  1. Therein lies the problem. Over the years, the Bills have shown they ARE willing to use first round picks on CBs, and ARE NOT willing to give those first round CBs extensions. Their failure to re-sign Clements demonstrates that the second half of this philosophy is still in place. Allowing both halves of this philosophy to remain in play bleeds the team of first round picks that could have been used elsewhere. The Bills need to build a solid core of difference makers, and that's very difficult to do when your plan is to use first round picks on "first contract and out" type players.

I say it again: $80 Million!

No, the Buffalo Bills are not going to pay a player like Clements that kind of coin, but they have proven that they are willing to open up the wallet when they see a player that, in their view, right/wrong/indifferent, is worth paying.

This is not a Bills issue, it's a consequence of Free Agency. There's so many examples of teams that can't (or won't) afford to pay a player the big bucks on the 2nd contract.

  2. It is the "Listen Live" portion of this website:

    http://www.xtrasportsradio.com/main.html

Also....my browser is still being hijacked....I am not getting the pop ups and the yellow banner is gone off the top of the page telling my I might have spyware.....but I am still getting hijacked.

ok, the two main requirements of this page are Windows Media Player and Javascript.

I'm guessing you have to edit the registry to clear out the remnants of the virus, but reinstalling Media Player and Java VM might get you through, try these first...

  3. I went into safe mode and ran the smithfraud program several times.

Now I am not getting any messages....but my internet radio still does not work. The icon for it opens up but it just hangs and does not complete.

Also another question. My job gave me spysweeper to run on my computer and I ran it....is that a good program?

It's highly likely that Smithfraudfix cleaned a big chunk of it, but you still have some residuals.

what is the internet radio page you're trying to open? Some of them use different audio plug-ins or player apps

Spysweeper is ok. My experience is that different programs are better at detecting different malware based on what they're trained to look for. The result? You have to use several. Personally I use Spybot Search & Destroy, religiously updating the definitions and performing the immunization steps every time, and I don't appear to have any spyware. I also use Lavasoft AdAware.

  4. The last time one of our first round CBs met expectations, the Jauron/Modrack/etc. group allowed him to walk in free agency. If we draft, say, Dominique Rogers Cromartie, and he meets or exceeds expectations, how do I know that he won't be allowed to walk in free agency after his first contract has come to an end?

to the tune of $80 million

the answer is, you don't and you won't.

  5. Faking,

Thanks for the info I will run this....question. Do you think this my be the reason why my internet radio does not work?

yes, based on the limited info I have.

here's a possible explanation...the virus is trying to redirect or hijack your computer in order to navigate to websites of its own choosing. Since you crippled it with Spybot and others, it cannot complete the hijacking and hangs in the process

By the way, a lot of what the Netbooster virus does is to issue fake malware messages in order to get you to download its fake antispy programs, so how much actual junk you have isn't known until you clean out the virus. You have to remove all traces of it in the windows registry in order to stop the malware warnings and hijacking.

  6. Who and by what measure? Potential? I've got to see it realized. Peters is a definate. He'd have started on Jimbo's line. Everyone else on the offense is a huge question mark.

Is anyone under any illusion that Schonert has 'great' players to work with?

1st off, great is totally subjective and your question didn't ask whether they would have started on Jimbo's team or not.

Marshawn Lynch, Lee Evans and Jason Peters are 'great' players to work with. That's my illusion and I'm sticking under it...

  7. yeah, I thought maybe that was the case, but since you were pretty confident that it was removed, I took the corrupted windows path...

there's two choices, one easier with more risk that it might not work and a more difficult, but higher confidence solution that requires that you edit the Registry.

the easier one is to download SmitfraudFix and save it to your desktop. Start in Safe Mode and run it, Selecting Option #2 and answering Y to Do you want to clean the registry. You might have to run it more than once.

the more complex choice would be performing the manual removal instructions

a good precaution is to create a Restore Point in System Restore (START/ACCESSORIES/SYSTEM TOOLS/SYSTEM RESTORE) before messing with the Registry

If you get stuck, IM me

  8. Taking nothing away from Marchibroda, but the best thing he did to "get the most out of those great players" was get the hell out of the way and give Jimbo the keys to the car.

Is anyone under any illusion that Schonert has 'great' players to work with? Anyone? Your suggestion that Jauron could have hired someone better is a very safe way of saying "if our offense sucks as bad as it did under Fairchild then Jauron was stupid for hiring Schonert" 20/20 predictions we'll just have to wait and see about.

The fact is we DON'T have nearly as many talented players on this offense as Marchibroda did. Let's compare, shall we:

QB: HOFamer vs. 2nd year 3rd rd pick.

RB: HOFamer vs. 2nd year 1st rd pick.

WR: 1 HOFamer, another that will be, and one of the fastest to ever play the position vs. 1st rd pick with potential and two

    slot receivers.

TE: One we named an entire offense after vs. Royal?

OL: 4 Pro-bowlers (and one more than should have been in Davis) vs. one Pro-bowler.

Hmm. Yeah, if only Jauron had gotten somebody good he could make chicken salad or this chicken sh*t.

You know, it's funny but I've YET to read ANY complaints about how bad Fairchild was during JP's 'breakout' year in '96.

    GO BILLS!!!

you made some good points and some really bad ones.

Yes, Marchibroda looked liked an outstanding OC when JK was calling his own plays. Was he a great OC? Subjective....

Fairchild was a terrible OC last season, just terrible. Going back to 2006 and comparing his performance is not worth the effort. I can't imagine the 2008 season with him on the sidelines. We should all send the CSU Board of Directors thank you cards, since they saved this team from retaining their offensive basement status, because Jauron (in all likelihood) would have kept him.

Jauron was in a tough position. He could promote Turk and take his chances that continuity trumped experience or he could go out on the open market and hire the latter. Then he's taking his chances that experience or reputation is worth starting over with a new system, and that his job might go out the window waiting for the team to jell. Since they haven't even started training camp, the jury is still out on that decision.

Last time I checked, you couldn't get that yellow blazer until you played a while and retired for a few years. So, comparing our current QB(s) and RB or any of our current roster to Levy's is pretty silly. Once again, we don't know and I'd venture to guess that we have no clue how they will compare until they've played together a while.

WR and TE are evolutionary this season. Will we draft and/or trade for a stud WR or 2? Will Evans shift gears and reach his potential? Will the current TEs or some draft pick lift this moribund position into a red zone threat and relief valve for a young quarterback? More crystal ball stuff. The real answer is that we need to get way better, quickly with our receiver corps.

IMO and others, we have 1 of the best OLs in many years and maybe a season or a player away from domination.

I'll stand up and say YES, we have some great players on this team right now!

  9. ok, I'd rebuild Internet Explorer and clean up any obvious corruption by running the System File Checker, assuming that's your browser. You might need the Windows CD to replace some files.

Click Start, click Run, then type sfc /scannow, and then press ENTER.

Restart the computer when System File Checker is finished

Then reinstall the latest version of Windows Media Player here

If this doesn't work, you have some other corruption in Windows that won't be quite so easy to resolve

  10. Agreed. draft picks are much easier to sign and a helluva lot cheaper

the reason is risk - many free agents, especially pro bowlers, have proven they (at least during some seasons on some teams) can play in the NFL and excel at their position. In the draft you can get a Mike Williams or a Marshawn Lynch. Yes, of course there are no guarantees with free agents either, but the risk is way lower.

  11. How about Lito Shepard and their #1 for our #1. That would give Shepard the value of a 2nd round pick.

yeah, I've been thinking about this scenario as well, since just about everyone agrees that the primo WRs in this year's draft can wait until late RD 1 or into RD2

my only concern is the perception that he can't stay healthy

  12. From Tom Modrak, FWIW:

"Excellent catcher who played in the slot primarily," said Modrak. "Probably going to have to make the conversion to an outside receiver. Somebody could use him in the slot, but I'm thinking he's going to make the conversion. That will mean a little bit of an adjustment for him..."

this is an important statement, although who knows what the agenda is.

It says that the Bills believe he has a learning curve ahead, beyond the typical rookie WR maturity that's been discussed many times. IMO they might draft him, but will also draft or trade for another WR who can produce sooner.

  13. take it to the bank

“J.P.’s on this roster and he’s part of this organization,’’ Brandon said. “I’ve stated it a few weeks ago and I’ll state it again: we anticipate him being on this team. Sixty-four quarterbacks started in the NFL last year, I think the highest in about 30 years. You need two good ones. J.P. is under contract and he’s here and that’s how we’re approaching it.’’
  14. oh yeah, forgot to mention a few other interesting facts...

algae sequesters 90% of it's weight in carbon dioxide, read this as takes greenhouse gases out of the air.

under the Kyoto Protocol (ok, so our fearless leaders refused to sign it, don't bore me with the details...), companies get paid for this stuff, in some kinda reverse pollution credit, currently about $15 per ton.

a system based on this technology would remove about 270 tons of carbon dioxide per acre per year per acre in its current development state

    we're makin' money!
