So does this mean we see more 3-4, will Merriman be situational (like Maybin) or can Merriman adapt to the 4-3 after playing almost nothing but 3-4 through his pro (and college?) career?

I'd say that the .00001 chance is better than if he didn't get the experience of playing here this year and there was a .00000000000000001 chance he came as an FA next season. Plus there's no cap and it's not my money

Not sure. I may be totally off on this one. Edit: Awlright...went to Wikipedia (FWIW) and here's what they say.... I highlighted the areas where we could possibly get screwed. Looks like it wouldn't be any kind of lock that we'd benefit worth a damn by picking him up.

I'm often skeptical of the accuracy of pre-draft scouting reports, but on some of these sites he sounds an awful like Maybin. No idea what Gibson's done w/Pitt up to this point of course.
