I wasn't thrilled about the Allen move but I'm coming around. I like all the defensive picks that have followed and it's building my faith back up.
I just PRAY the organization is looking to red shirt Allen for a season, let McCarron get his clock cleaned, and then restock the O-line next offseason and add some weapons and let Allen come into a much better situation. That plan sounds great to me.
Throwing Allen out there this season will ruin the kid.
Doubt the the plan is for McCarron to get his clock cleaned... but working with Allen on footwork and reading coverage for at least 1 whole year should be the plan.

I agree with poster who said we will address offense in free agency. Bet we sign a vet guard and WR.
I always forget that there's another league deadline coming up where a bunch of veterans get cut for cap reasons...

Then they need to change their thinking before someone gets killed back there.
Yes. One thing that they'll have to adjust to this season is no more quarterback keeping plays alive with his legs (even though Dennison seemed to discourage it pretty much).

Tiny bit... maybe I'm just getting tired... I actually like the kid and still pulling for him like hell...

I agree I think all remaining picks this year need to be OL and WR
Wouldn't question another linebacker... if he's fitting our scheme and the scouts really like him.

Sooooooo in 2 drafts they’ve selected 2 players that touch the football....
Does that include Zay Jones or not?

You do realize that this would mean cutting at least 1 quarterback at the end of training camp. I'd say that, at the development stage this organization is now at, we don't wanna be cutting any draft choices before they've had a chance to play for a year or two.

Shuttles had drew at 4.5 and allen at 4.4...
Considering how the game has changed, that’s probably not as big a gap once you normalize for how much faster everyone is.
i dont think it’s some perfect comparison and allen is definitely quicker but nowhere near as absurd as some will portray and if allen retires with 4 probowls and a ring he will be a home run for us.
Was thinking this as well... nothing wrong with Drew Bledsoe... nothing at all.

Im so sick of the social justice grandstanding about some nonsense a white farm kid from a small town said when he was 15/16. Probably grew up very isolated.
Get over it. If he proves himself to be a racist or bigot he will run himself out of town. Anyone who actually knows him seems to not think that is the case.
It is so easy to go on the radio and act like a saint. Thank goodness they didn't grow up in an era where everything you said/did was recorded and archived. There is plenty to criticize about his game, can we not spend hours being politically correct and pandering? It is unlistenable.
I wanted Rosen, but you know what? Im on the Allen train. He is "our guy" now.
I just snicker to myself any time somebody in media pretends to have as valid a take on a player as the scouts and front office dudes who are literally drowning in information... information that is not available in a draft preview magazine. Admit I was torn over Rosen vs. Allen on Thursday night... then I remembered that it was probably best to just have some faith in the guys running the team. I hope that Rosen does well... I don't like to hear a bunch of people questioning someone's character when they don't actually know that person. That's not right. Allen is one of us now... and I hope that he does really really well. Pretty tough for a 20 year old kid from a farm in Wyoming to deal with some of the crap that's flying around here right now. That's not right either.

If so, they could have radically improved their o-line via a trade with the Bills and gotten, say, Sony Michel (who I think is really good even though he might not last more than 5 years). Is Barkley really that good? Will he even be as good as Kamara or Hunt were last season? I doubt it, but we shall see.
My one caveat relates to Davis Webb. If they really like him, then not drafting a QB is arguably OK. But I've never heard anyone in the new regime talk him up.
I hear that they really like Webb.

Doesn't matter who says what. Nobody really knows hows things will turn out. That's the absolute truth.

Hoping for any or all of Crosby (OL), King (CB), Maddox (CB), Richardson (OL), St. Brown (WR), Callaway (WR), Griffin (LB), Teuhema (OL)...
-
They liked Allen better... period. Why do people need to pick at every scab in life?

Solid solid pick... maybe not a starter but a very good chance to be a rotational lineman in his first year.
-
Oooops... I didn't realize that Tampa threw in a 7th rounder as part of the Josh Allen swap last night.

Correct... Jim Rome wasn't built in a day.
I seem to remember that the LB MIlano was taken in the 5th round last year... and he had basically become a starter by the end of the season. Maybe they can do that again...

You were right... I missed it.

They added a 5th and a 7th so now have a 3rd, 4th, 2 5th, 6th and a 7th. They may still move around the board. Hopefully they can get an OL and a WR at 96 and 121. Maybe something like Tyrell Crosby and Dante Pettis?
Sorry... where did the seventh come from?
-
That would be a great pickup... but I'm seriously happy if we can find a potential starter at any position late in the 3rd round.
-
Clearly, Beane and McDermott see something special in Josh Allen. They're paid well to make these decisions... and they made one. Let's go win some football games.
I was hoping that Allen wouldn't be our pick... and now I truly hope that he has a HOF career in Buffalo. I'm pulling for everyone in a Bills uniform.

We have a ton of holes on this team and were going into Day 2 with only 1 late pick?
It's really mind boggling. I think it would've made much more sense to trade DOWN at 22 and pick up more draft picks.
Does this regime even now what the hell they're doing?
Clearly there were two distinct points of view before the draft.. and my sense of it was that they were pretty evenly held overall. Anyway... now we know how it turned out. They didn't save their picks to fix multiple roster holes (sorry Mr Beane but you do have some)... they went after a potential franchise quarterback... and got one. Time to put all the arguing to bed now... onward and upward... hopefully.
-
I doubt that they'll do it... but it certainly wouldn't be a bad idea.
-
It had better be McCarron. Either that, or the Bills leadership team isn't nearly as smart as I thought they were.
Reviewing he responses on this thread, I'm reminded why most QB prospects fail. They're usually forced to play too soon.
-
I sure hope that the Bills can find a way to get back into the second round tonight. Seems like it's full of potential starting wide outs, corners and offensive linemen.
-
Considering all of the holes we have in our starting line-up... and the fact that we just spent 5 out of the 6 tickets we had to fill them with on 2 players (one of whom likely won't play at all next season)... you just might be right about that. At least we didn't trade any of next year's picks... those might be some premium picks.
