Dodging the Rosen bullet, landing Allen, and then getting a top 10 talent on top of it? Dream come true! A+++

Nope - both Shefter and Rapport reported that Cards wanted him. They settled for Rosen. We did the right thing, went up and got our guy. Plus, as another poster insightfully put it: WHO CARES. Highest drafted Bills QB ever - this management goes for what it wants (Allen, Edmunds, Zay, Dawkins), and it is so refreshing.

Allen - A
Edmunds - A+

Rosen would get broken and quit behind a good line. Mccarron will have to deal with any line problems we have. By the time Allen takes the helm with our $90 million of cap space and full compliment of 2019 picks, he will be very well protected and rewarded with top weapons.

Josh Allen is an amazing talent. We are more than lucky to have him. Off the chart physical skills, smart, hard worker, great teammate, unlimited ceiling. We are very lucky to get him at 7.

The Bills GM and coaches also need to be better than the Chiefs, Texans and Cardinals. I know you know this but it's so critical and has to be said. It's much more than just comparing QB to QB. The organization has to make smart, important decisions around Allen. This to me, is the reason I'm excited about this QB selection - my faith in the Bills to get all the other things right.
Right on. These guys are pros. Edmunds helps prove your point even though he is on defense.

They will at this point. Allen needs to be better than
Mahomes, Watson and Rosen
Meh, this is wrong. Allen has nothing to do with Mahomes and Watson. If Bills made a mistake passing on either of them that is not on Josh Allen. And Rosen - Bills picked Allen over him and I trust the judgment of Beane and McDermott. I agree with their view, and do not believe Rosen will have a long NFL career. But now that we escaped him, I don't give a crap about Rosen other than to wish him well. But for Bills fans everything about Rosen is so March 2018. Train has left the station.

Josh Allen will always be compared to Mahomes, Watson and Rosen. So Hope Bills are right.
No one compares Allen to Rosen - they compare him to Cam Newton and Wentz. But I get what you mean, more "measured against." We all hope the Bills are right. Love what they did tonight - went and got their boy. And I bet he "compares" very favorable to Rosen. Wish him and the Cards well, but I don't think that it ends well for Rosen. I don't think he survives long in the NFL. Holds the ball and twice concussed in a year. And that is giving him the benefit of the doubt on the off-field criticisms he has faced.

And they would be if any of them knew what this front office/scouting dept knows about evaluating a college QB prospect.
It was a great day considering that most fans here wanted the GM to trade away all the picks to get to the #2 spot for Josh Rosen. Now that they moved up a bit to go after the QB they coveted all along fans are complaining they gave up both second-round picks when they wanted them to have given up two 1sts. two 2nds, two 3rds for a guy they passed on.
Bills just didn't want Rosen. Bradford and Rosen - what a hospital ward the Cards have. Bills got their man, Cards got the leftover Rosen. It is not just the Bills, Rosen slid for reasons other teams appreciated as well. And Bills also got a super freak linebacker. 253 and 4.54. Wow. Loving me some process!

Dude is humber, a worker and has all the tools. We should all be all-in behind our future HOF QB.

Josh Allen once nearly killed a grown umpire with a fastball in a 10 and under youth baseball game. Was like a gunshot. Josh carried him two miles to the hospital and the ump was saved.

Today was a GREAT DAY!
It went as well as I could have imagined. Darnold was my first choice, but I'm happy with Allen, AND we got Edmunds. Bills fans should be shitting glitter.
Ding, ding, ding - we have a winner. But that would be blue collar, lunch pail, working class, Kyle Williams signature glitter.

Casserly thinks Allen in the right spot, can develop behind AJ. I think AJ's professionalism will help get Allen right. It is almost like they signed Mccarron knowing they wanted to draft Allen, and that was likely the case.

All right, I get being optimistic about Allen, but some of you are straight delusional.
If you think we developed EJ properly THAT is delusional. Not saying he will ever be a good starting NFL QB, but he was handled VERY badly. You should see that.

Anybody notice the size of Allen's hands? Holy cow!!! They are like swim fins with thumbs. I heard he kicked Vita's butt in a bar fight.

I just think a reasonable amount of concession has to be made from fans - that at minimum they can't have the same amount of information as a team. It's a hunch or a gut feeling on both sides but I give the benefit of the doubt to the team because of information.
For example I watch a good amount of college basketball and my wife watches none. She could easily beat me in filling out an NCAA bracket. However that doesn't mean she evaluates better than me, she got lucky. It may be that she just picked the winner and got more points in the end.
So of course a fan can be right and a team wrong. It doesn't mean they're stupid or unable to do the job. They took a shot on Allen - let's see if they got lucky.
No kidding! They worked out Rosen, they worked out Allen. Allen is physically superior in EVERY respect. Rosen more pro-ready. Post by 26CornerBlitz from ESPN seems right: McCarron gives Bills the luxury of getting Allen right (unlike what they did to EJ). Huge difference from the EJ pick where they traded down and settled for EJ (great guy, not yet a good QB), they went up and got their guy. Rosen didn't measure up. It is pretty arrogant for the board to think they know better than the Bills scouts. Every other QB desperate team passed on Rosen too - until the Cards who got the leftover because they were in a bad spot. Allen may or may not work out, but I respect what they did here. And I bet he works out.

So stoked. Feel we got better talent at 7 and 16 than Browns got at 1 & 4. Allen is by all accounts a worker, he has elite arm talent, great running skills and ENORMOUS hands. Lighted up if you had a man crush on another - he is now our man!

Allen is the best prospect we have had since Kelly. Pissing and moaning is ridiculous. I don't like Rosen, but if they had selected him, I still would have been excited because he is a very good prospect.
Let things unfold a little bit.
So true. I REALLY wanted Allen, and did not want Rosen one bit, but I would have been excited about any of the big 4 - all good prospects.

AZ wanted Allen 1st - per Rapoport
Exactly. AZ got the leftovers - smelly day old Rosen - we got our choice! Red hot Allen

Its his legs that really make me hot! There like two mighty oaks, pumping furiously....one after the other.
With those GIANT hands flopping along at his sides. A mountain of a man. And a blue-collar, farm boy, lunch pail, Kyle Williams, beer slugging Buffalo kind of guy.

I was afraid we would be stuck with "what's left" - be it Rosen or Allen. We played it right, near perfect, didn't overpay and had our choice of the two and took Allen. We should all be psyched, regardless of who we wanted, until Bills are proven wrong. They identified their guy and went and got him. They did not want Rosen. Wishing the Rosen kid the best since he is not in our conference, but we got our man. That is all one can ask for at this point. Time will tell if we are right.

Six picks left with Allen and Edmunds in bank - sick.
