  1. Judging by the looks of this, two guys accounting for about 35 million against the cap will be riding the pine. They can't do anything about Miller but I fully expect Tre' White to be let go.

FA's - Hyde,  Floyd, Jones, Lawson, Settle, Ankou, Jackson, Hamlin, Rapp, Lewis, Dodson ... Almost half the Defense are Free Agents. Beane is going to be very busy and he's going to have to get very creative.

  2. Are Ryan O'halloran and Sean McDermott one in the same ?

I read one of those Free Agent sites that guesstimate Gabe Davis getting a 4yr 52M contract, it won't come from Buffalo. Any other free agent WR'S worth their weight in spam will see similar sticker price. Diggs appeared to regress the second half of the season, whether that was injury or Brady's play calling I have no idea. Davis needs to be replaced for cheap and Diggs will be gone in 2-3 years so a guy that has speed, can track the long ball and catch it is very much a need on this team.

Safety - It looks like Hyde will probably retire and it wouldn't shock me to see Poyer go as well. If they don't re-sign Rapp they may need two new Safeties unless you want to rely on Hamlin or Cam Lewis to start. I'd go Safety in round#2.

DT - Is Oliver the only DT under contract ? ... Phillips, Ford, Joseph and Settle almost certainly gone and Daquan Jones may be too expensive to re-sign. I'd address this need in round #3.

  3. WR 1B ... First round draft pick (Franklin, Oregon) ... Need someone to replace Davis, though they might already have the guy with Kincaid. They should leave Shakir in the slot. But the need is to give Diggs a true running mate and threat out there and of course to replace Diggs when its time.

Safety ... It looks like Hyde is done here and maybe retiring and it wouldn't surprise me to see Poyer go out with him. I'm not sure Rapp has earned a big payday but maybe they can rent him for another year. Hamlin is a backup. (Tyler Nubin - S - Minnesota) in the 2nd round would be hard to pass on.

DT ... Under contract we have Oliver, I'm pretty sure that's it right now ... Jones is great when healthy, but he's 32, how well is the last big contract we gave to a 30+ year old working out ? ... I think they're done with Phillips, Joseph might be kept on speed dial for November or December. Could probably keep Settle cheap. Whether they pay Jones or not, they need a DT (Mekhi Wingo - LSU) in the 3rd.

    Another WR

A between the Tackles big powerful back to replace Murray and Harris

A QB ... Time to have a young guy and bring him along instead of paying millions to backups.

DE ... Floyd looking for and will get $$$ elsewhere, probably Epenesa as well. Jonathan has looked decent in the little action he gets and you Could probably keep Lawson cheap.

    K & P competitions should happen.

Good thing they have 10 draft picks.

Diggs had a bad drop, no doubt.

But this was a historically inept defensive performance.  Do you know how many times in the past 25 years a defense forced fewer than 5 3rd down plays (as the Bills did on Sunday)?

I think the failure on the fake punt was actually a blessing in disguise, they didn't score following that play due to fumbling it out of the end zone ... if the Bills punted the Chiefs would've walked 80 yards down the field in 4 plays and score.

  5. To be honest, I didn't think they'd win the Lombardi from the moment I saw the schedule. When I saw that the Bills got screwed out of a home game, to play a team in London that had been there a week and a half, I had bad feelings.

When I saw that, I turned to my google box to see how many teams that played in London went on to win the Super Bowl in the same season, and that number was 1 ... In the very first year they played in London, 2007, the Giants went on to beat the patriots. Hasn't happened since.

Last night the Bills lost to one of the top 2 teams in the AFC. I'd rank the Bills #4  behind the two remaining teams and a Bengals team they can't seem to beat.

I want to thank Tre', Dr. Poyer and Mr. Hyde for all they've done for this team, sadly I think their time here has come to an end.

We now know our road to the Super Bowl.  Home game in Buffalo tomorrow, going to Baltimore next Sunday (1/28), then Las Vegas (2/11).  Only question is who is going to meet us in Vegas?

    The Detroit Lions

I am a God fearing man, but one who will be sitting in his pew today with his family smoking cigarettes and shaking a tumbler of whiskey on the rocks just to cope.

    Go Bills!  Go my sanity.

My "hard" drugs today will be doubling up on blood pressure medication.
