  1. I’m kind of surprised no one on this board has picked this story up as stuff is popping up lately regarding the two. Now I take anything put on twitter or Reddit with a grain of salt.

But I was almost going to mention something a while back. Brittany was constantly posting pics of their vacations in the off-season - almost daily on Instagram.  They were inseparable. Then there seemed to be a definite quiet period of inactivity going on which seemed unusual . I thought to myself probably somewhere on vacation out of touch with society.

But in the past few days, twitter reddit have picked up steam that the two are no longer together.  There have been no pics of the two in the past number of weeks.  Britt no longer follows Josh on Instagram. Lots of girl time pics lately.

Anyways please close this thread if need be. It’s not really our business but they are in the spotlight. Just thought it might be interesting to some. Could be completely nothing as well. We will see.

  2. Detroit is going to be so fun to watch. Learning how to win those close games last season and following their enthusiastic head coach, momentum is moving in the right direction. I have a friend down here who was a bit slow to renew his season tickets and lost out on the first and second levels of seating.

Seeing the Gm make a move to recoup some assets now is another positive sign of a better run organization. 2 first round draft picks, I think it’s great to see.

Maybe just once Beane should cross his line. He missed out on Von Miller in 2021 and Christian McCaffrey last year. If it takes a 2nd rounder so be it. We aren't likely to draft a franchise changing player at pick 59. I would trade every player we've picked in the 2nd round since McDermott took over for two years of DeAndre Hopkins. I hope he doesn't pinch pennies over a move that could push us over the hump.

Looking back I agree, we got Von a year too late. Von just might have pushed us over the edge instead of the 13 sec disaster.  It’s great we kept our Third rounder to select Bernard🙄. Even Cook wasn’t necessarily an immediate need in round 2.

  4. If Hopkins can be had for a few draft picks I think I am making the move and taking the chance. I have started to come around and and feel good about some of the role players we picked up to this point. If this were to happen it should take pressure off Diggs. Should take pressure off the running game. It would open up our whole draft-heck go draft another D lineman or LB at that point.

Looking back, I think we were a year too late with VON.

  5. I’d be in for a move. Something to move the needle for  this season. I’m pretty sure our draft picks were close to the bottom in playing time last season.

Or we run it back with what we have and see where we fall. I think maybe the best expectation for us is not to be the favorites and have a little luck fall our way. Will be nice to have Micah Poyer and Tre out there in week 1.

  6. I like Beane a lot and  think he has done a great job. But we as fans invest a lot of time, money, emotion into each and every season. I’m 43, I’m sure some here are older, younger whatever. We have an Elite Qb in Allen, now entering into year 6 and has to sniff an MVP or Super Bowl appearance. Why is that?

Diggs was openly candid about asking that very some question why the same thing is happening year after year?  It’s a fair question to ask what has held us back from reaching the big game.

Now you have some  media raising the idea that Mcd is not the man.. I don’t know, I like Mcd but maybe hard decisions need to be made.

I think I echo a lot of sentiments that the bar is now higher than trust process.
We are better position that 90 percent of the league with just our Qb.. give him whatever the heck he wants or needs.

  7. All things considering I think I’m fairly happy with what we have done on D. It does come with some risk with regards to our safeties age but I feel if they can stay healthy it’s a better solution than the alternative. Hyde and Poyer just work so well together and I’m not sold on what we have behind them for a whole season. I’m ready to roll without Edmunds and see where it takes us.

Anyone but Saffold is a step up so it seems we could be relatively set with the starting oline and go after it more in the draft. It Really would be good if Spencer can improve his game or bring in some competition.

In my opinion for this to be successful for Beane  I would now focus my attention back to the Offense. Beane  should look to grab another Wr to take the pressure off Diggs. I don’t want to be signing guys off the street come playoff time.

I wonder if he will look to sign another back before the draft as well..

  8. Dolphins Fans have that same excitement I felt about our team the past two off seasons and I think they should.

Jets will too if they land Rogers imo.

This off-season I have more of a “wondering what will it take approach”

Allen is so special that he alone can mask a lot of shortcomings. But is it unreasonable to think that the Phins and possibly Jets Qb dependant  don’t have a  roster as complete or maybe even more complete than ours?

And they were not the only top 5 defense in the NFL this year to not be able to hold up when it was time to play an elite offense in the post season - see 49ers and Philly. It's just the league. If you are expecting to win playoff games against the best offenses by holding them below 24 that is a bad strategy because more often than not it won't happen. What that means is the Bills (and others) have to lean into that, recognise where the league is going and adjust their resource allocation.

That doesn't say there aren't things the defense could have done better in those 3 losses or that they don't shoulder any blame, of course there are and of course they do. But these playoffs showed us where the NFL is in 2022. The best regular season defenses couldn't stop the best regular season offenses when it mattered most. Go back 15/20 years and it was almost always the opposite - hence defense wins championships. It's just no longer true.

Probably all the more reason to give Allen every the very best opportunity to succeed by pouring resources into the Offense.

I read an article just recently and it stated After Kc got manhandled in the Super Bowl to Tampa,  Veach promised Reid he would do everything he could to make sure he protects Mahomes going forward.

Maybe Beane thought Saffold was that guy? but he sucked. Pretty much anyone not named Morse or Dawkins is a concern right now.  But how you do not do everything in your power to constantly surround your Franchise Qb is beyond me?!

Maybe the brass really believed Gabe was the guy.. or Knox,  but in Dawson case we probably couldn’t utilize him fully as we needed him to stay back and help block.

For the past few years  it seemed  the consensus was Kc had a not so great D. I’m sure they accepted the fact that they could give up 28 points and still win the game because of Mahomes. At the same time while maybe not a great D it was an aggressive D that could cause you to make mistakes. Plus you have a disrupter on the D line like Chris  Jones. that was our Von Miller..

Our sit back and  bend but not break D is frustrating as teams ran all over us and we still failed to rush the passer post VoN despite the resources poured into the dline over the past few years. That kind of D keeps Allen off the field.

Not only that,  at the speed we actually get draft picks into the season is really conservative to say the least. I believe we were at the near bottom of rookie playing time. Yet we kept trotting out Dane Jackson time and time no matter how bad he was getting abused.

I honestly don’t even get the Super Bowl or bust this year mentality. With what’s looking to be a crazy difficult schedule, a D missing two pieces and having to replace and an offense that has certain questions marks we are no longer that much better than than a handful of teams.

So I think this is a critical year for the Top Brass and Mcd. Surely they know the pressure is on. But they all need to hit it big before you have a guy like Diggs check out completely.

  10. I think  we have had some really dumbfounding losses over the course of each season which just don’t sit right with me. I know every team usually loses one here and there but it’s the coaches we face.

A couple years ago it was losing to that clown of a coach in Cleveland.. is it Kitchens I’m thinking about?

We don’t get off the bus to play against Urban Myer in his 2 win season.

Then this year somehow we lose to Zach Wilson who was being pummeled by every other team and end up getting Allen’s arm wrecked in the process.. Wilson has a 77 Qbr rating against us in that game. For the season his Qbr was 36.5.

I just can’t really figure it out.

  11. Do you think Mcd is still too slow to adapt mid season or  this braint trust has gone too far with the belief of having our players grow and get better..Maybe just another trait of being too safe?

I was thinking about the Hines trade. He was traded for on November 1 and saw little to no action in his first few games.  Meanwhile  McCaffrey was on a plane learning the playbook and involved right away. I know they are not on the same level of talent  but it seemed like a  awfully long time to figure out a way to get Hines involved.

Maybe Sims is right and we need to be more open to brining guys in like a K Toney. We always find some reason to say nah we don’t need a guy like that but on the flip side the Chiefs are saying yeah another weapon for Mahomes. Anytime I hear a Wr is available you can bet the Chiefs are seriously looking into them.

Veach right now is taking Beanes lunch money. Maybe time to get a bit more out of the comfort zone? I don’t know I’m just spitballing thoughts.. this off-season still feels about as depressing as Beanes PC.

    I want a SB!
