I’m not saying he played well, but did he really have most of his tackles 7-10 yards down the field, or are you just rolling with the same argument that had been used in the past and just assumed it’s true here?

Here is what really happened last week.

Not when they are 7 to ten yards down field. All tackles are not the same.

He has played well this season until last week. He really was bad. He took horrible angles and was blocked several yards downfield on multiple occasions.

Two things can be true. He has played well and he had a bad game.

Let's hope he has a good game today without Milano on the field.

Here is an evaluation of Edmunds game last week - with video.

here are some participation stats from 18-19 school year. Pre-COvID.

But the NFHS numbers on boys in 11-player tackle football show some trends that football’s supporters shouldn’t ignore:

Participation is at its lowest level since 1999-2000 (1,002,734).

At this rate, participation could fall below 1 million next year. 1998-99 (983,625) was the last year that happened.

About 22% of boys in high school sports participation in 11-player tackle football. In the 1998-2000 period I reference in the first two items, that participation rate was more than 26% — meaning where once one in four boys played, now we’re moving toward one in five.

The average number of boys per school in 11-player football in 2018-19 was 70.6. At the sport’s participation peak in 2008-09, that average was 79. (That includes all levels — varsity, junior varsity and freshman.)

Data shows there definitely has been a drop off in participation.

The explanation for the drop off is conjecture. Surely there are some kids that don't participate due to parental objection.

Another explanation could be that in recent years children's activities have been more sedentary. Where older generations grew up playing outdoors (year round), nowadays kids play indoors and mostly computer type games.

I would speculate that a large percentage of the drop off is that a lot of kids just aren't interested in making the effort.

    IMO - YMMV

Man, you gotta read the thread

This is not true in the California legal system

    Quote

"In California, it is illegal for someone 18 or older to have sex with someone younger than 18, even if the sex is consensual. This is considered statutory rape under state law. Statutory rape laws are based on the assumption that minors are incapable of giving informed consent to sexual activities."

  5. Some people here don't seem to understand that:

    1. Simply attending a party (regardless of age) does not imply girls/women are fair game sexually.

    2. No means no. Just because a woman consents to oral sex does not equate to "anything goes sexually" after that.

    3. Rape is rape regardless of the age of the victim.

This whole situation is very disappointing.

Normally I would agree with this but they are on a college campus, she said she went to the name of a college (which was also a name of a high school) and it's not like she is 15 she probably looked the same age as everyone else at that party. So it's ok if she is a few months older (18) but it's rape and let's lock him up and throw away the key because she's a few months younger? He was 21, they probably look to be around the same age. If a senior can't date a freshmen (same age difference) then probably every single one of my college friends would be in jail right now. And even then, under California law it's only a misdemeanor. It's not as cut and dry as you are suggesting in this particular instance

So, what you are saying is that if she was 18 or older that would negate GANG RAPE?

Rape is rape regardless of the age of the victim !!!

The faux outrage while still shouting go Bills is delicious. I’m here for it. It’s ok guys, embrace the sickness.

    I am outraged.

I can show that outrage by not watching games that Watson plays in. I have heard of Browns fans who are finding other teams to root for.

Likewise, I do not punish all of my children because one of them was bad.

Would you punish the whole family if only one misbehaved?

The dome or no dome discussion seems to have gone down a new cul-de-sac. I thought the original essence of it was to have the stadium (if funded by public referendum) (and probably if downtown) be available for year round events, thus getting more return on the investment. Now that it’s going in Orchard Park and the funding is secured, are there really that many people who still want it to be completely indoors? Really? Speaking as a once long time season ticket holder, but admittedly no longer living in WNY, I loved sitting outside and the experience would only be better if I wasn’t getting wet. I never minded the occasional snow…that was actually fun.

ME TOO - when I was younger.

Frankly, the stadium experience becomes too difficult for aging fans.

Cold, hard seats, bathrooms too far and lines too long, etc. That's why I for the last several years,  I'd get my fix going to training camp. But that seems to be a thing of the past too.

Well, at least geezers like me have our memories.

Tried to get 2 tickets to 7/30 practice and it said only 1 remaining and so I tried to add that to cart and it freaked out and kicked me out. Are people really scalping training camp tickets? Jeez how sad

Any idea when the Fri night practice at the stadium tickets will come out? That's what I was really hoping to get but they aren't on there. This is just for the SJF practices it seems

How long did you have to wait in line? How many ahead of you?

I have been online for 20 minutes now and it says I have 4739 ahead of me. Anyone else have so many ahead of them?
