How many do we keep at each position?

2 FB? No way. Other than that I think you're close. 0 FB's and use the extra players for LB and Safety depth. -

Too many cooks in the kitchen?

Anyone care to gander a breakdown of carries per game? Say 30 rushes. CJ -13 Fred - 9 Brown- 8 I don't believe speed is the ultimate factor in deciding your #1 back. Look across the league you'll see a variety of backs running different times. AP-4.4 Marshawn-4.4 McCoy-4.5 Speed is a tremendous factor, no doubt. But I'm not sure that it's something that would keep Brown from being #1 in Hackett's system -
EJ on NFL Total Access

A few things he noted as to why he'll be improved: 1. Familiarity with the offensive scheme 2. New play makers 3. Better decision making ability 4. "I'm 100%" Thanks for Posting -
RB: FB: Bryce Brown Frank Summers Fred Jackson Evan Rodriguez CJ Spiller Anthony Dixon Ronnie Wingo With seven current 'running backs' on our roster, we have a very crowded backfield. The talent here is undeniable. I'm curious as to see how this shakes out during camp. I don't believe we'll keep a fullback. As much as I liked Frank the Tank, I don't see his value. He was a situation offensive player and a replaceable special teamer. With the addition of Anthony Dixon, I believe there is no need for a fullback. Ronnie Wingo will be the odd many out, leaving four running backs left on our final roster. I cannot see a scenario in which we have less than that. Though this is a very discussed topic, I'm curious as to how the camp reps, preseason snaps and ultimately, the work load in season, will be split. Shot in the dark: In alignment with our current offensive scheme, Bryce Brown is (or will prove to be) a more complete running back Rationale: Durability - Brown has the size and skill set to be a tackle-to-tackle, 20 touch RB. It's been shown Spiller is not. Size: - Brown outweighs spiller by 20 lbs Speed - Spiller is FAST! 4.27 40 at the combine. However, Brown is no slug. 4.47 at his Pro day. ESPN's Mike Rodak agrees - Three years ago, on the heels on Spiller's breakout season, I'd be a dead man for mentioning the idea. However, its important to remember how different our offensive scheme, surrounding talent and staff are. I'm curious as to what you all believe will happen. How will the camp duties shake out? Out of 30 running plays, who takes the brunt of the load? Bored or a Saturday, Go Bills. link : http://www.rotoworld.com/recent/nfl/7670/bryce-brown

Grew up watching the Bills from Rochester, NY. My father always had the games on in the early 90's during the glory days. I couldn't tear away from them. It became part of the reason I went to school in Buffalo. It remains part of the reason I now live in Buffalo. The Red, White and Blue are always good colors to promote. Go Bills!

I've never been one to track these things and do not fully understand the ins and outs. I do know we need to reserve a certain amount for our rookies. After the Williams and Graham signing, where do we stand? How much more money can the bills afford to fork over without being cap strapped?

He plays with such controlled speed and a sure tackler. What a great addition. -

Good for him. Glad to see him finally reaching some potential. Hopefully he can cut his tardiness -
I Support Nathaniel Hackett

Following the season, I wasn't happy with the offensive production. It makes you wonder if the issue is the players or the scheme. Hackett isn't going anywhere (despite some hopeful fans requests) and I hope to see them bring in another offensive mind. Often the play calling was predicable and lacked a certain 'flair' which are common amongst successful offenses. His lack of ability to get spiller into space is an issue. As well as the timing of the WR and RB screens they ran(i.e timing). Bottom line is Hackett is here to stay and boy, I hope you're right about the increased production next year! -
Late round sleepers
EmotionallyUnstable replied to EmotionallyUnstable's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Marrone seems like a guy who doesn't want to deal with any off-field nonsense. However, at what point does talent override attitude? Does it ever? -
Each year I like to watch and see who the "under-the-radar, he's not fast enough, character-issue" sleeper might be. Other posters have recently suggested there have been too many of these guys passed over for a variety of uncredited reasons. I think it's time to start taking chances on guys like this in the later rounds. Vontaze Burfict andTyrann Mathieu are both guys that were discredited for character reasons and have cashed in great for their teams. Who is this years sleeper going to be? Are the Bills going to be that team to take a risk?

Seems to be a pretty steadied belief that Buffalo is in need of an improved offensive line. Although, I believe Guard is a position that can be improved through free agency. There are many more pressing needs to be addressed in this years draft (LB, WR, TE, etc.) and a boat load of guards are hitting the free agent market in '14. http://overthecap.com/freeagents.php?Position=G&Year=2014 Maybe one of these guys can be the answer.

P2=OL depth as a whole, more specifically LG. Swing players? Move Glenn inside and draft a LT? P3=TE...Is Gragg the real deal? Will Chandler recover 100% P4=CB..It really depends on if McKelvin/Butler/Brooks plays out. -

Whyyyyy..... Is there any chance EJ starts week one now? -
From what I've seen, we have good athleticism at LB. Kiko will be an animal with our D line playing how it is capable of. Moats seems to be taking a step forward now that he has found a home. Hughes was definitely a surprise for me. Glad he is working out, so far so good (fingers crossed). Mostly, I'm just glad that we'll have the skill set to not be run past, juked out of our shoes and embarrassed as we have been in the past.
