unfortunately).

Yup. Was there. Was my son's 21st Bday [present]. Only good thing is that it was very competitive (OT) and was glad for the dude...

Also his first trip to the Anchor Bar that Saturday before - actual 21st - in 8 hours at the bar we crushed 25 Wings and a Beef on Weck with double meat and double fries - and an entire bottle of Sailor Jerry - walked back to hotel.

Aside from the memorable birthday, it was the Iron Bowl "Kick Six" - watched that with my boy at the Anchor Bar. Very cool memory.

All said, I've yet to see an offense move at will against the Bills D - Atlanta is as high powered as they come but think the Bills can contain it - even the one TD Denver got was ref-aided and Carolina got nuthin. That's no "earned" TD's in 8+ qtrs. Silly to think they won't break that streak but I think we slow them waaay down. Ryan was picked 3 times in Detroit...we like picks.

Most in play is whether the O can continue its resurgence against a D not as good as Carolina's or Denver's .. Thinking it will ..

It will be a like 17-17 game heading into 5 min left.

No BS ref calls, please and we have a good shot here.
