There are a whole bunch of terms and jargon in the antitrust law and economics space (I am an economist who consults on antitrust issues in mergers and antitrust litigation, among other things). Generally, people don't say amongst themselves "let's collude!" and it's even rare for people to explicitly collude (think of a smoke filled room where business leaders in an industry agree to set prices or divide territories/customers). And as someone noted, a league is a different sort of animal than Coke vs. Pepsi. The league I am sure has argued over the years that they have rules in place to make sure there is in theory a level playing field among teams and that the real competition they face is other forms of entertainment, such as college football, etc. Here, the issue is monopsony (basically, monopoly from the standpoint of a buyer rather than a seller) which is the power to decrease wages or other terms as a buyer of labor . . . Sorry for the digression . . .

It's not about who is better.
All I'm saying is that at his current pace, Allen will have slam-dunk HOF numbers by the time he reaches the age of 36. And if he can play a few years beyond that, he's going to totally obliterate the record books. The media downplays his greatness now, because I don't think many of them have actually done the math.
His current pace will have him at this point in only seven more years (all-time rank in parenthesis):
Total TDs: 524 (#5)
Total YDs: 61,152 (#10)
Pass TDs: 390 (#8)
Pass YDs: 52,868 (#12)
Rush TDs: 130 (#3)
Rush YDs: 8,284 (#44)
Regardless of Super Bowls, there isn't a single voter who is going to ignore that kind of resume.
I don't disagree with you at all. Just pointing out that certain stats tend to favor current players and can be misleading. Not taking anything away from Josh. I think if he retired tomorrow, he'd still have an excellent chance of getting into the hall. If he continues to play at current level for several more years, then it's not even a debate (SB(s) or not).

Disagree.
He can make it based on statistics alone.
And right now, Josh Allen is well on pace (barring injury) to shatter every dual-threat QB record on the books.
For his first 7 seasons in the NFL, Allen is currently:
- 1st all-time in total yards
- 1st all-time in total touchdowns
- 1st all-time in total wins
Over 13 playoff games, he is also:
- 1st all-time in postseason yards per game
- 1st all-time in postseason touchdowns per game
- 1st all-time in postseason touchdown/INT ratio
Looking strictly at the Bills history, Allen is only a couple seasons away from breaking every Bills passing record currently held by Hall of Famer Jim Kelly. He's already passed HOF running back OJ Simpson in rushing touchdowns, and will pass HOF running back Thurman Thomas next year. He's currently #5 in rushing yards all-time for the team, and (believe it or not) it's actually possible for him to become #1 in that stat too. Has any QB ever broken the yardage AND touchdown records for their team in BOTH passing and rushing?
Currently, Allen has 262 total touchdowns in his career. He's already over half-way to being Top 5 in the history of the NFL. Meaning 7 more seasons at the same pace, and he's right there. Now, I'm not sure if he will ever catch Tom Brady (677 total), but everyone else on that list (Drew Brees, Peyton Manning, Aaron Rodgers, Brett Favre) can potentially be passed if Allen can keep playing into into his late 30s at a high level. Seven more seasons makes him only 36, and some QBs are now playing well into their early 40s.
At the current pace, he's also half-way to being Top 10 all-time in passing touchdowns (#9 or #10 depending on how long Matthew Stafford plays). It's totally conceivable for him to land right around the Top 5 on this list as well.
And the clincher... Allen is also half-way to being #3 all-time in RUSHING touchdowns (he will likely pass Cam Newton at the QB position either this year or next). Again, not sure he can quite catch Emmitt Smith at 164. But he could pass everyone else on that list, including LaDainian Tomlinson, Marcus Allen, Adrian Peterson, Walter Payton and Jim Brown.
My only quibble with alot of the above is that they play more games now that in the past, so "first 7 seasons" stats are skewed in favor of current players. I believe Allen is better than Kelly, but Kelly played fewer games per season (no fault of his own) so he is handicapped vs. Allen.

The first game of the season can be more of a crapshoot than later in the season, but I don't think that necessarily favors one team over the other. This game is similar to playing KC in that we've played them so much recently it feels almost like a divisional game. A bit concerned that Henry will be fresh since it's the start of the season, but I suppose our guys will be fresh too! Should be an excellent game. Go Bills!

I just really doubt that. I know it hasn't happened in the playoffs but we have played defensive battles against them in the regular season. 20-17 and 24-20. If we hold them to 20, I bet they hold us right around that too and it still comes down to the final 2 or 3 minutes of the ball game.
By the same token, if it does come down to the last few minutes in a tight game, maybe we'll be in a better position to get that one key stop on defense? One can hope! I agree past history isn't very encouraging but we did seem to really load up on D this draft.

And to be clear I am not hating on the draft. The most important part of the draft is the premium picks the first two days and I think Beane did as good a job with them as he has since 2018.
I am a bit more ciritical of his approach to the vet market in terms of FA and trades but I have no doubt the Bills will win the division and win a playoff game or two as long as Josh is healthy. My worry is that we will end up facing KC having the ball at the end, for a 3rd year in a row and not be able to get it done. And I am less persuaded that just upgrading the defense is the answer there. That isn't how the Bills - Chiefs games are. It won't matter whether we play a 32-29 game or a 20-17 game. The result will come down to the final 3 minutes and I think all of us would rather in that situation the ball be in Josh's hand than in Pat's. And then we gotta make the critical plays. Do we yet have the guys to do it?
I can totally understand this line of thinking and am sympathetic to it and concerned about it as well. But my hope is that we've made enough incremental improvements on D (including a speedy CB) that it won't come down to needing to score ourselves at the end. Many factors explain why we lost to KC - Sure there were offensive reasons but make no mistake, when Benford went out and Elam came in, that was a huge factor/issue.

What is it if you actually have 5?
Less than 0.00000000000000000000000000000001 of a QB

They have a 4-QB logjam now. Good going, Cleveland.
If you have 2 QBs, you have none - If you have 4 QBs, you have none + none = none!

I hope it's true, but it sounded like "connecting flight in Cincy" implied that the flight connected in Cincy to Buffalo. I want answers.
I am not sure what the rumor is but I can confirm one thing being a Cincy resident: There are no direct flights from CVG to Buffalo (at least on standard carriers).

How many multi millionaires fly coach? A lot don't! Especially 200-350 pound multi millionaires.

We would have done better than the Chiefs, but at best, it would have been a coin flip/down to the wire type of game. In my view, the Eagles are a better, more well rounded version of the Ravens. Not a great matchup for us, and we'd need some breaks. But there's no way our O line would have been shredded, and I think we'd be more committed to running the ball/slowing the game down.

I haven’t stopped. This game/season hasn’t left my head in weeks. Usually I spend a lot of time on here or Twitter talking X’s and O’s. “If this happens then that needs to happen, etc.” That just hasn’t been the case for me over the last couple of games. There’s an eerie calm that I’m feeling. People talk about “the calm before the storm” and for those of you that have been through a hurricane, you know that feeling. I have that now but without the threat of the storm.
I was just sure that the Bills were going to win last week. There wasn’t a scenario that came into my mind where they lost. That’s how I feel again this week. I don’t mean that in a dismissive or arrogant way. It’s just time. Strategy aside, this is their destiny.
Amen brother!

I don’t like that this game is on the road. That said, Bills have played extremely well lately without Josh needing to go off. I expect a close back and forth stressful game unfortunately. We ultimately prevail though, of course! Fu@k the Chiefs! Basically the whole world wants us to win and we must take care of business. Go Bills!

This is a good start - Maybe also ban the mining of personal data that optimizes the amount a person gambles and also marketing tactics designed toward putting people on the path toward addiction? I was playing live poker at a casino recently and the person to my immediate right was on his phone the whole time sports betting - He wasn't even remotely engaged in the poker game at hand. It's the 24/7 remote/internet access to sports betting that's really scary. I used to play poker online but eventually stopped because it was so depressing and boring.
