  1. EVANS = MOST OVERRATED RECEIVER IN THE NFL

He is not overated, just overpaid. No one other than bills fans and management think he is a top 10 receiver. He is small and not physical. He is fast, has great hands and runs great routes.

    Andre johnson

    T O

    Randy Moss

    Brandon Marshall

    Steve Smith

    Larry Fitz

    Anquan Bolden

    Roddy White

    Calvin Johnson

  2. I am certainly impressed.

He is competing with a 5th round pick from last year who blew out his knee and this year's 5th round pick who played SS in college and has to learn a new position.

both of which are also too small, slow and weak to be effective NFL LBs.

maybe the Bills will give up fewer than 126 rushing yards/ game with these beasts on the field.

mediocre competition for a mediocre player

  3. Hell yea TKO loved us.

This was his quote after the San Fran/Buffalo game last year:

"We actually did two days of red zone work, somewhat on Thursday and then a true red zone day on Friday," Spikes said. "He(edit: San Fran Def. Coord.) can tell us what they're going to run, but a lot of people don't tell you why they'll run it versus certain stuff. And for him to be able to put us in that position, that's the reason why we're going to be effective in the red zone. We saw that. Certain calls you're going to be able to see certain stuff."

I figure he was trying to do us a huge favor by letting us know that our redzone offense was easily predictable by an opposing coach. Not that most semi-knowledgeable fans didn't strongly suspect/know that anyways.

It would be nice to have him here adding some personality on defense, I think he'd help keep those guys fired up. I agree that I'd rather have him than Ellison. TO on offense, TKO on defense would've been great.

TKO was like a Chris Spielman and a Bryce Paup. A great player and person whose career was strongly affected by injuries.

  4. I'm not saying Ellison is good, but this is one of the msot laughable statements I have ever heard.

    http://www.nfl.com/players/keithellison/profile?id=ELL695701

It may be laughable but true. Ellison is one of the worst starting LB in the league and Wire played solidly for the falcons. Wire played mostly at safety in buf where he was poorly suited.

  5. Here are my two players who I expect to have breakout seasons......

QB Trent Edwards on Offense. With the offensive weapons at his disposal and a O-Coordinator whose job is on the line, I expect him to start out on fire this year and stay that way. As long as his offensive line keeps him up right that is.

On Defense I expect to see Whitner to be the man....... It would not surprise me to see him play a rover type position ... Whitner reads offensive plays well. As a rover, he can do the unexpected. That would be mostly confusing opposing QBs. With the quality of talent now in the backfield I can see this happening sooner than later.

What is a Rover ? A Rover plays anywhere on the field he wants to. QBs never know where he will be and can cause a lot of frustration especially with a player like Whitner causing havoc........Remember, one of his strengths is that he reads opponents play calling very well.....

In any event I see those two having great seasons for the Bills this year. There will be others of course. The more the merrier......

I think Youboty is an upcoming defensive star, if he can stay healthy. He reminds me of Tim Connally

  6. Hey altima I live in Stone Mountain GA and teach high school in Atlanta so I hear about the Falcons all the time. Im also goin to the game.

Here is the deal with ATL:

Most people in the ATL especially the sports talk radio shows (680 the fan) think that after only one season (ok a great season) that Matt RYan is for sure the next Peyton Manning. They also believe that Michael Turner is a top 3 RB in the NFL. The addition of Gonzo should make there offense as good as almost any in the league but here are the holes.

    1. The OLine was a huge group of overachievers last year. That may not be the case this year as teams start to do to Ryan what they began to do to Peyton BLITZ BLITZ BLITZ BLITZ BLITZ.

    2. The D is pathetic....... plain and simple. COY WIRE IS A STARTING LB here right now! Peterson had to brought in on his last leg just so that the team would not have an average starting age of 16 on that side of the ball.

    3. The secondary is a joke. They are starting to build the D through the draft and if you are a falcon fan you should be happy with where your team is...... Rome wasnt built in a day. Dimitroff pretty much built there O in one year. The D will take more time. Jamal Anderson (the D lineman not the old cokehead RB) has one last year to prove hes not a complete bust or he will c the door. Peria Jerry was drafted to anchor the line but the only real proven talent on that side of the ball is John Abraham and he is one bad cough away from missing half the season with his yearly injury.

Hope that gives you some ammo but if it doesnt just remind him that his last FRANCHISE QB was so sick in the head that he got his kicks from killing helpless animals..... should shut him up or prove hes as sick was Vick was eh eh is.

I live in atlanta as well, but I think the falcons are a serious contender. Matt Ryan is the next Peyton Manning. The falcons offense will be a top 5 offense this year. The defense lost 5 starters from last year, but I still think will be solid. In fact I think the falcons defense has more talent than our defense. Coy Wire is significantly better than Ellison,

Plain and simple, I think the falcons have better management and coaching than we do. by the way, what school do you teach at?

This really could cause Florence to get the axe if this guy shows the same flashes in the preseason. I don't see us letting go of Youboty or Cary Harris unless they're lost out there. I really don't expect theat from Youboty and hope he builds off of what he showed last year early. I think it will come down to Harris and Florence in the end.

If he is solid, it means that we will not resign Terrence Mcgee next year.

  8. Great.

Please just keep him off of television now.

The last thing I need is that guy commenting on anything.

Be a good boy and try to just leave quietly and not let anything hit you on the way out.

    Thanks.

I met rodney harrisons parent's in the buffalo airport after we beat the pats 31-0 in the home opener. They were very gracious, high class people. I enjoyed speaking with them and they were very complimentary about the team and the bills fans. Despite his tough, dirty on the field personality, I suspect he will be an insightful intelligent commentator. The apple doesn't fall far from the tree.

  9. I agree a second round pick seems like a good price for Dorsey. But don't forget who is running the show in KC. Scott Pioli isn't going to give away a potential All-Pro, no matter what type of system he is designed for.

I would give up a second, and there is no doubt we would have to accept his current contract. I don't think pioli knows him that well and he knows that despite his talents, he is a poor fit for the system in KC. Furthermore, he wants to build thru the draft and a potential high second round pick is not bad along with a large salary dump.

  10. First off let's talk about the Bills. I believe that they sure did telegraph what they are going to do in the draft. Not only did they cut our starting LG but they also got rid of our primary TE. Luckily these are 2 positions that aren't early 1st rd selections in this year's draft. One could argue that a starting G could be worth an early rd pick but this is a draft tha is heavy in OL and a quality G could be taken in the 2nd rd. As BeastMode54 pointed out in an earlier post the versatility of Hangartner gives us the insulation of being able to address our need on the OL without fear. here's some of the ideas and topics that I would like to comment on.

First, the Bills will trade Roscoe Parrish on draft day to the Seattle Seahawks. The 'Hawks lost their slot receiver Bobby Ingram during free agency to the Chiefs, Nate Burleson had a torn ACL and is practicing with a brace on his surgically repaired knee at the 'Hawks minicamps and Deion Branch had his knee scoped at the end of last year. That guy can't stay healthy and the receiving corp last year was thin AND exposed. Hasselbeck wasn't available himself and if Matt Stafford is still available when they pick then expect Seattle to take him at the #4 pick. I just recently thought that they would draft CB Malcolm Jenkins but it looks more and more like the Seahawks are going to bring back CB Ken Lucas.

Jason Peters will not be traded. In light of Dockery being released, signing TO and Lynch with a possible suspension, the Bills need everybody that they got on the OL.

If the Bills trade down (Detroit's #20?) then I would like to see them draft DT Peria Jerry. If not then LB Brian Cushing would be a good safe pick. I'm also not disounting, nor would I be disappointed, if the Bills opted for DE Aaron Maybin as an alternate for Cushing at the #11 pick. I'm not hedging, I'm just stating what would make sense.

Look for the Carolina Panthers to sign JP Losman after the draft. They don't put a lot of emphasis on high profile QBs and Losman could be the kind of player that they feel that they could further develope during Jake Delhomme's twilight.

I expect Donte Whitner to have a HUGE year, escially in the turnover dept. The top 5 out of 7 players with interceptions last year were safeties and 4 of the 5 were free safeties. The new position change is going to compliment Whitner greatly.

The Patriots have 11 total picks and has nowhere near that many roster spots available. New England may very well be the biggest X-factor in the draft from a wheeling-and-dealing standpoint. It wouldn't surprise me to see them trade up with some of those picks for just a couple of quality defenders.

The Bengals just signed DT Tank Johnson. He'll benefit from playing in a 4-3 much more than Dalls' 3-4. I mention this because this should make B.J Raji slide a bit more in the draft. OT Andre Smith is probably the right fit for Cincinnati. Green Bay might be tempted to take him at the #9 spot but they'll chose Tyson Jackson when it comes time. If he is still available when Denver is on the clock then the Broncos will jump all over him.

Do you realize that if the Bills stand pat and don't accumalate any more extra picks than by the time they make their fourth selection the Patriots will already have made 6 selections?

The Rams are rumored to be willing to trade out of the #2 overall pick and the 49'ers are posturing by scheduling visits with QBs Mark Sanchez and Josh Freeman.

Did you know that teams wait until the draft is over and the regular season nears before they make a run on RFAs? The reason being is to wait and see who spent their money on draft picks, current players that were restructured and FA signings. Having just 7 days to match the offers puts a lot of stress on the teams and the chances of them passing becomes greater.

    Now, let's talk.

I think we wil try to trade Parrish. Seattle won't be interested after drafting Crabtree. We will not draft a DE in the top 3 rounds. Jason Peters will definitely be traded. The names you will most likely here on draft day for the bills are Oher, Pettigrew, Pereia, Matthews,Cushing, Mack, Unger, Raji. We will try to trade down, but it may not be possible.

  11. Let 'em have #1 and its headaches. Give me Detroit's #20, #33, and #65 for Peters instead:

11 Buffalo Michael Oher OT Mississippi

20 Buffalo Brandon Pettigrew TE Oklahoma St

33 Buffalo Robert Ayers DE43 Tennessee

42 Buffalo Eric Wood OG Louisville

65 Buffalo William Moore FS Missouri

75 Buffalo Jonathan Luigs OC Arkansas

110 Buffalo Jonathan Casillas OLB43 Wisconsin

147 Buffalo Vance Walker DT43 Georgia Tech

183 Buffalo Otis Wiley SS Michigan State

220 Buffalo Worrell Williams ILB California

I'm sure Detroit would rather get rid of #1 and keep its bevy of lower picks.

  12. If Sanchez is still available at 11, wouldn't the Jets (at 17), Bears (at 18), Bucs (at 19) as well as the Lions (at 20) be interested in trading up to get him? Maybe we could start a 15 minutes bidding war and come up with even more picks.

This is probably the best scenario for us. We could trade down and take Pettigrew.

  13. You're right that he's not a burner. But, please ... "He runs slower than many OL." Oh, really? At the combine, he ran a 4.85. In what universe do many OLs run that fast, the Bizarro world? The guy just had a bad day. He will have another workout this week and if cleared will run another 40.

Scouts have widely said that he plays much faster than his run at the combine would indicate.

Ingram would indeed be faster. And unable to block, which is half of the work that a TE is supposed to do.

Look, ideally you would like to have a guy who is big enough, tough enough and good enough to block at the NFL level as well as fast enough to run a seam route. How many of those guys are there in this draft? Zero. Hell, there about two guys in the NFL who have showed that kind of freakish athletic ability.

If you want a tall guy who can run pass patterns but can't block, just wait for James Hardy to develop. Or draft a tall WR. Tight ends have two types of duties and Ingram and the other later TEs can't do half of what they are expected to do.

Jason Witten is also not very fast. He's a very effective blocker and a terrific reciever at short and medium depth. He can't run the seam route. But he simply makes Romo's life a whole ton easier. That's what Pettigrew can do. He won't stretch the field, but will be a fantastic guy to throw to when Trent is running for his life or needs eight or twelve yards for a drive-saving first down.

You are absolutely correct. Pettigrew is exactly what we need. He is an every down player that creates mismatches. He is the next Jason Witten. He will be a better blocker than Witten.
