  1. The survival of Ukraine is a good thing. Biden helped save a nation. Unlike the Republicans in Congress (not all) , who, at Trump's behest, held off supply these freedom fighters. Horrible. Biden helped save Ukraine while Trump called the invasion a "genius" move by Putin
  2. Big Bernie Sanders supporter! Ya! 🤣
  3. Well, Trump's buddy Putin sure killed a lot of people. We can agree that Putin is evil, right?
  4. Oh they did, they told Putin to stop his murderous invasion, but Putin seems confident he will get all he wants from Trump, so the killing continues
  5. It's tough. But remember, there are many, many other good animals out there in shelters needing a loving family. When my last cat died (I had him 19 years) I went right out and got this one, and am happy I did. Replacing the old goofball with the new one.
  6. It's not easy being a Sabres fan 🥲
  7. Ok, fair enough. I'd take the F4U, the single engine planes were just better dogfighters.
  8. I made a tiny mistake and you have written all these silly, angry, frustrated words about it. Why? Maybe you are doofus? And on a side bar, which plane was a better dog fighter, p-38 or F4u?
  9. Had to look it up, it’s a doozy! lol —— Jackson Hinkle (born September 15, 1999)[7] is an American political commentator and influencer[8] who hosts the web television show Legitimate Targets with Jackson Hinkle on X(formerly Twitter). He is known for his support of Vladimir Putin in the Russo-Ukrainian War,[13] and for his opposition to Israel in the Gaza–Israel conflict.[16] Hinkle has dubbed himself an "American Conservative Marxist–Leninist",[17]while journalists have described him as conservative,[18][19] right-wing,[11][20] and far-right.[15][21] Promoting a syncretic mix of conservative and communist ideas, he is a self-described proponent of "MAGA communism", calling on those who support the working class to ally with the MAGA movement against an alleged globalist threat.[22][23] Initially an environmentalistduring his high school years,[24] Hinkle has turned to promoting pro-fossil fuels stances in recent years.[17]
  10. But a neighborhood is not a city, just a small section. Get real, dope
  11. I don't recall a city getting burned down. Yada yada
  12. JFK: Victory has a thousand fathers, defeat is a lonely orphan https://www.washingtonpost.com/world/2024/12/09/syria-war-news-israel-hamas-gaza-lebanon/ In an address Monday, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said the collapse of the regime of Bashar al-Assad in Syria was “a direct result of the blows” Israeli forces “have dealt to Hamas, Hezbollah and Iran.” “As I promised, we are reshaping the Middle East,” Netanyahu said. The regime’s fall has further isolated Hamas, he said. Israeli forces have moved from the Israeli-occupied Golan Heights into the demilitarized strip between Israel and Syria, and into Syrian territory beyond, in what Israel’s defense minister said Monday was a bid to “eliminate potential threats.” ______ The crumbling of Bashar al-Assad’s regime in Syria is bound up in Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said Monday in a statement posted to Telegram. He called for “steadfast support” from Ukraine’s partners. He credited Assad’s ouster to a lack of support from Russia, a key Assad ally, because of its focus on fighting in Ukraine. If “Ukraine falls, Putin will return to Syria to take revenge,” Zelensky said. === Hayat Tahrir al-Sham, the militant group that led the push to topple the regime of Syrian president Bashar al-Assad, announced on Monday “a general amnesty for all military personnel conscripted under compulsory service” to fight for the Assad government. “Their lives are safe and no one may assault them,” the group said in a statement. Austria, Denmark, Germany, Norway and Sweden announced Monday that all decisions on open Syrian asylum claims have been frozen, a move that affects thousands. German Interior Minister Nancy Faeser said in a post on X that she supports the decision by Germany’s Federal Office for Migration and Refugees, “given this unclear situation.” Since 2011, about 1 million people have fled Syria to Germany. This is pretty big, the refugree crisis that has fueled a lot of right wing passion in Europe might get a brake. Putin loses a big weapon to influence Europe and Africa. Syrian families and other refugees have begun the journey back to the country many of them fled over a decade ago at the outbreak of civil war. Photos from after Bashar al-Assad’s regime fell Sunday show men, women and children waiting at border crossings from Lebanon, Turkey and Jordan. Those returning to Syria face an uncertain future, and it’s not clear how many are choosing to come home. The International Organization for Migration, a United Nations agency, said Monday that no precise number is available because “the situation is evolving by the minute.” “While this is a time of great hope, it’s winter in Syria, and the needs are enormous,” the IOM added. “The country’s infrastructure has been devastated, and we need to ensure people have shelter, food, health care, water and protection services.” On Sunday, Bachir Khodr, governor of the Baalbek-Hermel region of Lebanon, claimed that “thousands” of Syrians and Lebanese had crossed the border from Syria, while pro-Hezbollah social media groups shared requests for people to open their doors.
  13. Nice thread on what this means for Russia
  14. I guess, for the same reason who want corporate executives to? Someone has to decide, right?
  15. Insurance companies have to make decisions about who gets care and who doesn't which is a life and death decision. I guess those left hanging might consider it "murder" if they have a loved one die.
  16. Who? Trump or Musk? I give Musk a lot of credit for what he has accomplished. Truly a person of importance in our time. That article I posted was not negative about him, it was more descriptive of his companies incredibly game changing technology. Trump just inherited wealth and lost it, several times. I don't disagree. This was aimed at Tommy who acts like Trump is a true populist and is in there for the regular guy.
  17. Assad’s prospects began to deteriorate, almost unnoticed at first, amid the fighting between Israel and Hezbollah in the aftermath of Hamas’s Oct. 7, 2023, terrorist attack. By decimating Hezbollah’s leadership and destroying much of its military capability, Israel undermined an essential pillar in Assad’s security infrastructure. Syria’s other benefactors, Iran and Russia, had become distracted meanwhile by problems elsewhere, including Moscow’s war against Ukraine.
  18. Washpost: Amid a rebel offensive that stunned the Syrian regime and led to major losses of territory, the 42-year-old man leading it made a surprising strategic decision: He used his real name. In an official message Thursday after its fighters entered Hama, the Hayat Tahrir al-Sham (HTS) Islamist militant group shared a message that was signed Ahmed al-Sharaa — the birth name of a rebel leader better known by his nom de guerre, Abu Mohammed al-Jolani. Get concise answers to your questions. Try Ask The Post AI. The move marks a broader shift for Jolani. Once a shadowy figure who rarely showed his face, Jolani served time in a U.S. prison in Iraq before becoming the commander of an al-Qaeda affiliate in Syria’s brutal, multipronged civil war. Even now, there is a $10 million U.S. reward for information that leads to his capture. But in recent weeks, Jolani has become the public face of the most successful rebel advance in Syria in years, credited as the driving force behind a stunning offensive that captured Syria’s second-largest city, Aleppo, from forces loyal to Syrian President Bashar al-Assad.
  19. Good point on the land lines. Maybe Israel played some sort of role in helping initiate this. And Anything that reduces Russia’s reach is a good thing, especially if it hinders their submarine operations
