  1. OP, I agree 100% with your take on LB. Especially Sheppard. Bradham hasn't had the opportunity to show what he has because of poor play by K.Moore (IMO).

I'd hate to see the Bills stretch for a QB in the first...smells like a wasted pick.

As far as Tight Ends, I never have seen this kid play. From what I've seen in this footage:

-He seems to position block instead of driving people off of the ball.

-Stands straight up and plays high at times

-Good release off LOS, seems to run well in space

Not sold on this guy but that's just from this footage. Do you know more about him?

Personally, I like Travis Kelce out of Cincinnati. He seems like a player who could fall farther than expected and would love to see a guy like him on our side.

  2. No to Vick, a lowl character guy. I hear all the preaching about he paid his debt to society, and deserves a chance. Not from me. My four season tickets will be available if they do this. Won't pay to see a that guy play. Besides, I saw him in the Ralph with Atlanta, and was not impressed. We need to do better.

    When you say available...

  3. McCoy fits much better as an OC, agreed.

Your take on Vick is interesting, but i'd hate to see the Bills go after him.

A.Smith could fit for a few years while we get a project QB later in the draft or next years draft.

I really can't say i'm thrilled by the QB's in this years draft. If i'm GM, i'm only drafting a QB if he falls greater than expected. Improve on Defense should be our main concern along with getting a more stable offense (yes, I know a stable offense involves a good QB!)

  4. I can respect what you're saying about experts, their opinions, prototypical NFL QB, etc.

I do like the idea of a mobile QB who can make plays with his legs when need be.

That said, I don't want a guy who relies on his legs, too quick to scramble or puts himself at risk.

I don't know much about Boyd. But I do believe he would be a stretch in the first round at best. I think it would be a wasted pick. I agree with a lot of people on here about beefing up our defense in the first couple rounds and then trying to land a QB who we can build around later in the draft, or possibly next year.

  5. I disagree. I think those losses are more the result of players error rather than Chan. I like Chan a lot. He is the scapegoat for a team of good guys that didn't play well as a team. He tried his absolute best but in the end he couldn't get blood from a stone.

I liked Chan as a HC but he clearly needed help calling plays. I don't put our defensive flaws on him but in the end, he didn't get the job done. Can't say i'm sad to see him go, but he was a class act and wish him the best in his next opportunity.

  6. Interesting post. I'm curious to what stats the management would key in on. In baseball it is pretty straight forward how they did it. On base percentage all the way. In football i don't think it is so cut and dry. What stat do you use? YAC, competition percentage, etc.? A cool idea but I think football is too complex of a sport that makes this system insignificant. I'd love to see if someone could figure out a system to weigh potential based on stats in football. Personally, I don't think it can be done. The intangibles that makes up this great sport is something that separates players at every position. How do you quantify this?

Its a salary capped league, what are you talking about? Everyone spends the same amount of $$.

I believe he is referring to the assessment of talent as opposed to the financial aspect.

  7. I hear what you are saying. For me, it was a pressure free game. I can't prove it, but I had zero doubt that the Bills would win. It enabled me to watch the game with a sense of calm. The score didn't reflect the actual game either imo. Aside from Spiller, SJ, and Brad Smith not too many players had exceptional games. Looking at the stats, it would seem as if the LBs played well. They really did not. Barnett is done.

What do you think of this QB class? I like Glennon, but imo it will take him some time. I see him as possibly rising to the level of Schaub. Smith confuses me. I wasn't impressed by him at the bowl game, but he is almost certainly better than this. I liked Jones until I watched him this season. Maybe he is hurt, but he seems to have fallen way off.

I am also going to look at LBs in this class, but I hope we can get some in free agency. Guards too, because I will be shocked if Levitre stays. Shocked and thrilled, because he might be the most under rated player in the NFL.

PS: We need a safety.:D:oops:

    Happy New Year my friend!!!

I can agree with a lot of what you're saying. Barnett better pack his bags. However, don't close the book on Bradham and Sheppard. They are in no way pro bowlers but both of these guys have a nose from the ball and can add depth to a weak defense. We can all hope on Andy, but i fear u may be right. And as far as safety, if we really need one, let me know, I'm open all season!

  8. Nice dream, but how are we going to sign Bowe without breaking the bank?

Bowe is one of many talented free agent wide receivere. Not only will this drive his price down, but coming off of IR will also affect his stock. He won'tbe cheap, but with the productivity this guy had this year, I don't see him breaking the bank unless someone is willing to overpay.
