  1. Although they gave up a lot more to get him I think the move was smart by the GM and Coach. They gave up nothing in this years draft because they know that with a new owner coming in they may not be able to slowly build this team. Heck they may clean house if they don't win. I think this was a move where they had to give up more to not include picks in this years draft because everyone claims its so deep and the GM and coach did not believe they could wait till next year to get the other pieces they need to make it a contending team.
  2. They are almost as fast as the Al Davis Raiders. Also as successful
  3. Why cant the Bills have both Jackson and Johnson to go along with Woods. Then you draft Ebron. Have Goodwin bring in speed off the bench. That looks like good speed and depth. If your worried about the redzone the combo of Chandler and Ebron in a double tight set is tough to match up with. I like Evans so if they go that way I would not bring in Britt or Jackson, but if were going to bring in Britt who why not get Jackson. Same thing at guard. We signed Chris Williams a top 20 Guard for 4 years 13.5 million when Geoff Schwartz signed a 4 year 16.8 and is a top 5 free agent guard. When we have cap space if were going to bring in someone bring in the best available.
  4. If the Bills can convince other teams they are drafting Ebron then get who they really want plus extra picks that would be great (just like last years trade was the right move)
  5. It seems like it is easier to find an OT in free agency or later in the draft then a #1 WR. If the bills wanted to they could have grabbed Albert and been fine at OT, but what WR could they have grabbed and been set at the #1 WR (Steve Smith D-JAX Decker) I wouldn't consider any of these guys #1. So although drafting a WR like Evans is risky I think with our cap space and ability if we valued linemen to sign one, we should roll the dice and hope we get a guy like AJ Green or Julio Jones like we should have in 2011
  6. I'd rather trade a pick to the Eagles for DeSean Jackson. I love the idea of trading for Jackson The Bills have the cap space and I can't imagine the asking price is that high. Jackson Johnson Woods Goodwin would be nice. Grab one of those tight ends and with Spiller on the field that is a lot of speed. It probably will never happen but I will be interested to see what the Eagles get for him.
  7. Thanks for the research. Unfortunately you have more (4) positions that need round 1 or 2 needs then we have picks. I think based off of the fact that either there is a hole at the position or you can make a case that a key player could leave next year the Bills can pick best available player. I personally hope we take a wr ( I still remember passing up on Green and Jones for Darius and would hate to take an OT and miss out on a #1 again). I also would love to see a TE like Amaro or Seferian Jenkins slide to us in the second round. Then go LB DE OT OG over the rest of the draft Either way as Bills fans we have so many needs that any position is good fit, we just need to continue to build talent.
  8. I agree with a lot of what is being said in this post. I feel the Bills roster is as good as or better than the Dolphins and Jets. I also think we are getting better. One thing laugh at is that the Bills are dictating free agency. I doubt the Patriots signed Revis with the thought of how are we going to cover the Bills receivers. The Jets I'm sure wanted to Graham as their nickles back, but he is a nickle back not a game changing corner. At linebacker the Bills got a good backup in Rivers and a good run stuffer that can play on 2 downs in Spikes. I think both are good pick ups but i don't think think the Jets were interested in either player and is the reason why they resigned Pace. Finally when it comes to the Dolphins and their offensive line. I think their line is not strong, but is very similar to ours. Both teams have very good left tackles and centers, but have huge question marks at both guards and right tackle. To assume Chris Williams is going to be good just because we paid him to be and he was drafted high years ago doesn't make him. He has potential and it would be great to see him excel and Hairston get healthy. One final question. With all this talk about the Bills bringing in Britt ( I know he would not cost the bills much) would anyone rather see them give up more and get D-Jackson. We have the cap space. Go Bills
  9. If Williams ends up being better than Bryd as some have suggested that's great, but the question is if who ever takes the spot opposite of Williams is better than Bryd. I like the young group we got, but to rely on 2nd year or rookies with zero snap experience can't make us a better team next year. I still think we're going in the right direction. Go Bills
  10. The 49ers said after the draft that they tried to trade for Byrd, but were unable to work out a deal with the Bills because the Bills feared dropping to 30 they would not get the player they wanted (EJ). That is why they traded up to 18 with Dallas to get Reid. I understand that Byrd and Levitre signed bad contracts and if year after year the Bills were near the max of the salary cap and not carrying over cap space, letting bad contracts go would be fine. The Bills have added depth while creating a new hole. I just can't agree with the topic that the Bills are doing an excellent job in free agency when we have created more holes then we had last year when we were 6-10. All I am saying about Spiller is either he fits the system or doesn't. If he fits the system then he should be playing not Jackson. If he doesn't fit the system get a fourth or fifth round pick for him now, if you can, so that you can draft his without using one of your picks. We can't be a young rebuilding team while having a 33 year old running back getting the bulk of the carries. I think what we did with Wood and Williams is great and by not doing the same with Spiller either he doesn't want to be here or we are unsure about him. Either way it looks like he will end up the next guy in a long line of Bills top picks that leaves the Bills because he is over paid somewhere else and the Bills have to use a draft pick not to improve the team, but to fill a hole.
  11. All I am saying is that the needs we have in 2014 we drafted in 2009 in the first two rounds (Maybin Levitre and Byrd). If you dont keep the players we draft or draft the right players then you have to get them somewhere else. That could be through trade or free agency or by adding more picks when you realize that a player "doesnt want to be here" so that when a player leaves you can draft his position and add other players. That is how you rebuild a roster. All the Bills have done over the last 10 years is draft a player let him go 4 or 5 years later and have to re draft the same position
  12. I agree special teams is important. I also feel we should draft an O lineman Linebacker and Secondary player, but we just did that in 2009. Of those four players Wood Maybin Byrd and Levitre only one is here 5 years later thats not acceptable. I agree with the idea that you use free agency to back up your drafted players and play as stop gaps, but those drafted players have to be able to play in your system and stay here. Like I said before what is the plan with Spiller before we let him go get something for him that way you dont have to waste a 3rd round pick in 2 years on his replacement and can build on not build to replace. Yes there is a difference!
  13. If the bills had really planned for Bryd leaving this year they would have traded him to the 49ers last year and got something for him. As far as free agents go we better have good special teams this year because we signed a lot of special teamers too bad we plan on using them as starters I hope were going in the right direction. I hope EJ is the man, but if we are building for our future, why does Fred Jackson get more carries then Spiller and if CJ is not part of our future because he does not fit the system then why not learn from the Byrd mistake of not taking a mid round pick and trade CJ if we are letting him go soon anyways either because he doesnt fit our system or doesnt want to be here.
