  1. we are absolutely giddy here in colorado at the prospect of our game being flexed. we've already got a late game start, which means solid tailgating time no matter what.

we have tons of things planned including a big party at lodos bar and grill (across from coors field) saturday before the game, and an even bigger tailgate the day of at the game at the VQ Hotel parking lot directly next to the stadium.

would love to see / meet some stadium wallers this december!

coloradobills.com, check the forum for more details

oh and lots of bills fans have their tickets in sections 119 and 120 so pay particular attention to those sections when buying tickets if you want to sit near a lot of bills supporters

  2. i've been there twice now, had a great tailgating experience each time. since the nfl won't let you into the lots until 3 hours before kickoff, chief fans literally start their tailgating while driving into the stadium. no kidding, we saw numerous grills and smokers being fired up in the back of open bed pickups while idling in the lines waiting for the gates to open.

i lived in KC for a year - would not really recommend downtown as this is a city that defines midwest urban sprawl... there is frankly not a lot of action right downtown unless you like overpriced shopping at crown center or on the plaza (which is actually several miles from the big buildings)

gates barbecue, however, is well worth the trip to main street in downtown (best working class bbq in the city). also the negro league baseball HOF and the jazz museum at 18th and vine are good to visit (one ticket gets you into both) if you get into town early and have time to kill on saturday

  3. i've been there twice for games in full bills gear

you will be heckled, but only verbally. they are good folks in KC. the tailgating experience is great. i once remarked to a KC fan how there were absolutely NO cops or security guards to be found anywhere except at crosswalks near the stadium. he responded 'this is the midwest man!' later he explained that there are cops there but they choose to patrol in street clothes to keep the paranoia to a minimum.

'worst' thing that ever happened to me was getting caught near the stadium for their 'war dance' : about a dozen indians (native americans) surrounded my friend and i in a circle and began chanting and singing. it's apparently a ritual of theirs because nfl films showed up. we danced around while they put their 'hex' on us, then at the end the indian 'chief' threw a smoke bomb which enveloped us all and when it cleared they were all gone!

good clean american fun, their tailgate smelled GREAT with all the sweet wood smoke, and i wouldn't hesitate to go back again this year.

  4. good stuff ... what does it take to get Kenny/Ron into the Hall of Fame anyway? and has the bowling ball been at every game during the streak? it will need its own bust then as well ...

There is no official NFL Hall of Fame for fans, however Visa has a 'Hall of Fans' room in Canton. I contacted Visa and found it is no longer sponsored and they are no longer accepting nominations for 'new inductees', although as far as I can tell the room still exists and can be visited.

I don't necessarily expect them to mount any bowling balls or Red Pinto hoods, but some acknowledgement for a man who has the current longest streak of consecutive games attended for one NFL team both home and away would be more than appropriate.

    >I always wondered- what does Kenny do for work?

    Ken is a software engineer.

  5. Can the Bills move a Sunday game to Saturday? Has this ever happened before?

Through the grapevine (a friend who works with several stadium security guards) I've heard the Bills are trying to move the Sun 12/24 game vs the titans to Sat 12/23 because they are having trouble getting enough concession workers.

    thanks

  6. Lets get real.  KC is is a great city if you have ever been there.

I lived in KC for a year, and while I think the scene at Arrowhead is awesome I cannot agree with you that 'KC is a great city'. Head downtown on a weekday and you'll see why they are the kings of the midwest for urban sprawl. I don't think they have anything more than Buffalo has for entertaining out-of-towners, unless you count barbecue. I still like KC but it's not head and shoulders above Buffalo.
