After 3 consecutive losing seasons. If McDermott has that he is gone. In fact I am not sure he'd get three. Barring a major Allen injury I'm not sure he'd get one.

    fair point

After how many years? I had to look it up and was shocked....15 for Marvin.

yeah, he was there forever it seemed like, and honestly the Bengals had some weird luck in the playoffs too

  2. comes with the territory of playing big boy football

You're going to be talked about nationwide, not just in a small town media market where it's a bunch of Sal's kissing up to you and defending you 24/7

Ask Mike McCarthy about that. His team makes the playoffs every year and can't kick the door down too, except he has a SB ring as a HC

  3. I like it, because right now the ball just sails through the end zone for a touchback anyways, and the only kickoff returns for TD happen against us it seems like

Is there a whistle or something so the 20 players who can't move know when it's time?

Florio/PFT are going to be all over this! 🙄🙄

nah, the Bills to Toronto story seemed like his dream, and Pegula buying the team and the Bills building a new stadium here seems to have really broken his spirit and zest for relocation stories.

Now he's back to "the end of football?" type stories to make himself feel better.

  5. we need to be more explosive= draft DL in rounds 1 and 2.

Deep WR draft and Diggs was a late round pick will be the company line

We're at the place with WR that we were at QB during the drought.

All we need is Buddy Nix to come back to give his patronizing "golly gee, we'd love to have 3-4 picks in each round so we could take a WR" schtick. Then he could explain how each team only gets 1 pick per round, unless they make a trade.

  6. I'm not 100% sure that the Cardinals don't hate their HC.

Last year it was the social media team putting out videos of him speaking to the team that made him look like a clown. I mean, those are edited, cut up videos that they can pick and choose what is shown...

This year they seem determined to do him in roster-wise.

You can already see the Cardinals storyline for 2024: Murray at QB, switch to Ridder at QB after 6-7 games even though Murray is playing fine, then back to Murray, then interim HC, and finally Mike Shula as new HC in January of 25

I don't understand this sentiment.  They have an extremely overrated QB coming off a career threatening injury. At this point I still have Tampa winning that division.

Cousins is a guy everyone loves to dunk on but he consistently gives you 4000+ passing yards, around 30 passing TD, and around 9 INT on average.

He's pretty good. Not elite but pretty good. Too bad SF is determined to prove Purdy is a real QB, because a Cousins/Shanahan reunion would have made the 49ers a real contender.

Johnson? Not sure, but it happens.

Case Keenum, Geno Smith, Jacoby Bresett.

    One of the McCowns.

    Kyle MF Orton.

At first I thought Todd Collins but that was so long ago...

It was somewhat recent I think, unless time passes that quickly. It was a guy who never did anything here, not sure he ever even played. Then he had a "look at this guy!" moment for like 5 minutes before reality set back in and I don't think he was ever heard of again.

Maybe he went from Washington's backup to Chicago the next year to be their starter and played for 2-3 games before getting benched for good?

  9. Falcons are loaded and in a terrible division and a weak conference as well.

If we beat Atlanta in the Super Bowl I would of course be extremely excited, but they're a team you want to beat for Super Bowl #2 or #3, not your first.

That said, if you play em beat em of course. You do NOT want to lose the Super Bowl to the Falcons of all teams.

I feel like Nate, after learning how 17 different offenses work, is going to have a random season when he’s 39 where he throws 5000 yards, 48 TDs, 4 picks, and wins MVP/CPOTY.

Wasn't there a former (like long time ago) Bills backup who resurfaced when he was like 37 or 38 and had one great 6-7 game stretch for like Washington or someone then vanished again?

  11. Bosa is just like his brother and also Kittle: do close to nothing in big games

Kelsey makes plays all day long. Chris Jones makes huge plays when they need it. Aaron Donald is always around the ball when the Rams have meaningful games. If you're going to pay the big $$ then you want the big production.

The Bosas and Kittle would be the perfect SF trifecta of big $$, big names, zero impact in the big games.

  12. I remember when they signed Beasley and Brown, both guys were your typical solid NFL vets but nothing to go crazy about. Both had a huge impact here, though.

I expect something along those lines.

They were the last NFL franchise to not have an indoor training facility which they literally are building now. Carson Palmer is among the loudest voices that have said they will waste Joe Burrow because they are so cheap and never maximize what they have with him. The bengals are one of the few remaining franchises where the team is the sole revenue generator for the owners.

it drives me nuts that they were Aaron Donald being 1 second later on 4th down from Burrow hitting a wide open WR to win the Super Bowl and Allen hasn't even gotten a shot yet
