  1. I think the winning bid will be Pegula at 1.35 Billion. I do think that Bon Jovi's group will bid 1.5, but knowing that they are a Toronto group Mary Wilson stays with the local guy and gives it to Pegula.

i'm sure its been asked and answered elsewhere, but a couple people now have implied that the trust will give a "hometown" discount to keep the Bills in Buffalo. Is this even allowed? Doesn't the trust have to give it to the highest bidder, regardless of their intentions to relocate the team?

also, people have listed multiple bids, along with the winner. i somehow doubt we will ever know everyone that submitted a bid, much less the amount....this isn't a public auction. in fact, we probably won't know that many details on the winning bid.

that said, i'm going with the Jacobs family. $1.12B. Although, I'm rooting for Pegula.

  2. I was just thinking about it; what else could possibly be his motivation? Why would he liquidate that unless he wanted to be in position to be a cash buyer?

could be market conditions, the price of natural gas, etc. might not have anything to do with the Bills. don't mean to be a downer...just stating facts. you get rich by buying when the time is right...and selling when the time is right

  3. Sorry I don't see why the love for Goodwin. 12 games, 17 catches. 22 yards per KO return, longest return 28 yards. Nothing in those numbers say he will be anything but a Flash in the Pan. IF he can get to 50 catches this year you can talk. Other than that he is just another smurf like Roscoe and TJ. He would do well just to get to Roscoe's numbers.

don't forget, except for top 5 WR picks, generally WR takes 2-3 years to develop in this league.

  4. It they went to Toronto they would lose everyone on the American side of the border. If they go to LA, they will lose everyone in Ontario and WNY.

LA is a much bigger market than Ontario and WNY, which is the reason they would move. we can fret and speculate all we want, but the fans concerns don't matter when it comes to the billions at stake here.

for the record: i'm a die-hard fan who doesn't want them to leave.

  5. how about the rule that a tackle has to be "covered"? i think its stupid that a WR lined up 20 yards from a tackle has to be either a yard forward or backward. i'm sure people will disagree with me, i think the rule was in place for arcane reasons that no longer apply

  6. i think your issue goes far beyond in game injury reports, and extends into "any breaking news report ever" in this case.

i've heard lots of sideline reporters say something to the effect that "the official word from the team is questionable for player X". what's the point of saying something is official, when it does not seem to be based on any type of fact?

  7. any coincidence he went to a team where pot is legal?

it's still against league policy. that trumps state/federal/local law. if he tests positive for it, it doesn't matter its legal, he faces the NFL's policy on banned substances

  8. Been saving this rant for a while. The only bigger joke in the NFL than the regular injury report during the week, is the in-game report.

    Case in point from yesterday:

--Moreno was called "probable" after he went out, and never returned

--Sherman was called "doubtful" as he's being carted off with 5 minutes remaining (was next shown in street clothes on crutches)

Usually, questionable means they are gone for the game, probable means its 50/50, and doubtful means they are probably gone for a few games after the current game.

I would have to watch through a bunch more games for more specifics, but the in-game injury reporting is useless.

  9. 4. Marino --- Guy had the fastest release I have ever seen.

    5. Kelly --- He was snake bit by facinf some of the best D the league ever seen, and he started the hurry up that almost every team uses

Marino was an excellent passer, but never really won anything. Kelly was a great leader but still couldn't win the big one (hurts me to type that but its true).
