  1. Well there are obviously exceptions. I always thought year 3 was the big breakout year for a WR. Give it time.
  2. I always go to Township Grille. They have a Bills buffet in a relatively large banquet type room. If you get there a bit early (30-45 minutes), you should be fine to get a seat. I've been to Tavern on the Tracks, but its insanely packed with "regulars", meaning that all of the seats are taken and you are relegated to their porch area, where it is hard to see the TV screens with the glare of the sun. Did not realize Vinnies was a Bills gathering spot, and I have no idea about the place in Cornelius.
  3. Thats really not a bad point at all. The Bills obviously can't plan on going into the season with a top 3 of Evans-Reed-Parrish, so you have to imagine they are targeting one of the big 4 (Thomas, Sweed, Hardy, Kelly) either with #11 or are planning on trading back into the 1st...
  4. Now: Eric King. Classmate of mine at THE Wake Forest University. All-time: Sam Cowart. One of the most talented LB I have seen suit up for the Bills. It was a shame he couldn't stay healthy for us.
  5. I was going to post something similar to this earlier, but on a much smaller scale. I think Donovan McNabb would be a great comparison. I know Donovan is light years ahead right now, but check out the stats from his first year compared to JPs first year playing: McNabb: Year G GS Att Comp Pct Yards YPA Lg TD Int Tkld 20+ 40+ Rate 1999 12 6 216 106 49.1 948 4.39 63 8 7 28/204 7 1 60.1 JP: 2005 9 8 228 113 49.6 1340 5.88 58 8 8 26/197 15 6 64.9
  6. I live in Charlotte. I know there are a couple of Bills Backers clubs in the area. The only one that I have been to is Tavern on the Tracks, which is right near Uptown. I've never been there on gameday, but I've heard its tough to get a seat if you come too close to kickoff. The place is awesome for Buffalo fans. There are Bills and Sabres jerseys on the walls, and tons of other paraphenalia of those teams and Buffalo itself. The menu also has some Buffalo food items on it (Beef on Weck, Buffalo wings, etc). I believe there is another pretty good sized Bills Backers bar/restaurant in Matthews. Check the bills backers listings on the Bills official website for more info. Welcome to Charlotte! Edit: See link above for listing I was talking about.
  7. Interesting comparison with Eli Manning. My roommate is an Eagles fan so I've been having some conversations with him about how Donovan McNabb was his rookie year (it seems JP and McNabb have similar styles: athletic qbs with questionable throwing accuracy). JP has had an up and down year just like McNabb did in 1999 (with a bad eagles team similar to this years bad bills team). Anyway, here are the stats: McNabb: 106-216, 49.1%, 948 yds, 4.39 YPA, 8 TD, 7 Int, 60.1 Rating Losman: 113-228, 49.6%, 1340 yds, 5.88 YPA, 8 TD, 8 Int, 64.9 Rating These stats look eerily similar to me. I know that this doesn't mean that JP will turn out like Donovan McNabb, but the situation isn't as hopeless as some are making it out to be.
  8. I assume by local you mean GBO, and not Charlotte, right? Because I saw some dude PDAing like crazy with this chick on Friday night. That would be awesome if that was you.
  9. I have not actually seen Paulus play, but I did hear around the McD AA time this past spring that there is no way he would have been an AA if it weren't for the very weak class of 05. Take that FWIW, and I am a Wake fan, so I may have been reading some wishful thinking over on our board. I am not anticipating him being anything special, certainly not on someone like J Williams level. I'm sure he will be a solid player like the rest of their team.
  10. King is a pretty good cornerback. I've watched him for the last 4 years at school. He's short, but strong and is a good corner. I believe he was first team all-ACC this year even though WFU stinks. Kid can definitely play. As for the punt returns, he didn't do it, and he certainly is not better than Roscoe Parrish. He was our backup punt returner.
  11. JP has been great ever since we drafted him. He has been a model citizen, and seems very committed to the team and to winning. I have been very impressed with his work ethic and the way he has handled himself. Much better than was advertised before last years draft. That being said, there are a lot of nice guys that are lousy football players. Hopefully, everything will add up and click and he will have a great career here. I have confidence that it wil happen.
  12. I think the whole Donahoe / Pittsburgh thing has been getting beat a little too much over the past couple of years. I don't think TD will base his decisions just to spite Pittsburgh. If he wants Pork Chop, he'll give him an offer because he is a good player, not because Pittsburgh might.
  13. Wake Forest University: BS/MS (Accounting) in 2005. Two more months! Go Deacs!
  14. I don't know that TD has any specific thoughts in mind with the restructuring. I'm sure he just wants to do it because he can, and because it gives the team more flexibility in general to pursue Free Agents, sign our own players, etc.
