    I am here for you.

ps I used to be so bad at letting games affect me, but I am better now. Unfortunately, it is now my 20 year old son who gets too stressed out.

That is exactly the situation with my 13 yr old "super fan" son - I need to try and remain calm to offset his stress/emotions!

I have been keeping tabs on this and surprised so many here hate the Bengals. I don't. They'll be irrelevant in 2 years when they can't afford and won't pay anyone. They're just a pimple, they won't be around forever.

However, the city of Cincinnati is loathed. They're so freaking trashy there. They have one entity which props up the entire city, Proctor and Gamble and then they have the mafia to help inflate everything (the IRS). They don't have much pride, always wishing they were as cool as even Cleveland or crying about the shadow of the Cbus. Hell, Cincinnati is just Lorain with more people.

Anyone I have met from Cinci might as well be a hillbilly from Kentucky. They have more in common with those folks than what is truly the heart of America.

Really bad take, my friend!  It's beyond stupid to take a broad swipe like this.  Dumb!  Ignorant!  Not cool!

For anyone going to the game, I would check out the Jeff Ruby restaurants. I used to travel to Cincy a decent amount, and those are great restaurants!

Agreed!  I found it hard to get a dinner reservation anywhere near the stadium before the game (no surprise), so I took M&S as a decent option (and a great location).

I think Josh needs to run, get that adrenaline flowing. When he is trying to simply be a pocket passer all game, he looks lethargic, like he's bored. Josh is so much better with his hair on fire. This is true of many athletes. That edge that you get when both your mind and body is jacked up on an adrenaline rush is what he needs. Saw signs of that last week. Hoping to see more of that this week.

Like many things in life, he needs to be balanced but not too balanced!

  5. To me, a lot comes down to seeing the same up-tempo/spread the ball around offense like we saw most of TB game.  If our O is clicking like it was last game, we'll be in good shape regardless of the other side of the ball.  Mix in some well-timed JA runs and maybe a trick play or two (haven't seen one in awhile).  My prediction is a close game, over 55 points scored, and it'll come down to the end.  Not necessarily a shootout but a fair amount of scoring.

They scored right out the gate in the second half.

I think you have to put what you are saying in proper perspective. Yes it's true about not scoring in the four drives.

The Bills were up 14 points. The Tampa offense didn't feel scary or dynamic. The 14 point lead pretty much felt insurmountable so long as the Bills didn't turn over the ball. I was satisfied with the Bills killing the clock and not taking unnecessary chances. I absolutely wanted them to punt on the two  4th and short opportunities.

Ideally, you want to close out these games. At the same time, I was fine with not turning over the ball, punting , and seeing if Tampa could score two TDs. I really never felt like they would be successful. It got very scary but so many fluke things happened to get Tampa in that position. I doubt you see so many weird bounces, bad calls, or horrific penalties like that in a long time.

The Bills were at home, up 14 points, vs a pretty poor offense, and Baker Mayfield isn't exactly Mahomes.

Overall, I think the Bills offense was fine. They looked very good and different in a good way. Nice play calls, nice pace, diversity, and creative. Josh looked like Josh!!!

I usually look at the negative side of things when it comes to the Bills. This time I find myself strongly gravitating to the positive. This was the first time since the Miami game that I feel this offense just might be able to carry the team. That's exciting to this fan.

One of your better posts!!  : )  I came away with very similar sentiments.  Wasn't too worried at the end but also wasn't "loving it" - But we saw the emergence of some younger playmakers, including Shakir who I practically forgot existed, and Kincaid who I was expecting to catch fire with Knox out.  And I think it's clear that this was viewed as more or less of a "must win" so we saw Josh's legs more (I think they want to save that for later tough games/playoffs if they can).  And seeing the rhythm on offense was excellent and I'm sure we could have scored more if really needed.  And I don't recall ever seeing so many "50/50" situations go against us//fluky crap.  If the Bucs started that same long drive in the 4th 1,000 times, 75-80% of the time it would have stalled out completely or ended in a FG.  Now we get a 1.5 week rest.

  7. Let's be balanced in our assumptions - If every week is its own thing, that also means we could see the type of offense we expect.  And maybe our defense struggles a bit.  Who knows.  But to assume NE will give us a lot of trouble because every week is different/any given Sunday, the same logic should apply to our offensive struggles - New week/new chance to get on track!  Let's Go!!  Go Bills!!

  8. Let's break down the 4-2 for a minute: One very high quality win (Miami); two solid wins (Washington, Vegas); one strange/ugly win (NYG); one "bad" loss (NYJ); and one understandable loss, perhaps, with lots of injuries (J-ville in England).  Objectively, that looks reasonably good overall but with a lot of inconsistency.  Makes you start to wonder things like "which team will show up this week?"; "are we doomed because of injuries?"; "what's the identity of the offense?".  I personally remain cautiously optimistic and am trying to enjoy the ride . . . Go Bills!!

In the game thread I said he knee was down in the replay when they showed it and then went to commercials I thought after them we would have the ball but nothing

At the time, I thought he might have been down too and that we should've considered challenging it.  Oh well.  A win is a win but that was not a pleasant evening of football for Bills fans!

Interesting that this one only gives the Bills a 54% chance to make the playoffs.  And shows both the Colts & Steelers w higher probability to get in.

I may be wrong about this but I think the 54% is the probability of winning the first round (every % in the table is the probability of winning in said round).  So our chances of making the playoffs would be higher than that.
