If there is ANYTHING to MacKenzie's tweet, here's my guess (assuming mckenzie knows something we don't) -
Bills are trading gabby davis for a big name receiver. Here's why I think that (solely based off mckenzie tweet). IF mckenzie knows something we don't, and they're delaying releasing the news, it's probably due to respect for the player (like Davis) to take in the news of being traded. They basically did the same thing when they cut barkley for trubisky.
That's all speculation obviously, just a guess if there's anything to be made of the tweet
Trading Gabe Davis for Barkley??

So he's nowhere near "not an excellent WR2"?
The standard for WR2 on elite teams is much different.
The second receiving option on the final 4 teams was Tee Higgins, Devonta Smith, Brandon Aiyuk and Juju Smith Shuster.
And before anyone tries to claim Juju isn't a better receiver than Gabe......let me know when Gabe has his 1400+ yard receiving season and gets to 70% completion rate for his career.
Gabe is a near ideal WR3..........a cheap big play threat.........like a slower Marquez Valdes Scantling..........but as a WR2 that will leave a contender wanting for a lot more.
So he is every bit "the problem" that most people are making him out to be. He's simply not good enough to be the second option on a team that expects to win a SB in the current NFL.
That's what I said, draft a WR round 1. For a 4th round pick Gabe Davis has been great.

Gabe Davis is nowhere near the problem people are making out. Great chemistry with josh. We just need another early round WR and players on that side of the ball.

WR is my preference, but that depends on who’s there. I’d be happy to see the Bills move up for one (Addison, JSN) as long as they didn’t go crazy on trade compensation.
Agreed I think WR, G is the priority even if we trade next year's 2nd I'm ok with that.

LT - Dion Dawkins
LG - Ryan Bates
C - Mitch Morse, Luke Wypler, Ohio State, 3rd round, heir apparent to MM at C, immediate competition for Bates at LG
RG - Nate Davis, FA-Titans, 26 years old, 4 years, $30M total ($7.5M AAV)
RT - Competition between Spencer Brown and Jermaine Eluemunor, FA-Raiders, 28 years old, 2 years, $8M ($4M AAV), winner starts, backup is the swing tackle
I’d look to do something like this. Reasonable spending, good competition and depth, succession planning at C.
What area would you draft Rd 1?

Why not both. He's just specifically addressing defense because he was asked about it here.
Yes I understand he was asked about that but it annoys me the way Beane anyway has neglected to make an elite o line. And he has whiffed on basham, and Rousseau and Oliver haven't set the world alight.

We wouldn't get more than one 1st for him so not worth it

Gabe Davis was emotionally exhausted and out of gas like Saffold due to the Tops shooting and snowstorms. Hence all the drops. Should be better next year
Ha. I see what you did here

For me the elephant in the room is Beane.

I was right there with you as well. I was very disappointed in what we had at WR starting the season. Was 2 immediate downgrades. Something I wasn't realizing as much at the time but am now is how he also has ignored the OL for the most part for 5 years and has not put a solid one together in 5 years. Reid done it in 1 offsesaon, so did the Chargers
Totally agree with you. Beane has whiffed on the OLine

We won 14 games this year with an 'average' offensive line (generous description)
We HAVE several good skill players.
If you can draft, trade, or free agent an offensive line that gives Josh Allen a few more seconds, we win it all.
THAT is where the Bills emphasis should be.
.
Agree for the most part about focus on the OL but I think we need a round 1/2 burner WR, maybe we can trade a player
-
Trade tredavious white for a 1st if we can get one. Take a WR first round and an OL first round If we get the high pick. Corner in 2nd maybe but we need to make the OL better
-
Our o line is getting handled. Sick of it
-
Well done on the O Line Beane 😞
