  1. I would imagine that woulds be one of the "exhange" issues. Since you can't stop the operation of a football team for any (prolonged) period, a sale price would be negotiated based on certain assets. This is what you buy. Then any other (significant) factors are adjusted for at the time of the actual sale. Much like School &/or Property taxes or possibly like fuel in a tank when you sell a home.

For instance, if they were to sign a player w/ a huge signing bonus, presumably the amt of the signing bonus that would be prorated fwd would therefore be an additional asset that would need to adjusted for. Likewise, something like a trade for Brady where his future salary doesn't reflect the true cost of his "use" would require an adjustment, ie it would raise the sale price.

  2. I assume those odds are for a SINGLE clover, ie 1 out of every 10,000 is 4 leaf rather than 3. So, when you look down, you're presumably seeing far more than just 1, maybe 20, maybe 100 (IDK how well you focus on those things).

Also, I'd add that those odds are in general. I suspect that like anything genetic, "families" skew the odds (ie ~10% of the population are lefties, but in my "close" family tree, the rate is over 50%), and since you're looking at a patch of clover, I think it's reasonable to assume they're "related".

  3. BufBud. Yes, I know their stated life expectancy is 7-8 yrs. The dog in my avatar lived to be 10.5, which, barring typical "unexpected circumstances", I believe is more typical. (That an ability/tolerance for accommodating incontinence &/or limited mobility.)

  4. Anyone have any experience/opinions w/ "hand raised" puppies, ie when the B word dies from birthing? Looking for a puppy & I'm actually wondering if that might not be a good thing. I've encountered a couple of litters like this during my inquiries. I wanna get a Great Dane BTW.

    TIA.

  5. May I suggest something?

Don't forget to get pictures of the approach, the getaway, the northwest corner and the southwest corner. Key here is aerial photography. Do not forget tire tracks, footprints, and dog smellin' tracks, they will help too.

But what really helps is... Get 27 8x10 color glossy pictures w/circles and arrows and a paragraph on the back explaining what each is. Then when you take the litterbugs to court, the man with the seeing-eye dog will fine them 50 bucks and make them pick up the litter in the snow. Only then will justice will be served!

    :-)

  6. Actually, I think Moorman is almost the punter he once was. It's just that the quality of punting has improved so much in the last 5-7 yrs.

I think if we improve his supporting cast, Moorman should still be capable of being a midline punter.

Can we improve upon that? Yes, it would be nice, but there are other areas in more urgent need of upgrading. Specifically our returns are terrible, which is especially disconcerting given that we have returners who've excelled in the past.

  7. I read that Tyson wanted to strip the "text-book science" that was so prevalent in the original series out of this version because it was more important to instill a sense of wonder about the cosmos than lecture about facts.

I was wondering if the intent is more to make the educational aspect of it more palatable/entertaining so as to make it more appealing to a wider audience. If your motivation was primarily to be educated, 10 minutes reading a textbook/website would be more beneficial, but as presented, you get decent entertainment for 40 minutes (plus 20 for commercials) & come away learning a little something, too.

  8. Gotta say the graphics/SFX were really awesome. Incredibly impressive for a weekly tv show. As for the content, was rather disappointed it covered so little in an hr. Anxious to see if they're able to go more in depth in future episodes.

  9. Throw in the fact that we play a few games in poor kicking conditions, those stats would seem to indicate Carpenter has a median KO leg. Not a weakness, but not a strength. Considering his stellar FG performance & our kicking is not a pressing need. Now, our punt & KO returns, & to a lesser extent, our coverage...

  10. Is he better than anyone else we're likely gonna get to replace him? Yes.

Do we have room under the cap, to pay him? Yes (unless we go on a crazy FA shopping spree).

Do we have the ability to guarantee he stays here? At least for next year, Yes, for a Franchise Tag of about $10m, if necessary.

Are we serious about making winning a priority? ????? That's the question.

  11. Have you tried to replace a tire w/ the equipment provided w/ a car? I haven't, but have serious doubts I'd be able to. (That's ignoring the fact that I'm not too comfortable w/ a car supported only by a flimsy scissors jack & w/o a jack stand).

Wheel bolts installed w/ an impact wrench, w/o anti-seize compound that have been on for a yr or more are difficult to loosen w/ a 16" breaker bar, let alone those 8" wrenches typically supplied w/ the car.

For that matter, most tire problems are slow, better to provide w/ a small compressor (& pressure gauge), so you can get the car somewhere it can be safely & easily repaired or replaced.

  12. You obviously have to maintain a "std" formation, ie 7 men on the line, the outside 2 of which are eligible rcvrs, the interior 5 not.

Presumably, you are able to "report as ineligible", making eligible #s ineligible, much like when you line an extra linemen up in an eligible position, & in fact if you're able to do this, obviously, you'd have to.

(50-79 and 90-99 are ineligible #s; 1-49 & 80-89 are eligible. AFAIK, 0 & 00 (sorry Jim Otto) are no longer valid #s at all.)

  13. The guy was a Student Pilot and very lucky

Actually, my assumption is that is incorrect. IIRC (it's been a few days since I read the article) FAA rcds indicate that he was a student pilot as of April '13. I cannot adequately convey how implausibly inept the aeromedical dept of the FAA is. I assume he was licensed sometime after that (possibly, shortly thereafter, again, I'd believe it could take >8 months for them to update their rcds). (Or possibly, the reporter has his facts wrong.)

Student pilots are not permitted to carry passengers, so the Pilot In Command would need to be a fully licensed pilot.

  14. I think it depends on your offense & what you ask of your RB. For us, (& I think most other offenses), FJ is the more complete back & therefore more valuable. WAY better at pass protection, WAY better of "wiggling for an extra yd or 2" and better at making one person (at least partially) miss for a few extra yds in the open field.

If however, you have an otherwise VERY strong offense, the home run threat that CJ brings can't be discounted. FJ is at least & prolly more capable, of making 10 yd plays, but he doesn't have the ability to make LONG plays that CJ possesses.
