He is going to go after a WR early...and he has always been aggressive to get what he wants and needs.  That does not mean it will be at 28.  Would not surprise me to see us trade back and try and add another 3rd and then double dip on WR's with one off the small trade back and use one of the 3rds on another promising prospect.

As aggressive as he was when he drafted Elam?

You can't always find a draft day partner that marries value and need for you.  As you say the pecking order of 5-11 could all be off the board by the time #28 comes up in round 2.

BTW, did I miss something - last I checked we don't currently have a 3rd.

That absolute worst mistake is to reach.  Disagree.  If there isn't a guy Beane thinks is a first round player there he shouldn't force the issue.

Don't cut off your nose to spite your face.  He could just as easily also say the value didn't match the need in the 2nd, and so on until all top prospects are gone.  He absolutely needs to target a position in this draft.

That’s not where the “Beane loves Panthers” stuff originated.

DeShawn Williams isn’t a career Panther, or McBean Era Panther, or draft pick of Dan Morgan… he’s a journeyman that’s more recognizable for his 3 stints with Denver than anything to do with North or South Carolina, let alone the Carolina Panthers.

No doubt Beane leveraged his relationship with Morgan to get some inside knowledge on Williams, as he should.

Yeah, I have to imagine they'd definitely prefer to move him somewhere else than a Division Rival.

But their options are very slim. Could be a Bledsoe to Buffalo situation where when it comes to the most return, they don't have much of a choice. The Giants and Patriots are the only real places still needing a Starter off the top of my head and they both pick in the Top 6.

Everyone knows they need to offload him for Caleb, so I don't think they're getting the return they're asking for.  Might be a case of beggars can't be choosers.

Accidents happen. No need for him to sit in jail. Fine him and move on.

Driving 83mph with a .113 blood alcohol content is a choice, not an accident.  Unfortunately, personal responsibility seems a foreign concept to many.  But the kid just has a TBI, so I'm sure she wishes she could just move on.
