I'm going to have to disagree with this as I did not see Kohou covering anybody.
Well, it's hard to argue against this.

Ramsey is a boundary corner and Kohou is more of a slot corner. It may not have made much difference but Kohou covered Diggs because Ramsey was out.

Yea not more aggressive in terms of blitzing. I think they are being a bit more 'creative' in their rush package though. Think that is the word rather than aggressive.
Simulated pressures by McD. Hyde's interception against Washington as an example.

I mean I'm glad our guy got it, but still little surprised the Colts kicker didn't get it what with him going 5/5 in FGs including the game winner in OT.
Oh of the month that makes more sense I thought it was for the week.
The Colts kicker had a great game. 4 of his FG's were 50+ yards including GW.

Curious to know if Kincaid was running the right depth per the Bills. Bad route running or bad route design? Maybe a rookie playing his first game making rookie mistakes.

I really can't bring myself to care about this game. I expect to win, but won't be shocked if we lose. Even if we win, it still won't answer solve any of the concerns I have about Josh and Dorsey because the Raiders aren't a team that would create the challenges those two can't seem to overcome.
I'm in a crap mental state and I'll own it. I need Josh to prove he can take the easy stuff, and there aren't many teams that will make him do that. Until those games happen, I just feel blah
Got to flush the Jets game. Onto the Raiders. It's a long season. Gotta hope that EVERYONE saying Allen sucked has sunk in and he'll stop playing like a dumb *****. Only one person controls it and it's 17.

And this adds to the coaching decisions at OP. Everywhere he looks, Josh is being shredded. I don't think he's the kind to deal with bad press well. I am seriously concerned about Sunday because of this, the added pressure and everyone lining up to have a pop, what it's going to do to him.
The coaches will be wanting to understandably lay into him about yesterday as well, but is that the right response considering the outside noise? What is the correct reaction? They have to get it right, otherwise the Bills could lose to the Raiders and the season, possibly even Josh himself, will be at risk of spiralling.
Am I being melodramatic? I don't think so. A lot of us have been saying the coaching team is part of the problem, as they don't know how to manage him. If this is an accurate assessment, then they may not react adequately to the issue.
Allen ***** up last night and he owned it in the post game presser. So that box is checked. The Bills won't listen to the press. Allen has been here before. IIRC he had a terrible game against Pats at home 8n 2019 ? He was knocked out of the game with a concussion. Anyway he came back the next game and there was noticeable improvement in his game.

Wow the knives have really come out after Allen has a terrible game. For only the 2nd time in the last 3+ seasons (2020,2021,2022 & 2023) you can lay a loss directly on Allen. The other being the Jacksonville game. There isn't a QB in the NFL over the last 5 years who hasn't had games like this and that includes Mahomes & Burrow.
I guess you have to ignore that the hype about the Jet's defense was real. They're either the best or 2nd best D in the NFL.
Allen was very bad last night. But so was Burrow & Watson and Mahomes was average. Even the best will have nights like last night. Get back to me with the venom if after 5 games Allen plays like that in 3 of them and the Bills are 1 - 4. Right now this thread is a massive overreaction.
I understand your point but folks are pointing back to the end of last season as well. Not just last night. Allen has not played particularly well in quite a few games now.

I’m sick of his postgame ‘I have to be better’ and then he isn’t.Without a major change to coaching, I don’t see it being any different. He loves hero ball.
I haven't listened to post game bs in years. I let their play do the talking.

He doesn't recognize that sometimes you don't have to make the big play. FGs and clock management would have won this game. The Jets have a really good defense. You have to control the clock and take what they give you.
All the above plus take care of the ball. He failed to be patient and smart.

Burrow just passed for 82 yards and led his team to 3 points with Chase, Higgins and Boyd as his 3 WR's and against a lesser secondary. Allens playoff stats dwarf Burrows too.
So why is he not in the same category? Because he had a bad game himself or just because Burrows defense carried him to a Super Bowl?
Burrow did hurt his calf and missed most of the preseason. Maybe people are giving him a pass. Plus can you recall Burrow do some stupid things that Allen did tonight? Me neither

Clean games from Allen are hard to recall. Just a completed deep ball would be a welcomed surprise lately. He was good against Miami in the snow. Other than that, you’d have to go back to last October. The Bills offense is struggling in general the past half season or so. Nothing seems to come easy. Looks like opposing teams have figured out Dorsey's scheme and keep Allen from scrambling as much.

Gotta be honest… he looked pretty damn average the first two games of 2021 before having a monster game against Washington in Week 3 and turning ***** around.
But yea… no ducking clue what it is with him.
Allen's issues I believe are two fold. He's over confident in his abilities which lead to bad decisions, and he feels pressure to make a play because the offense is stalling. On the first interception, it looked like he easily could have run for a first down.

They are legitimately not going to be fine with a QB getting worse every single week. Especially when he's a highly paid QB.
We are looking at a Broncos-type season if Allen doesn't wake the ***** up.
I'm trying to remember the last game Allen looked good. Not last night or the two playoff games. Too lazy to look it up.

The Bengals, in my opinion.
They were steamrolled by a remarkably average (though solid) Browns team.We lost to the best defense in the NFL because our QB switched brains with Nathan Peterman.
Burrow missed a lot of the preseason which does matter. Their defense played pretty well. Burrow is 1 - 5 against the Brown's. Some teams just match up better.

I'm trying to separate myself from expectations. It's not easy.
I lived through the Kelly years, and now we have Josh Allen. Odds are that we're unlikely to get another incredible QB again in my lifetime -so, I really just want to enjoy every game that Allen plays, and the time that we have him.
My energy is definitely different this year because of that. I'm just low-key about the whole thing. I'm less invested in the outcome of winning it all, and more living in the moment & just trying to enjoy each week.
I do enjoy watching 17 play! Some of his throws are just jaw dropping.

More like energy conservation for me. Looking forward to the season but know it's a long season. Much can happen between now and January. Trying to stay even keel regardless of what happens.

Dolphins called timeout.
Thanks. I was watching red zone and they cut away to another game right as the announcing crew thought Chargers called timeout and not Miami.

Jackson, the guy with the INT in the endzone that brought it out as well as getting called for the interference at the end of the first half, is a flat out dunce of a football player.
True but Staley the head coach is a bigger dunce. Right before the interference call, Herbert slid in bounds on 3rd down with a moving game clock with 14 seconds. Instead of letting the game clock running down to 5 seconds before calling timeout, he called a TO with 14 seconds. Chargers kicked a FG and left time for Miami to score before half thanks to Jackson the other dunce.

The most impressive thing to me about Dalton Kincaid are his football instincts.
He has great awareness of everything that's going on around him and he always seems to make great decisions, whether instinctively or thoughtfully... when to fight for more yardage, when to go down, when to accelerate out of the catch, when to stop on the catch, when to turn upfield, when to flatten his path, when to look for the ball, his ability to track the ball...
His measurables are very good and he's an excellent athlete but the thing that separates him from comparable athletes are his football instincts.
He does have good football instincts. I also like his basketball experience. Some of the better TEs were former basketball players. Antonio Gates and Tony Gonzalez to name a couple.
