I just hope it's not one of those weeks where they have those stupid simulcast games where 2 are going on at the same time

It would have been better to have the double header week, so we get the alternate announcers.  We don't want Buck & Aikman doing Bills.   Buck is the worst & Aikman is annoying, but more importantly the Bills are 0'fer with those 2 guys announcing games

You are probably joking, but the last white CB to start a game was Sehorn in 2003.

That's amazing that it's been 21 years with 32 teams in the league.    If there are some talented white CBs coming out of HS, I bet a lot of those guys automatically try to make it as a WR or switch to safety when they get to college.

Last year Riley Moss, also out of Iowa, was rated as potential starting CB and got drafted by Denver.  Don't remember hearing about him after the draft, and it looks like he only got in a few games as part time player late in the season. Not sure if he had an injury?

That’s terrible timing for him, and you have to hope that is a very isolated incident. It’s always dumb, but right now???

EDIT: I worked with a guy who went to UGA and went back to Athens, GA to be in his buddies wedding. The groom got a DUI going 2-3 blocks from the reception to the hotel. That would be another example of bad timing!

    .

That's bad luck.   But also pretty damn stupid.  At his own wedding he can't plan transportation?  Or just walk if it's 3 blocks.

Funny how poor planning and dumb decisions lead to bad luck

  4. I think that would be bad for the league long term.   Private Equity groups have a ruined so many previously strong family businesses in recent decades.

But it does make sense, there aren't too many individuals who can buy a  majority share of an NFL club with values now exceeding $5B.

Not following that logic.  It’s cap money, not real money.  That $4.3m dead cap is less than 2% of $243m and it doesn’t matter where it came from at this point.  Floyd clearly prefers the 1 year contract thing and if McBeane decides to bring him back the $4.3m dead cap will have no bearing on that decision.

    Yep. Sunk costs.

Let's say they have a chance to sign either Floyd or Jadeveon Clowney to a 1 year $5 million contract.   It just comes down to who they think gives them the best value and best chance to have a good season.  Floyd's old contract doesn't matter because they already paid his signing bonus in 2023.

Think Bortles retired. Wentz would be comparable skill wise to Josh. He’s kind of an ass tho

That post from DCofNC made me look up Blake Bortles.   He's been out the league for 4 years.  Last season was an LA Rams backup in 2019.

He went to the AFCG as a relatively young QB in 2017 and was out of the league after 2 more years.  And not injury related.

Guns have been around for centuries but mass shootings have been on the rise for awhile. Why ?

Part of the reason why, is that it's contagious.  The more mass shootings that happen and the more they're publicized, makes it more likely to put the idea in the head of the next maniac.    If  there was no incidence or news of mass shootings in the USA for the next 10 years, the chances of one happening in year 11 would be a lot less than it happening next week, while news is fresh.  Ex.  Columbine helped lead to many more school shootings.

Also firearm technology has improved over the years, which is a factor in making the incidents more deadly

Take the number of death by gun. Remove suicide. The rate drops significantly. Take the amount of crime commited with legally obtained guns. You can break it down even further but it's an ugly wormhole to show all of the problems with the simple "gun culture" argument.

81% of murders in the US involve a firearm.   55% of suicides in the US involve a firearm.

Of course it's a not a black & white issue.   But easy access to guns = more mass shootings and more murders.

BTW, it's the anniversary of the Stoneman Douglas HS shooting in Parkland, FL where my daughter went to HS, and lost friends who were killed. She called me from college, very upset to see what happened today in KC.

The Chiefs lost the turnover battle in yesterday's super bowl.  That was the 14th game in a row, where the chiefs lost the turnover battle, and the chiefs still won the game.

The Bills head coach leans on "its hard to win when you lose the turnover battle", as a reason for losing games.

McDermott's statement is probably true.  Here's the rub:

It would appear the Chiefs have won 14 games in a row, "where it was hard to win".  I think there is a mental toughness exhibited by winning games that are hard to win, that the Chiefs have and the Bills do not seem too.

They didnt lose the turnover battle, it was 2 - 2.   in fact the 49ers muffed punt was a unforced error that turned the momentum of the game

  10. New England is the most hated, and it's not even close.   I lived in New England in the late 90's and went to many games in the Sullivan / Foxboro stadium.  Most people didn't care, didn't understand the game, couldn't explain what a first down was.   I remember tailgating with some friends before Patriots games and we like to ask random fans to name other mascots in the NFL.  At least half their "fans" couldn't name more than 5 other teams.     Then those arrogant f'ers start winnning and act like they're god's gift to the NFL.  Plus all those despicable characters that were their leaders for those 20 terrible year.  It was cruel punishment to have them play in so many championsip games

I would be glad not to see KC in the AFCG or Superbowl for at least 10 years.  But I dont even hate the Chiefs 2% as much as the Patriots.   i actually hate the TB Bucs way more than the Chiefs.   Those idiots gleafully adpoted Brady, Gronk, Antonio Brown, etc.

The Chiefs fans are riding high in recent years.  But other than a couple loud mouths in the media, I have found their fans to respectful and not over the top.  Can't say the same for those Massholes.

There have been several Bills coaches that I thought were bad coaches, including Marrone. But I never disliked the man. I dislike Marrone. The only other Head Coach I really disliked as a man was Mularkey. I have no use for Dickerson either, but he wasn't a head coach.

what about Gregg Williams.   Super unlikable person & a very bad head coach

I know he chose to skip his vacation to come back, but the whole off the couch narrative seems a little excessive to me. The guy has basically been with the team the whole season.

I thougnt that too.  But after I heard his interview when he mentioned he was released before the Chiefsa game, I looked and it was actually more than 1 month Klein was on his couch.   He was released on Dec 9th, and he said he thought he was done.    He got signed back Thursday, Jan 11.

To me coming back after 5 weeks out, and playing well in an NFL playoff game in freezing temps, after basically 1 practice, is pretty damn impressive

Same here. Not 15 mins before kickoff the stadium looked half empty and half full of snow. Then, like you said, at kickoff, snow was gone and stands looked full….I thought maybe CBS was fooling us with CG. LOL

Anybody who was there care to explain where all the snow went?

We just stood in it.   It was a light fluffy snow, but there was too much to really clear a space.  Our section was full so you really couldn't put it in front or behind.  We just moved it under our seat and kicked out a little space for our feet.

It's gonna be an issue next week, especially that it's all packed down, icy and more coming.  The stairs were truly dangerous.   I almost fell a few times.  The people on the aisles seats were used as guard rails.

ill preface this by saying i am a big dawkins fan

but he went in pretty hard on bills fans being deservedly down on the team when the going got tough there around midseason

i mean it wasnt go do your little jobs but it was in the same area code

I watched the interview & there were no negative comments about the fan base.   He talked about how cool it was playing at home with all the snow in the stands this week.  What are you reffering to?

Who was at fault for the first INT?  Davis or Josh?

Defininetly Josh's mistake.  I was sitting on the 10 yard line on that side of the field.   The pressure got to Josh and created the mistake.  The throw was so far off, it looked like he was throwing it away.    Davis made the right move, with a bit more time it's probably a TD.

Anyway, Allen was incredible to watch last night as he always in Miami.   Love that he's a Dolphin killer
