This may be my least favorite aspect of McDermott as a HC. He always claims to not know anything about his teams injuries and ‘will have to wait until our medical staff evaluates him’. If this is the case, how come Rex started EVERY One of his pressers with injury updates??😡

Why give the rest of the league anymore info than they need? If the guy can practice we don't have to list him on the injury report at all.

  2. Deferring is a great strategy if you prefer to kickoff to start the game because it also allows us to choose the direction we go.

If we choose to kick, they then pick the direction. Deferring our choice to 2nd half forces them to choose to receive (unless they're really dumb) so we then get to pick the direction.

I like the strategy, the offense just need to execute better to start the half.

Another part of that strategy that isn't really a factor this year is the fans are much quieter to start the 2nd half than the 1st and that typically is better for the offense.

Here’s something that’s crossed my mind many times. We have NFL Network, Yankees Network, etc.

Would any of you pay for a subscription to gain access to a huge library of games, podcasts, interviews, and shows from NY’s only football team?

I would in a heart beat.

If it gave me all games and some of the locally run stuff like interviews etc. I would be all over it.

Its called a rouge kind of like rugby.

If your tied at the end of a game and your close enough a punt or fg miss needs to be either returned or kicked out of the end zone to avoid giving up a single point.

So if that missed FG would have gone out of the back of the end zone they would still get a point? I was wondering why the defense tried so hard to save it from going out.

Happy they are always trying to improve. BoZo made some gaffes an NFL punter should not make. Takes more than a big leg.

Thank you! Many still confused by the new rules. Only way Bills are guaranteed to keep Bass is to put him in the 53. I do t see them keeping TWO kickers. Also, the cap situation and pending contract extensions, might motivate the Bills to cut some veterans; perhaps including Hauschka

Normally I would agree on the 2 kickers but I just can't see Bass winning the job outright without ever kicking in a live NFL game situation. That's a huge risk for a championship caliber team. Remember what happened to the Bears rookie kicker a year or 2 ago? Total meltdown.

That plus covid might make keeping 2 kickers, at least to start the season, a good idea. Let Bass prove he belongs first, we can always cut Haus mid season. Maybe that other punter Vevi somthing or another wins the punting job since he can kick in a covid pinch.

  6. As many have said this will be a unique season. I think they keep both to protect against covid and also to protect their investment. Bass may not be better than Haush now but I think there is at least 1 team that would claim him if they could so we need to protect him on the 53.

They cannot protect Bass on the practice squad 100% of the time. Those 4 protected spots are designated each week, they are not permanent. There is a roughly 36 hour window each week that any PS player could be claimed.

Also didn't that kicker we tried to claim last year start the season on our PS? I know we had him in camp. Might have been a lesson learned.

OK...let what you said sink in for a minute and see if that actually makes logical sense to you.

Your boss tells you to do something. You want to work at the place where you are at and keep your job.  What option do you have OTHER than to do what your boss tells you to do?

And even if you say no, it's not like your boss is just going to say "Well, OK just do it then", they are going to fire you and hire someone that is going to do what he tells them to do.

How does this even make any sense??

Huh??  Did you read the post I was responding to????

Ralph Wilson wasn't really cheap.  He had senior advisors he trusted who WERE cheap.  The chief culprit was a lawyer named Littman or Lippman, who constantly found ways for the Bills to cut costs.

In the glory days, when the Bills played the Cowboys in the last two SBs, the Cowboys had loaded up on FAs who were being paid from Jerry Jones' deep pockets.  The salary cap was a toy for these guys, who found ways to buy the players they wanted. The Bills couldn't compete using the money the Bills got from tickets and sponsors, and Littman wouldn't let Wilson spend Wilson's own money.

Never want to bash Ralph but he was extremely cheap. The sr advisers held their positions as long as they did because they did what Ralph told them to do.

  9. Right now it's a hard no for me. He's an elite corner who by all accounts wants to be here. Pay him if you can.

Now...if he does opt out and this defense is elite with the average guys we have, that may change things.

One other point...they did try to pay Norman in Carolina. IIRC talks were slow, they franchised him and then he said some stuff and they rescinded the tag to let him walk.
