  1. Good thread. I disagree with having to clean house if we miss playoffs. First off, Russ Brandon is in charge of the business side of the team. He doesn't choose the players or the plays that are run. If the Pegulas want to make a profit, they will keep him there since he has done well at that. As for Whaley, most people agree he has done well through the draft. But don't kid yourself if you don't think he had a say on drafting EJ. I still think EJ can develop because he was a project (and I am an FSU fan who watched him a lot in college). Whaley should still lead this team because he and Nix have built something we have not had for years - depth. Marrone is the question mark although I like some of the conflict that happens. That means he is challenging players and they are challenging him. Just like the Bickering Bills. overall he has been able to make tough decisions that have worked out ie Orton. Hackett is my only concern. But his job has not been easy with all the QB changes and porous guard play. I understand why Urbik was not playing (normally we would have had more injuries by now). But I applaud them making the switch. A major injury to Wood would really hurt us as guards would not have had enough playing time if Urbik has to step in. If the Bills miss playoffs, I would think a lot about just getting rid of Hackett and keeping everybody else. I think they need a bit more plays that stretch the field early to loosen up the run and short passes. It only seems like we are losing when that happens. Last week was an exception because of the poor corner play early in the game freeing woods and Watkins
  2. I am cheering for San diego. I still think they get a wild card spot so I want them to beat up on any teams we will be competing with. Also it helps in tiebreakers with Miami in case we lose to them on the thursday night game (which shouldn't happen but any given thursday...) Agree with cheering for the jets this week but unlikely for them to beat the Chiefs. Only good news is that jets run D is good and should slow down Charles and co. Alex smith is still questionable as a qb at best. Could be a closer game than people think. And don't think that Vick won't want this one against Andy Reid.
  3. Nice find. I honestly didn't see this earlier. Should have posted it yesterday.
  4. Agreed. I have thought since last year that Hackett was not an offensive coordinator in the nfl. Actually when I heard he was with the team the year the bills fired Turk Shonert, I knew we were in trouble. We know how long he lasted. I am a fan of Marrone's no non-sense approach but Hackett needs to have a better gameplan or he may be the only one shown the door next year.
  5. His college coach never said that EJ couldn't make it. He only spoke to the Bills. They would not have spent a first rounder if he said that. Someone made it up to get publicity and make Bills management look bad.
  6. I know everybody agrees we got away with one against the Vikings. We won a game we were supposed to - just not in the way we should have. There is a lot to like though. There have been many games when we were the inferior team and wouldcollapse at the end. Just think Monday night Cowboys game and a bunch of patriots games where we should have won but the better team found a way to win. This win is a sign of improvement of playing in the clutch - a much needed thing to make it to playoffs. This is a stepping stone.
  7. Can anyone clarify why the Bills were not allowed to advance the ball off the muffed punt in the 4th quarter against Miami? Thanks
  8. What was your favorite hit against the fish yesterday? My top 3 are: 1. Searcy tackle of tannehill on 4th down 2. Robey hit on Moreno 3. Woods great special teams tackle in 3rd quarter. I was surprised that great tackle was made by him. My vote is Woods. He was full speed when he made contact. Thoughts? Other hits that come to mind?
