We could have gotten $23M but we chose not to kick all of it to future years. I guess they figured $16M is enough to do what they want to do in free agency.
Can they go back and do it again if they end up needing more? They obviously don't want to, but my guess is yes if something unexpected comes along.

What took so long?! LFG!

I'm sick of this game. Just go about your business and let the chips fall where they may.

What did we give up for him?

Nah. Not after he was invisible at the end of the year.
Once he hit his incentive bonus that was the last we saw of him.

Good news imo. Better to go young than old man Floyd.

Good. He can pull his second half of the season Casper act with them.
Once he hit his bonus he disappeared. All about the $$

Bears are scrambling to unload Fields. Many thought Atlanta would be his landing spot.

glad he could cash in

Wonder if he gave Bills the chance to match?🤣

Daboll lapping up our leftovers.

I'd prefer Dane, but we know McD prefers people familiar with his system so I could see it if Jackson gets priced out.

The only things that are different from the projections from Over The Cap who explain the formula very clearly and do a great job with projections are Jimmy G and Tremaine being assigned 4th round value instead of 3rd round value
Oh, so just a full round lower. No biggie. So just a guess.

Least surprising move of the offseason.

No I wouldn't say that. I don't think it will make much difference how much incentive he does or doesn't have though. I think he is done.
Von converted his salary to incentives not just to help the team, but because he knows he is not done. Anyone watching him at the end of the year could see that.

We'll definitely get a guy as insurance in FA and/or Draft someone in the mid Rounds. I think AJ coming back is way more likely now that Von did what he did.
But I don't see any way we're going to go out and get a Superstar that guarantees Von won't reach the incentives he conceded to and guarantees he has no chance of earning his job back.
Beane is gonna do what is best for the Bills, not what's best for Von.

Do you really think Von Miller and Beane worked out a deal so that Beane could get 8.5m in cap relief from Von, turning it into incentives - just so Beane could turn around and use that money on someone who will totally replace him and guarantee he doesn't even have a chance to hit any of those incentives?
While I'm sure we'll either sign a vet for insurance that Miller simply can't bounce back - it's not going to be someone like Khalil friggin' Mack.
Do you know what their contracts look like that would be picked up in a trade? Might make for a better argument.

No but they did lose a minority coordinator to a HC position and a starting Quarterback to free agency. That explains their 3rd and their 4th and shouldn't surprise anyone. Some of their later picks do seem to be from teams overpaying former 49ers in free agency at the mid range.
So now you know the formula? Please do share.

We seem to read too much into tweets and verbiage. Didn’t people here get worried that Douglas was being traded or released because Beane used past tense when discussing him last season? Then a day or two later he signed a restructured deal.
🤣Yes, that's exactly right! Utterly ridiculous take on a 15 second blurb in Beane's presser, yet some idiotic lemmings ran with it!🤣 Message boards are fun, just don't get your stock tips here!

The thing that gets me is the multiple leaps people make.
When something is said or tweeted, it's one thing to imply maybe it means something beyond what it most likely is.
But then they leap again to it means a trade is likely or possible based on the unlikely conclusion they've already jumped to.
40 minutes ago, BillsFanForever19 said:Yeah, there's absolutely no difference between the *GM* of the team, who makes the decisions of a players future, *specifically* talking about the future of a player at a position that is overly crowded and a player with little reason to be traded themselves tweeting out something "cryptic" 🙄
Misinterpreting and making leaps is dependent on the source. Gotcha🤦♂️

Stop with the comp pick games.
How do the team's moves so far impact the Bill's draft needs?

I hope so. Unlike last year, he needs to get ahead of the run on receivers.
