The accuser did something of a media blitz.  CBS News, ABC Nightline and some of the local SD affiliates.  On one of them, her image in silhouette was poorly done to the point where her facial features were visible.  Her attorney also released an e-mail he sent to the Bills where he cc'd her e-mail account which was not redacted.  So, she has basially been outed by the actions of her attorney.

Shortly after this, a YouTube video called "Slutty Halloween" and created by some organization called "BagNation" which was posted last year, came into prominence because it supposedly had the accuser in it saying she was only 18 and bragging that she had a body count of 20.  There were two clips in it where she puts her age at 18 and, oddly, was the only person in the video to even mention their age.  She was in the fairy costume and getting friendly with some unknown, skinny, college aged male person unrelated to the football team, near as I can tell.  It is likely that this video was shot a party earlier the same night as it seemed not to have any of the SDSU football team in it.

Since all this happened, she and her attorney seem to have gone media silent which certainly is interesting and leads to much speculation.  There has not been much new to the story since.

I thought she said a body count over 50?

I havent been active in this thread since it was moved to OTW.  Now at 297 pages, its not something I have the time to read through.  But I am curious if there have been any news on the case.

Of course googling it did nothing, all the articles are weeks old because now that he is not on an NFL roster the media could care less.  But I see in this page there is talk of videos and stuff that came out.  The only thing I saw since the last time I was here was she gave an interview.  But reading some of the comments here, sounds like a video has come out on her from the night of the alleged event?

So can someone just give the quick cliff notes on what's happened since he was cut, if anything?  Just wondering if anything new came out that helps his case or helps her case.

At what point does an ***** turn into a gang rape? ...and how do you prove it?

The party they both attended was something out of Girls Gone Wild. It is not surprising that no one remembers anything that happened that night.

While there is clear evidence of assault/rape, I can see why the police would have a problem identifying who among the sea of degenerates to pin it on.

Her only hope of getting money is from her GoFundMe, which is probably why she's doing a media tour.

Property taxes are a base of 1% of the assessed value plus nickels and dimes of local taxes bringing the total to about 1.5% depending on where you live.  They increase by 2% annually.  I've lived here for 40 years and have owned 4 homes and have never had my home reassessed.  So if you're home has a tax base of $300k your taxes are about $4,500 per year.  The 2% increase amounts to a $90 increase.  Not the increase is compounded but you get my point.  I've heard of very few people being forced out of their homes due to property tax increases.  That was the whole point of Prop 13.

So a large portion of the population (homeowners) aren't paying their fair share.

I haven't read the thread. The title alone read very antagonistic towards the state of California. What I can say after having lived here is there IS and ARE very conservative sections of the state (orange County, Military presence etc)  Many Many people who moved here in the 80's - 90's  have purchased a home . kept it upgraded and nice. The amount we pay on a mortgage I couldn't rent a studio here. It is ridiculously expensive to rent here. We have equity which is key.  Our investment has increased five going on 6 fold. So we were lucky and blessed to have purchased when we did . We have solar electric so our bill even during this heatwave is almost nil. Solar is hugely popular as you can imagine. Anyway I received a blaring Power Flex Alert. Being off the energy grid has its definite advantages. Most all of our friends, church family etc make it work living here the same way. Homes are passed on to family members or THEY wouldnt be able to afford to live here either. Although not rich they are doing fine. Just sayin'

How are the real estate taxes?

Families are being forced to leave their homes because the increased value of their house has made the taxes too expensive. My aunt, who lived near Sacramento CA, were one of those people.

I expect my taxes to exceed my current mortgage by the time I retire.

Sure, someone may have been more in line with the times in the 1950s, and could have grown / learned as a person.

I remember my Dad explaining my Aunt being gay to me when I was a kid in the 80s, he seemed embarrassed of it, but also wanted me to know he loved her and tried to be supportive of her.  It's pretty great that he doesn't feel the need to be embarrassed about it anymore.  People who are able to learn and grow, and have empathy for other people make the world a better place.  This lady doesn't seem to be interested in that.

Just going back 10 years and everyone using the "F", "G", and "R" words would be considered bigoted by today's standards. 10 years from now and we probably won't be allowed to say the "M" or "W" words to describe a person.

I just assume that anyone born before 1950 is too old to care about hiding it anymore.

Just so I'm clear (sometimes I get confused) ... did you just tell me that you are certain that my parents, neither of whom you've ever met, have (or had) homophobic and/or racist views?

Yes. People have the viewpoints of their time. I have no doubt that your parents also shared the same language and culture.

The best we can hope for is that people evolve to the new standards. Some don't, like the OP lady.

My father was born in 1939 and my mother in 1944.  Neither is a bigot.

    It's never "normal."

Depends on the definition of Bigot.

I promise you that they have (or had) these same views.

The language has changed enough that anyone born before 2015 can be canceled. Unless your parents were saying "Birthing Person" in 1945.

  8. I Usually DVR the games and start watching it 2hrs later.

If you fast-forward through commercials and commentary, the game is about 1.5 hrs long, maybe less. Sometimes, I catch up to the live broadcast before it ends.

This is a much more manageable amount of time to justify to the family. Basically two TV episodes.

Just have to stay off your phone.

I started watching all the marvel movies on Disney + last year (just for all the bass in the action scenes, explosions, etc) when I upgraded my home theater system and bought this beast ⬇️ (18” PSA subwoofer. The picture doesn’t do it’s size Justice. It comes up almost to my hips when I stand next to it and I’m 6’1”)

So far I’ve watched phase 1 + 2 of the marvel timeline on Disney and all of phase 3 except for Avengers end game. That’s up next.

Stop after "End Game". It's a good place to finish the universe.

Phase 4 has been mediocre to awful. The plan for Phase 5 doesn't look much better.

Current Marvel is doing their best to emulate the "Star Wars" model of alienating their core fans. They're actively copying the stories from the comics that got those series' canceled; Iron Heart, Lady-Thor, America Chavez...

I can see Phase 5 bombing, putting Phase 6 in jeopardy.

  10. Peters, and the Bills weren't the only ones dealing with the position compensation dilemma.

Jimmy Graham wanted to be paid like a WR instead of a TE.

    Le'veon Bell...

Jamal Adams wants more money every other year.

All left their teams, despite being great players at the time, because teams decided they didn't want "me-first" players.

Lamar wants to be paid like a QB.

Lol I’m sorry, but the Bills not fessing up and paying this guy proper Left Tackle money is probably the most idiotic move in this Franchises history. 6x All pro, 9x Pro bowler, 2010’s all decade team, Super Bowl champion. Just insane. Who was the GM responsible for this?

It wouldn't have made a difference to those teams anyway.

Jairus Byrd, Marshawn Lynch, Sammy Watkins, etc... all wanted out, but held hostage by their contract, or like Dareus who got paid, then lost interest in getting better; Players just wanted out of Buffalo.

Buffalo needed a culture change, and (sad to say) a new owner.

If he sits on the couch, he will be forgotten.  As of now he needs to perform to prove he deserved a roster spot.

I can't be certain, but maybe his motivation or lack of it is why he was let go by his last 2 teams.

Howard said that he had trouble learning the playbook, which is why he was going slow. Apparently had that trouble in TB, too.

I imagine teams may get scared off if the guy can't learn their system fast enough to be ready for the start of the season.

    My guess:

-Singletary and Poyer walk in the offseason.

    -Saffold is potentially re-signed

-Edmunds gets paid and Milano is traded

-Knox, Oliver and Davis are all long term Bills

Knox and Oliver are priorities. The Bills have nothing in reserve.

Davis maybe too expensive. Plus Josh is used to having a different WR2 every year. Shakir looks promising already.

Cook will replace Singletary, and Johnson did well subbing for Poyer. Let them walk.

  14. They already have scheduled electrical "Black Outs".

How are they going to accommodate the influx of electric vehicles on the power grid?

Not to mention they already have laws to convert to Green Energy, which many experts say are already hitting their theoretical max contribution capacity.

I imagine the next step will be to outlaw vehicles within city limits.
