Incorrect. Airplay works perfectly. Just tested using the HOF broadcast. I guess it might be different for live games but I guess we will find out tomorrow.
Yep, you're correct. I should've tried it first before posting. All in all, this is a pretty sweet package!
-
Quick update -- iPad app is now available. I downloaded it and the interface looks pretty good. I watched a few minutes of the HOF game and the quality was superb.
No Game Rewind app yet -- but now that they have this one out it can't be far behind.
Thanks for the heads up. One disappointment is that it apparently doesn't have Airplay functionality? Haven't tried it out yet, but that's what the reviews said.

I understand what you are saying but not showing a game that is listed on my local guide is DirecTV's fault. Not mine. I was away from DirecTV for a while and don't know what has changed. I was entirely unaware that what I see is NOT what I get.
Just wanted fans to have a Plan B, because we're all looking forward to seeing them and some folks make special plans to be home in time to view it, then it is a big letdown if you're anticipating viewing the game only to see the DirecTV logo. I'll be interested to see how many illegal feeds are available this year. I remember we used to get sat coordinates here on TBD then going to the local sports bar and asking them to dial into those specific coordinates

Baring some technical glitch you will not see the game on through direct TV You will get a black/blue screen when the game is supposed to air.
You can get some game feeds on NFLN if you have it. From around 7:30pm NFFLN is suppoosed to bounce around the games happeneing then.
People see it listed in their DirecTV guides and lose their freakin' minds. As long as they can see that guide listing, you can't convince them otherwise that it will be blacked out come gametime. Not maybe. Not 50/50. You will not get the game out of market. Period. All you can try to do is advise them to have a Plan B.
-
Thanx. I am leaving early from work just for that game. There are two opinions here -one that only those in the DC area can watch it and those who think not. I was of the opinion that if it is on my TV Guide, I can see it. I am activating my DirecTV tonight so will tune in and see if I am even catching 642. If I am, then it is highly likely that the game will be broadcast as shown on the guide.
It is completely unlikely (as in 0%) the game will be shown live in Chicago on 642. Don't know how much clearer that could be. Just because it's listed in the guide does not mean it will be shown - this has been the situation for many years. But, like I said, enjoy the game. Maybe you can find one of those illegal links here on TBD.

I've tried this in the past and it's such a pain in the ass. $20 for the convenience of pause/rewind, or going back and watching it later -- no brainer.
Totally agree.
-
Does anyone know if blacked out games will stream live for out of market customers through this? Will I get to watch it live on Thursday since I live in Texas?
Since I have NFL Network, that's the only real reason for me to pay the $20.
Thanks!
Also, the NFL Preseason Live app for Android Tablets seems to be out:
Yes, it will be live out of market, per their customer service.

I don't like the fact that I have a "warning point" to be shown to the public... Makes me look like a delinquent...
No one sees that but you, but now that you have posted it - we all know.
Since you mentioned it, is it documented anywhere how the system of warning points works, what happens at what level, do they ever expire, etc? A "friend" told me they've got a warning point out there from 3 years ago.

I just checked my online DirecTV guide (in Chicagoland area) and it shows the game starting at 6 pm CST.
Enjoy the game.
NFL Live will still be blacked out for the game; the broadcast will start immediately on conclusion of the game.
Actually, a little clarification is needed for this statement. Since we know the game is not sold out, and if you live outside the Buffalo market, the live broadcast WILL NOT be blacked out on NFL Preseason Live.
-
You do realize that NFLN will be doing a preseason version of the Redzone channel live during games?
PTR
That's great, but doesn't do Bills fans any good who want to see and evaluate every play.
-
Yeah, I bought in this year. I used to rely on this board for links to all those "questionable" sites to view the live feed of Bills preseason games, and that wasn't too reliable to begin with. But this year I think they will be even tougher to find, so the NFL got my $20
-
Good that he can still travel.
-
Sorry bro... I didn't see your post... Well now if someone knows 100% if 642 will be showing live, we'll know in 'either or' post....
Trust me, it won't be live on 642 unless you're in DC.
-
Depends on where you are. That is the comcast sports network for DC so if you arent in Buffalo and you get the channel, you'll be able to watch it live.
That is just not true.
I am 99.5% certain that it will be blacked out. It has been for many years on DirecTV. They make it look like it'll be available, but when gametime comes it goes black. I'll check it out myself next Thursday, but I advise anyone depending on this particular outlet to view the game live not to get their hopes up too high. Of course, there is the .5% chance I am completely wrong
-
No, it will be blacked out, even if you subscribe to their sportspack, which that channel is a part of. Oh well. Like you said, you can watch the NFLN replay, or subscribe to preseason live. Something tells me the illegal feeds will be tough to come by this year.
-
I think, but not 100%, that you can do that. I seem to remember doing that last year..but I don't want to say 100% and not be right.
Sweet. Sounds like you can watch it like a DVR, so FF through commercials should have me caught up in real time by the time the game ends

I've purchased this the last two years. Very good HD pic on your PC and only $19.99
One last quick question for those who have had this package - can you join a game that is in progress and watch it from the beginning? Or do you have to wait 'til the game is over to be able to watch it from the start? I won't be home in time for the start of some of these games, but I'll be able join about about halfway through them and would like to start at the beginning rather than join in progress, or wait 'til the game is over.

It seems to me that in the recent past that they would often have one team's announcing crew for the first half and the other team's crew for the second half.
Or am I dreaming this?
You're right, that's what they usually do. I may be wrong, but for some reason I thought I remembered that last preseason for the Bills at least we seemed to get stuck at least once or twice with the entire game of the opposing teams local broadcast. Preseason local announcers are heavily biased, and I just prefer to hear the bias in our favor
In any event, I found the answer to my question, for those interested.
From the Support website:
Can I choose which team's local broadcast I want to watch in NFL Preseason Live during NFL Preseason games?
A: No, there is only scheduled to be one feed available for each NFL Preseason broadcast within NFL Preseason Live.
I've purchased this the last two years. Very good HD pic on your PC and only $19.99
I'm assuming if you are not in either teams local market, you will not be blacked out of the live broadcast, even if the game is not sold out?
-
NFLN Bills schedule:
Friday August 10: 4:00 PM – Washington Redskins vs. Buffalo Bills
Saturday August 18: 12 Noon – Buffalo Bills vs. Minnesota Vikings
Monday August 27: 4:00 PM – Pittsburgh Steelers vs. Buffalo Bills
Saturday September 1: 1:00 PM – Buffalo Bills vs. Detroit Lions
PTR
Don't think I can wait for the re-broadcast this year. Has it been your experience with this subscription that you can select the Bills local broadcast, or is it up in the air which teams broadcast you'll get?
-

Agreed. Used this last summer when the vacation condo didn't have NFLN. I also like the NFL game rewind package for $40.

Do they have both markets versions of the games available? Seems like on NFLN we usually seem to get the others teams broadcast. I'd prefer to watch WKBW. If so, might actually have to pay this year

HAHA..lord we are getting old. I remember being on this forum with you talking about how to get the OTA antennas, with plenty of talk about which antenna to buy to boot, to work with the HR 10's!!!!
Had no idea these rigs were coming out..5 tuners sound crazy..I have three HD DVRs now..never record six things at once LOL
I actually have the AM21 paired with my HR34 for my OTA on that same old antenna from the HR10
-
My DVR is set to record anything that says 'Buffalo Bills' in the description
Me too. Mine picked up the yearbook for 6/27 at 2:30am on ESPN2.
-
I could be wrong or in a different area (Broome County) but my Directv does not have this schedualed. For that time slot is the 2011 Rams Yearbook. Looked up future airings of Yearbook which there are 7 of but not of the Bills. Maybe someone else can confirm this.
Yep, that's what my guide is currently showing too.

McGee might not be ready for training camp coming off his surgery.

I left Airplay and am watching via browser now. Hope they get the sync issue worked out.
