  1. The Rams drew sellout crowds when they first got here, and throughout the greatest show on turf.  However, once they began to suck, the crowds diminished somewhat, and when it became clear that their homeboy Kroenke was robbing the team, they slowed down considerably.  When the USFL, or whatever that was, came to town, they sold tons of tickets.

They'll support a team, but I'm thinking the city might be better taking the cash.

They have a soccer team coming, and the demand for tickets exceeds the allotment.

This is a decent sports town, but they are so in love with the Cardinals, and in love with themselves as the best fans in baseball, it's absurd.

When the Blues won the cup, a half million people came to the parade.  They know how to drink here, that's for sure.

  2. I understand that the "eye in the sky" was used to overturn Josh's run at the end of the game....it was within 2 minutes.

But what about earlier, on that pass that bounced off our guy's helmet and was initially called incomplete....out of bounds?  The eye in the sky overturned the call and gave him the catch.  Isn't that supposed to be a coach's challenge?  When the refs make a call and the coach disagrees, he's supposed to throw the red flag, and they take a look at it, and if need be, the call is overturned.

In this case, the call was out of bounds, and the eye in the sky phoned down and fixed it.

    WTF?  That's my question.

  3. I'd rather have Tasker.  I listen to that podcast pretty much every day.  When I hear that it's Maddy, I shrug it off and listen anyway.  It's not that I dislike her, it's that I'd rather listen to Tasker.  He's been there.  Chris Brown yells a lot, and he says "good on them" instead of "good for them."  That annoys me.

I hope she isn't reading all this.  She seems like a good person.  If you don't like her, find another podcast.

    Hope Steve comes back soon.

  4. Like most Bills fans, I've been watching every game for many years; never missed a game during the drought.  Spend nearly every day during the offseason keeping track of all the moves, entered just about every season with optimism, but was never shocked at the disappointments.

But when this new regime took over, they promised to change the culture.  A few years into it, the only remnants of the old team are Jerry Hughes and our long snapper.  It's like we're an entire new organization.

That being true, then our fan base should have developed a new culture.  We are entitled to expect winning football.  We should be rid of that gut feeling of pending doom.  We should accept that losses will happen, even if the team is great.  We should be feeling like the fans of the team that was 13-3 and made it to the conference championship game.  We should have faith in this team, shrug off the loss and feel like it's gonna be okay.

I still have that bad feeling in my gut...that we're gonna lose this week.

I hope we have a new fan culture, because I need it.

The missed deep ball wasn't Josh's worst throw.  He NEEDS to get better at that, but he and Sanders also don't have a ton of time together so let's see if that improves.

He did have some drops where the catch would be difficult, but either A) should've been made or B) the DB won the battle with our WR.

His worst pass was the quick screen to Beasley.  That killed a drive on what would've been a surefire conversion pushing us into, at least, FG range.

It is possible that he threw it into the ground on purpose.  There were 3 guys waiting to kill Beasley.

  6. I just watched the highlights.  Josh had some very nice plays, and the highlights showed several dropped passes.

The Steelers came in with a killer attitude, and the Bills came in without one.  The Steelers outplayed the Bills.

Someone needs to go over punting fundamentals.  For one, drop back 15 yards, not 13.  And when you see a bunch of guys closing in on you, punt the ball.  Don't do your two step prep and take your time.

Interesting that both the Bills and the Browns were turned around by bad plays by the punter.

Pittsburgh got all the pressure they needed with 3-4 rushing, leaving 7-8 guys to stop our wideouts.  Maybe we should've played Moss and let him block a bit.

Pittsburgh had all the luck Sunday.  When they fumbled, they recovered.  They had two incredibly lucky catches, both well-covered.  They were the beneficiaries of at least one really bad call that cost our team an interception.

Josh wasn't bad at all.  Dropped passes and deflections killed him.  The overthrow sucked, but hey, maybe the wind got hold of it.

The 4th down backward pass was poorly designed.  No crap.  The Steelers saw the fast guy in the backfield and put a guy on him.  He wasn't blocked.  They should've run a sneak, or maybe given the ball to the fullback and jammed it down their throats.  Weird time for a dumb call.

How many seasons have we started out 4-0 and ended up with a losing record?  Quite a few during the drought.

Pittsburgh deserved the win, I guess.

It's  a penalty when the WR is trying to come back for the ball (which they were in this case, so I totally agree it was DPI)

It's not a penalty if the two are running in step.

So we see the same technique by the CB getting called differently every game, which is what's confusing fans. But we have to keep in mind that it all depends on the receiver's positioning.

Being a CB in this league is pretty tough.

This is a no-win situation.  Wallace was half a step behind the guy, saw him look up for the ball, and put his hands up to successfully deflect the pass.  What are his other choices (besides not being half a step behind)?  Let him catch it?  Tackle him?  No, he put up his hands and blocked the pass.  There's no way that guy was gonna catch the ball.  The closest official did not throw the flag, it was the guy downfield.  Just give it to him.
