Something about Clowney doesn't feel right to me. Don't know why.
My issue with Clowney and I realize this may rub some folks the wrong way is that to me, he hasn’t lived up to his overall draft status. This guy was a number 1 overall pick IIRC and quite honestly, I’m not so sure he’d be worth surrendering a high pick for

Another poster made a thread about feeling sorry for the Dolphins, I scoffed at that notion til I read this lol. Nothing smells worse than burnt phish

OMG wow, lmao dude nailed Matt Miller

The biggest one I remember was when we signed Jeff Posey, Sam Adams & Takeo Spikes.
Wasn’t Lawyer Milloy signed with that bunch as well?

I’m concerned we’d get a Mario Williams performance out of Clowney. I think I’d rather draft a young and hungry DT at 9.
That’s the last thing I would worry about since Rex Ryan is long gone. I would trust McDermott is more than capable of getting the best out of Clowney compared to Ryan

Jets got basically shunned by Paradis as well. If they flop on signing Bell, this off season will leave a sickening taste in Jet fans’ mouths

I find it funny that probably both the Jets and Dolphins were laughing at us believing AB didn't wanna go to Buffalo. Now as it stands, Barr wanted nothing to do with the Jets, Paradis signed with Carolina, Bridgewater turns down more money from Miami to stay in NO. LOL what a day

Wasn't he just a waiver claim though?
I think you may be right there, I can't really remember. Seems like it was so long ago

With all this being said, didn’t Dri Archer do the same thing to us?
-
Well let’s hope he still holds a grudge against Gase. More motivation to beat another division rival
-
Not a skeptic per se, keeping my optimism in check for now. I will admit he had a better season than I expected given that our O line wasn’t that great. That being said, you can’t help but wonder how he would have fared if he had the O line Taylor had.

I personally think if the Titans took Philly up on their offer, Mariota would have been in a much better place right now. Tennessee was the worst place for Mariota, and both him and the Titans would have benefitted more if the Titans pulled the trigger on that trade
-
Being from Tennessee myself, I look at it as if that’s how it is then the Titans also inherit the blown 32 point lead in 93 against the Bills. All of a sudden, their “miracle” doesn’t seem like much of a miracle any more

Don't bore me with the cheating narrative. They know the rules better than any other team and they take advantage of that. Deflategate was a joke. They win because they're better. We all know this.
Ok maybe they’re better, but to deny they bent the rules a bit if not a lot is quite one sided, not to mention confusing. If they were that good, crossing the lines they crossed shouldn’t have been necessary. Deflategate was a joke? The joke was not even mentioning pulling of Brady’s texts from his service provider since there was an actual hearing involved. The NFL saved that franchise by doing as little as possible.
They may be good, but there’s also arrogance the goes along with that, especially Bellichek. They got more than enough as it is now imo

I mean, we could have just had Cooper if we had the balls to trade. Our pick was going to be better then Dallas’ anyway. I said a month before the deadline we should try and trade for Cooper but everyone always wants to sit on our picks. Use our picks on WRs like Zay Jones. A guy that hasn’t had a single 100 yd game in his career. Yet an UDFA Robert Foster has basically 3 in the last 4 games.
Would liked to have had Cooper, but the key weakness in the passing game is the OL. Not sure giving up our first round pick for Cooper would have been wise. Cooper or no Cooper, Allen would still be running for his life

Im sorry but it’s true.
he learns nothing and does not grow by running. He simply avoids the type of the plays that QBs need to learn how to make at the highest level.
Maybe several more L’s will make you see it.
I do agree with you on the running hurting his development part, but a lot of this can be attributed to the lack of surrounding talent. I would much rather see him pass more, god knows we don’t need Tyrod 2.0, but until he gets a better OL, we’re gonna see a lot of running
-
I fall under realist. Passing judgement on either good or bad games he’s had is premature. Like everyone else, I praise the good and hope he can learn and adapt with the bad. Really wished he beat the Dolphins tho.
Even tho he didn’t, I saw enough to know the phish are gonna be cellar dwellers for quite a long time. Right there with the Pats when they finally do their rebuild

I think the NFL probably has 3rd party confirmation of the "B word" comment, otherwise Hughes would be in some serious hot water right now. Its nice to know that Hughes wasn't crazy at least during his shouting threats part of the post game. However the total denial stage with reporters where Jerry claimed he didn't know what they were talking about. That put me right back in the "Jerry is crazy" camp.
That was probably advice from McDermott to not speak about that to reporters, which was good advice to give. If that was the case, props to McD for putting out a fire before one started

The thing I find ironic is that those saying Allen’s velocity doesn’t mean anything but Peterman’s lack of velocity basically defined how bad he was. I don’t get it

Ok here’s the problem I have, and it’s not Adrian Peterson I have the problem with. The problem I have is the people complaining about spanking a child. Ok, I got spanked with a belt, switch, toy race car track, just about whatever. Now the extent of what Peterson’s tactics were the first time was way too much. But as far as using a belt? I have zero issues with it.
Because it seems to me that not using a belt today is part of the problem: Growing up, I never saw or even heard of kids killing other kids and teachers in school, how many times has that happened recently? There’s what’s called right to parent in the law itself. I don’t in any way advocate child abuse, using a belt is not the same.
But back to Peterson, I don’t have any issues with him using a belt for corporal punishment, but the line is drawn there.

I don't know if they tanked, but you're right about Barkley. It was one game.
True that it was one game, but for a guy that had zero OTA and training camp participation, it was quite impressive that he ran the offense the way he did. I’m not really sure benching him in favor of Allen is the way to go at this point
-
I don’t necessarily agree with this decision. I can understand getting Allen more reps, but I think Barkley deserves another shot against a slightly better at this point team than the Jets. Not to mention I’m quite sure the defense would advocate starting Barkley given his performance with very little time to prepare.
As Beane said, they have no plans to tank and while Allen may be the future, it wouldn’t be fair to the defense to accept possibly losing more games for the sake of Allen getting more reps.
I think giving Barkley at least the start against the Jags would be ok, and if he stinks up the joint, then give Allen the rest of the season
-
I'm not really sure what this would accomplish at this point. Manziel couldn't cut it in this league once, did even worse in the CFL. Ability to scramble won't solve the problem with this offense. A lot of the issues are lack of execution and talent, Manziel already lacks talent so why add to the problem?

I’d be all over this idea. With Daboll more than likely having ties to Cooper at Bama, maybe something could be worked out. Throw Benjamin in the mix and hell, Gruden likes Peterman too. There ya go
Time to think About Suh?

Suh is not exactly what you would call a move for the future for pretty much any team, but especially this team. For a guy with the kind of talent he’s shown, it’s kinda sad he’s been reduced to jumping from team to team
