Just in case you forgot......the Bills offense scored a point per minute of their possesion time in that game. Maybe if the Bills had the ball for more than 19 minutes, the game would have been different. That gmae was not on Kelly or the offense. That game was not on Norwood. That game was on the defense. PERIOD.

that Rueben Brown is a pretty good player
sven233 replied to bluenews's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I tell ya........I have been watching a lot of the Bears this year and I wish RB still played here. He is blowing open HUGE holes and leading the Bears Running Backs into the endzone. The Bears run behind Brown 85% of the time. Watch it during the Superbowl if you have not seen it already. Wherever RB goes, the Running Back will be right behind him whether it is a run to the left of if RB is pulling. Just keep an eye out for that. RB should still be a Bill. -
Just so you know, not all of them take or have taken drugs. I am not saying he didn't or did, but it is unfair to lump them all together like that. Also, here is some more information: More On The Passing Of 'Bam Bam' Bigelow Kocosports.com broke the story of the passing of former WWE Superstar Scott "Bam Bam" Bigelow earlier today. They have a few more details on his passing that WWE.com didn't report. Sources close to Bigelow told Kocosports.com the he had been missing for several days. And as noted before, he was found dead this morning in his home in Florida by his girlfriend around 10A.M hen she woke up. Furthermore, police are currently treating this as a crime scene.

Scott “Bam Bam” Bigelow Passes Away Posted by Larry Csonka on 01.19.2007 A sad day for wrestling fans... It is being reported by numerous sources, including WWE.com, that Scott "Bam Bam" Bigelow was found dead this morning in his home in Hudson, Florida at the age of 45. The Pasco-Pinellas Counties medical examiner has taken the body and an autopsy will be performed to determine the cause of death. Bigelow's career spanned over 20-years as he competed in Japan, WWE, ECW and WCW. Perhaps his biggest moment in professional wrestling happened in Wrestlemania 11 where he faced off against football great, Lawrence Taylor.

One thing I gotta say...regarding Losman and the
sven233 replied to John from Riverside's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Yeah.....I am still waiting for these "Superstar" QBs to be better than average so far in the Playoffs. Off the top of my head in the games played so far, I can't think of 1 FANTASTIC QB performance. Manning has been terrible for the most part, Brady did nothing to help his team beat SD the other day (that game is over if the CB doesn't fumble the ball after that INT), McNair looked washed up, etc. You could go on and on. If these are the QB performances it takes to get into and win Playoff games, we will be more than fine with Losman for the next 8-10 years! -
Just watched the Titans/Bills game on TIVO

Anyone who thinks that Willis is not running hard this year does not know what they are watching. You have to remember that, first of all, he is fast than he looks like he is running. Remember, this guy is 6'1" and about 235lbs!!!! That is a BIG RB! So, his mose are not going to look as fast as they really are because of his size. But if you watch the runs where he does break free a little bit, HE DOES OUTRUN PEOPLE AND IS FASTER THAN MOST PLAYER ON THE FIELD. He pulls away from defenders, well, for the first 40-45 yards or so. Then for some reason, he does get slower because his running technique changes because he is out of gas or something. But no matter, he is FASTER than you think and while he is not the fastest player in the league, he is FAST ENOUGH. Also, he has never been a back to want to chage hands with the football while running. Very rarely does he switch arms while running. So, asking him to do something that he VERY RARELY does anyway, is asking for more trouble than what it is worth. On that play, he was trying to get out of bounds to save time. Know the situation. And finally, the man RUNS HARD. Look at the TD last week. He was stopped at the 1 and POWERED into the endzone running over a guy in the process. There is a reason that most of the time you see 2-3 guys tackling him. He is too big and strong for 1 guy to tackle him most of the time. Look.....Willis may not be the best RB in the league, but he is VERY GOOD and could definately be a RB that can WIN you a Superbowl. It wold be a GREAT thing to have McGahee, Losman, and Evans as the cornerstone for this team for the next 7-10 years. With a little more help and on defense and the O-Line, this team will contend next year. But it is up to the organization to spend the money, overpay for a guy or 2 if necessary, and give this team a talent upgrade at a few positions. If it happens, I like this team's future. -
Yes....if we do win, someone will complain that all it does is hurt the draft position. But the fact is, sometimes WINNING AND BEATING A GOOD, PLAYOFF FOOTBALL TEAM, might do more good for a team than 1 or 2 draft spots. Some people just don't get that WINNING is the MOST IMPORTANT thing for a young football team.
-
How can you make a prediction already? We have the entire offeseason ahead of us! We have to find out who stays, who goes, who come in via Free Agency and the Draft, etc.! It is impossible to evaluate this team at this point for next season because there could be a pretty big turnover for all we know. How about waiting until training camp and the preseason to see what we have as a team. I am not saying we will be any better or worse than we are now, but until all the above actually happens, nobody knows what this team is going to look like yet.

The point is, 29 points in this weather, AT HOME, against an average football team with a ROOKIE QB should have been MORE THAN ENOUGH. If you score 29 points at home with this weather, the defense should have no problem holding a team under that. Our defense is just not good enough. Too bad we don't have a couple big run stuffers in the middle like Sam Adams or Pat Williams...............OOPS!
-
It has nothing to do with not trying an impossible feild goal..... It had nothing to do with poor playcalling on the last couple drives..... WE LOST THIS GAME BECAUSE OUR DEFENSE IS NOT GOOD ENOUGH. PERIOD. If you score 29 points on offense, AT HOME, you should win 100% of those games. The defense lost us this game, plain and simple. If you can stop an average football team with a ROOKIE QB from scoring more than 29 points, you don't deserve to win. Yes, could things have been better on offense at times? Sure. But that should not have mattered. This defenese is NOT GOOD ENOUGH TO WIN BIG GAMES. They can't stop the run which leads to lapses in coverage. The defense did not play well enough and they couldn't get the key stops when they needed to.....AGAIN. Now, with all that said, I do think the team as a whole has a bright future ahead of them. They need to get a run stuffing DT in here in the offseason and need to re-sign Nate. Their rookies need to get a little better and that will come with experience. But, I truly if they upgrade their DTs in the offeseson (give me 2 big run stuffers and get rid of Anderson), this defense will be immediately improved. If we force runs to the outside and let our speedy DEs and LBs run, we will stop the run much more successfully. And doing that makes your pass defense better by default if you can force teams to throw the ball. The defensive line is TOO LIGHT AND TOO SOFT right now and they get blown off the ball way to easily. Fix this and you will improve the defense immediately. Yes, the offense has its problems as well, but I believe that they are getting better and will be pretty explosive next year. They need 1 or 2 offensive lineman that can knock someone off the ball and they need a bigger receiver threat. A big target would really help in the redzone. All they have is small, fast guys (which is good for most of the field, but in the redzone, it is nice to have a big target). So, there are some areas to fix, but overall, things are pretty good. But, make no mistake about it.......if you score 29 points at home in these conditions, you should win 100% of those games.

This has not been working. The guy who streams the Bills game is in the blackout area and has nto shown the last 2 blacked out games. It is too bad......... All this technology and we still can't watch the freaking game......and what makes it worse is that we can't watch the game because 4000 measly tickets didn't sell. We will have 70,000 people there in a stadium that us WNY citizens pay for and the game can't be shown on TV. How is this right?
-
Yup........I have been one to defend the rivalry for MANY years now. I will hate the stinking Dolphins until the day I die. But the fact is, if we can't sell out this game given the fact that the playoffs are still a possibility (as remote as the chances may be), then the rivalry will officially be DEAD. Yes, it will still exist to a few of us "diehard and extreme" fans, but as far as it being a recognized rivalry to the general public, it will be dead. Maybe it has been dead for a while now, but if this game against the Dolphins does not sell out, it will be the last nail in the coffin. This is a game that has sold out every time no matter how bad the Bills have been through the years. And now, with the playoffs still a possibility in DECEMBER, it isn't looking good. I don't think that there is a chance to sell this out. That is a real dissapointment.

I wanted Brick probably more than anyone on this board, but Schobel owned him all day. I hope it happens for years to come. However, if you have watched the Jets at all this year, Brick has been performing very well overall this year. He will be a solid LT for many years to come. I still wish we would have goten him......could you imagine having Brick on one side and Peters on the other? Talk about a dominant duo for years to come. Oh well......didn't happen. Let's hope Schobel owns him for the rest of his career!!!!
-
Yeah......at one point, I was wondering if he was even playing in the game........I didn't hear his name once today! McGahee is the man!
-
Yeah....that is why the last 2 home games have sold out and the Dolphins' game is almost sold out......... Oh wait.....the last 2 1:00 games have been blacked out and there are still 7000 tickets remaining for our biggest rival.......well, they used to be a rival anyway.....
-
The were the great football fans in the world...........80,000 STRONG..... And now we can't evern sell 74,000 tickets....not even to a Miami game. Sad if you think about it.......
-
Well, I haven't wanted to say it because I still hate the Dolphins, but if this game does not sell out, the rivalry will officially be dead. According to reports, there are still 7000 tickets remaining for this game. Those will be tough to sell in 2 weeks during the Christmas season. The fact is, the Dolphins' games have always been among the first to sell out because of the rivalry. Granted, over the last few years neither team has been great, but everyone still bought tickets based on principle. The debate has been ongoing for a while now whether it is still a great rivalry. Well, I think we may have our answer in less than 2 weeks. If this game does not sell out, the rivalry can be officially be declared DEAD. And that is a shame...............

Ready for all the "We should have drafted Cutler!"
sven233 replied to sven233's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
It will take some time for Denver fans to enjoy this selection. But, I do think that he will be a good QB in the future. And, I also agree that all of Denver's problems can't be put on the QB, but that is how the average fan thinks. I mean, look at people on this board and other boards. There are a lot of people who say it is JP's fault when we lose and then give him too much credit when we win. It is somewhere in the middle, but the QB is the MOST WATCHED person on the team, so I guess it is to be expected. The fact is, Losman is improving and Cutler will improve as well. I think they both will be very good QBs in this league. -

OK. So, if Losman is not the guy, who is? You can't just come in here saying that Losman is terrible, that he is not the future, that he will never get the job done, and not have a plan. So, you must KNOW who will turn the franchise around. So, who is it? You have to have a plan if you are saying Losman is not the guy. This team, after a couple of key pickups in the offseason (if they do pick up some talent) WILL be a playoff team next season with Losman as QB. They are on pace for where I thought they would be this season......8-8. Give or take a game, this will be a successful season and will put this team in a great mindset heading into next season. If your plan does not include a playoff birth next year, an old QB, or a new project, then your plan is crap. Who are you going to bring in that is better than Losman and that will be our QB of the future (the next 5-8 years)? We don't need any short term solutions. -
You must be kidding.........you guys haven't stopped McGahee since he came into the league! He is averageing about 140 ypg against you and your girl Vilma. If Willis played the Jets every week, he would have like 4000 yards rushing! Why don't you try containing him first. Maybe you could hold him to like 135 this week. Nah...........probably not!

Agreed. I think Cutler will be a very good QB in the league. But he is not what the Bills needed last year (some may argue, including me, that Whitner was not what we needed last year either), but we are where we are. We are getting better as a team, but we do need more talent. -

That's funny.......I seem to remember Losman WINNING his first game and playing pretty well. So, if you want to compare Cutler's first start to anything, you have to compare it to Losman's first start. Here is a hint......only one of them WON. Also, the fact is, right now, Cutler has a much better team around him than JP does. Remember, Denver was 7-4 with a fantastic defense. So, Cutler is playing on a better overall team. Now, I am not saying Losman is the next Hall of Fame QB in Buffalo, but if you can't see that he is a better and different player this year, then you don't know what you are watching. He is growing up as a QB (especially over the last 4 weeks). His game is evolving and he is starting to find out what he has to do to be successfull (ex. running for 2 3rd downs yesterday and a couple others the last few weeks, becoming a leader in the huddle, etc.). He still has a LONG way to go. But his talent is strating to come out and players are now believing that he can get it done. He needs some more help though. He needs 2 more offensive lineman that can really play (pass block and run block......if they were to get better linemen up front that could actually open a hole for Willis to run through to provide Losman a consistant running game), a solid #2 receiver (PP isn't good enough), and a run stuffing DT that can get the defense off the field faster to give him more opportunities to scrore points. I guess this is what the offseason is for........hopefully they get these needs filled. -

Man, you don't have to call this the "worst thread ever." It was a joke. You know that if Denver had won that game, there would have been people saying that. Don't take things so seriously guys. You know me better than that. Just trying to have some fun on a day that could have.....probably should have been much better. We let another one get away here. -
Cutler is the greatest!!!!! Just lead his first 4th quarter comeback in his FIRST GAME!!!!! HE IS THE GREATEST! HE HAS "IT!" I know. He threw a 7 yard pass and the WR broke a gazillion tackles. But you know people are going to say he is already better than Losman. Fast is, he has been awful tonight, but if Denver ends up winning this game, get ready for all the "See........I told you we should have drafted Cutler" threads! He has "IT!"
