  1. I haven't liked most of the moves but they had to be made.

I'll miss Dr. Poyer and Mr. Hyde because they were a great duo for this team. They came to the Bills the same year, I guess it's cool they go out together.

I'll miss Tre' as well but a prove it deal is about the best he'll get this year, the Bills couldn't pay him what he was due to make this year.

Morse it seems like I've been prepared for him to be gone for a couple years due to getting his bell rung so many times.

Hopefully Beane can fill holes at WR,C,DT,FS and DE (All Starters) during FA and the draft. He has a lot of work to do and still has to get below the cap.

  2. I think I'm on the pessimist side on this year ...The team has a lot of Free Agents and has to do the yearly dance with the devil just to get under the salary cap.

Offense  ... it should be easy to improve WR #2 but they have to draft one, likely in round one, by the time they get to pick #60 any receiver that can help this year will likely be gone. They also have to find someone to backup Cook at RB, as of now they have no one... but RBs are cheap.

Defense ... I expect a crash and burn season from this side of the ball this season. Most if not all of these guys will be gone ...

    DE - Floyd, Epenesa

DT - Jones, Phillips, Settle, Ford

    LB - Dodson

    CB - White, Jackson

    S - Hyde, Rapp

That's a lot of talent that will be replaced by draft choices and bargain basement signings... Prove me wrong McBeane.

I feel it needs to be...

    1. Diggs

    1a. 1st round draft pick

    2. Kincaid

    3. Shakir

This team needs a 1st round WR to come in and claim #2/ 1a this year and push for being the #1 WR on this team

I completely agree, and know they need to draft Diggs eventual replacement now and get him up to speed, I just see McDermott bringing a rookie along slowly, especially with Kincaid getting an even bigger role, which I expect.

  4. He made the most of his opportunities last year. So much so that Josh seemed to have good chemistry with him toward the end of the season. I would expect target distribution this year to be ...

    1. Diggs

    2. Kincaid

    3. Shakir

    4. 1st round draft pick

Shakir will be first up when any of the others need a breather.

I don't see them cutting Gilliam AND Neal. That would mean losing their three best special teamers in one fell swoop and I don't think they are going to do that. I know fans disregard special teams but NFL teams don't. Matakevich is gone and I'm not expecting him back, the question is can they afford both Gilliam and Neal. I suspect not. But their gunner play took a noticeable drop off last year with no Taiwan Jones so that possibly makes Neal even more important. On the other hand Reggie Gilliam is kind of three players in one - core special teamer (particularly on punt team where he plays wing protector), fullback when they use one and emergency tight end. In the middle of last year they had got away from him totally on offense and I'd have said that made him more expendable but then Brady re-integrated him a bit. I don't know. I don't expect both back, but I think one of them will be.

I also still think a pay cut is more likely than an outright cut with Tre White. My reasons are set out extensively elsewhere on the forum.

Otherwise I think broadly you have players in the right categories.

Taiwan was good for a tackle or two a year and Matakevich good for two maybe three tackles. By far this teams best Special Teams players were Cam Lewis and Siran Neal.

This team can't afford to pay players millions just to play STs any more.

Relative roster health between two teams is less important for a regular season game matters less bc it can even out over 18 weeks of the regular season.  Some games your team is banged up, the other team is healthy and you lose.   Then the situaion is reversed at another week.   But in a single elimination tournament, that one game where your team has a half dozen key players out and the other team is healthy, you go home and they are called a dynasty.   Its all garbage, i wish the 18 week regular season counted for a lot more as it is a better indication of who has the "dynasty".   Chiefs haven't won any more games than the Bills have in the past 5 years... so which team is the "dynasty"?

During the regular season you could say the Bills are the better team but once it comes to January the Chiefs are by far the better team . The Chiefs have also won 3 of the past 4 games in February, Buffalo hasn't even played in February this century.

Winning 3 of the past 4 Super Bowls puts them at the verge of, if not earned the title of Dynasty.
