Pretty big overpay for a guy that should be a solid backup.
Started 43 games over the past 3 seasons for a pretty good New Orleans team. Just saying.

Go retro... make the draft a 100% radio event. I don't get that many kicks from watching the draftees hug Goodell after putting their baseball caps on. I just want the result... and the online commentary, of course.

Worry not. There’s plenty happening.Likely not like last year though... surgical upgrades at a few positions. I love the way that this FO tries to fill the holes in free agency... leaving them free to draft best player available with their picks in April.

It might be because, unlike those other sports, by the time you're recognized as one of the best at your position in the NFL... you're also almost done. Twenty-eight year-olds are seen much as hockey and basketball Executives look at thirty-five year-olds. Football is a brutal game.

I have to think that there is no one on this board who's in a better position to determine which players fit the Bills' schemes than McDermott and Beane are. I swear people are acting like those guys just sign a player because they used to know him. I really doubt that it works that way.
I suppose that there's a chance that it won't work out and some money would be wasted. I think that it's every bit as likely that the Bills now have 2 Pro Bowl level corners. I also think that it's more than worthwhile taking a shot at hitting the latter result.

Why on Earth would a guy that had multiple suitors pick that franchise. The owner is horribly overinvolved.

Look who Ford has faced the last few weeks.
He has earned a little time off from being the whipping boy flavor of the week.
He held up pretty well against some insanely good pass rushers. Rather he’s getting help from the tight ends or he’s finally coming into his own he has held up waaaaay better than almost any of us could hope for. We just killed the line for the Baltimore game and against another top defense on the road they held up really good. Not a lot of penalties, run game looked decent, and Josh at times had a lot of time to get the ball out. They were blown up a few times but you have to expect that against top defenses.
Having Nsekhe back is fantastic when he’s ready. I’m no fan of the rotations though. Let the starter play whoever they pick and leave them in. Something to be said for continuity amongst the line and familiarity with one another. If your starter is struggling sure pull him but just stick with one guy unless there’s a reason not to.These guys are huge human beings. I think that giving them a few snaps off now and then helps to combat the rotations that most top defenses now deploy in their lines. The rest might also help them to maintain a higher standard of play throughout the game... and reduce their susceptibility to injury. All of this is based on the fact that the various players are relatively similar in ability... which I believe is the case for the Bills' top 7 or 8 men when everyone is healthy.

I thought it was one of the most disgusting and classless plays I had ever seen at the time...

I saw him pancake his guy and stand over him like he ws rubbing it in. It was a great block, and he was pumped. I don't know what he said, but it seemed like a bogus call to me.
Meanwhile... the Jets player is wagging his finger in Allen's face... which is where the ball was... how do they miss that?

King is a weapon if healthy (which appears to be the case). Not sure if he has certain contact demands maybe turning teams off, or just that teams don’t like fun punters. Pat Mcafee was fun and outspoken. Punters are people too.
Paul Maguire too...

Isn't the fact that Jones was very unhappy as a back-up in Green Bay a potential red flag? No way he's starting ahead of Hyde or Poyer. He'd probably line-up behind Coleman as well.

I am not a fan of this.
1. I wish the Bills also published a uniform schedule, but as of last year, I believe they only announce it from week to week on the ol' Tweeter.
2. I strongly dislike all white at home, particularly for the opener. White is the color of surrender (particularly when going against all black!), and I could be wrong, but I think we traditionally under-perform when wearing it.
3. I think McDermott is behind the recent trend toward white, because it seems there's been a noticeable uptick since he took charge.
I don't know how everyone else feels... but I'm OK if the Bills wear evening gowns and heels... just so long as they win 10 games. Go Bills!

Man........all these visits.?
I thought the Bills roster was SO DEEP that their only problem was trying to protect what they had from the rest of the league.
Since 2014 or so I think this is the 4th preseason where there was major drama with numerous vigil threads among the fanbase about cutting players for fear of them doing well elsewhere.........and I'm not including last year because it was only Rod Streater and maybe a couple others..........not like the 5-6 players that people were sweating the loss of this year.
The reality is that the Bills don't treat the 53 man roster the way fans assume they will................they don't just keep the best 53.......it's more like they keep the top 47 or so and the rest they keep for a variety of reasons.......they keep tradeable assets(see the 10th OL)........they keep veterans who they have gone to battle with or who they talked off of the couch or a ST guy they think they NEED out of fear that the ST's will be sloppy in the first couple weeks.
The first two weeks of the season you should not need 53 to field a healthy active roster...........so expect a lot of wheeling and maybe some dealing with those inactive spots every year.......this is the new norm.
I love the idea of bringing in some of these big talent guys that didn't fit elsewhere...........nothing may come of it but at least it's fun to project a guy like Jones or Spence playing to their perceived potential in this defense.
This is one of the main reasons that I respect this GM and his team so much... they never stop trying to get better. We all breathe a sign of relief after cut-down day... but they just get back at it. I knew that they would go after Colquitt... because it was the right thing... and they generally do the right thing. I'm sure they're on their second target at punter today.

I was already counting him. There is officially 4 spots available but I'm saying 3 cause I think we are under agreement with Hall. Just don't think he had officially signed yet.
That does seem to be the situation...

Well... he was showing up on both Buffalo's and Dallas' lists. Maybe we lost the tug of war...

That would certainly be one way for the guys on the practice roster to make a little extra money. The commuting would be a B word though!

Quoting from another site...
"The former UB cornerback impressed the Bills coaching staff throughout the summer. A concussion derailed any chances of Lewis competing for a roster spot late in August, but he is another prospect that the Bills would probably love to develop."

Since Shady was cut loose, my suspicion is the Bills use one of their regular 10 slots for Wade. Three is not a huge number of RBs to try and make it through the season.
On the other hand... it's a lot easier to find a running back during the season than a quarterback.

good move for them . he's starter quality imo and probably would have made the 53 if we didn't have the talent we do.
well i at least believe we would have kept him.
Did they get the right Lewis? I read that the Bills seemed to like Cam a lot more than Ryan. Still hoping that Cam Lewis joins the Bills' PS.

Wade had to be told where to go after scoring the TD in the preseason. He was headed back to the huddle instead of the sideline.

Shouldn’t this be 4 for the Bills? Just cause Shady was cut yesterday, shouldn’t mean he doesn’t count.
Sounds right.
Bills will NOT Tender Isaiah McKenzie - he is now a UFA
