    I respectfully disagree with this

Man coverage puts your back to the LOS and ball.

The options, rpo, and likelihood that Jackson runs means all eyes must be toward the ball.

I 100% disagree with his take unless the ravens WRs are trash and I don't realize it.

Lamar is decidedly better against zone though, and there is less tape of us playing man. I think if we sit in zone, especially in base defense, we will get passed on.

The Ravens are a great team - but it's not like they have an '07 Pats offense and an '86 Bears defense.  The way they're being hyped, you would think this is a complete mismatch.

People are putting too much on that 1st game where they blew us out. That was a weird vibes game from the start - we had been on such a roll, and we just came out flat that day, which happens.  We were also missing Shakir & 4 defensive starters (a 5th was lost early in the game).

I feel fantastic about this game.  I like that we're being overlooked, and that many are already talking about KC/Baltimore in the AFCCG.  We're at  home.  We have the bigger chip on our shoulder.  It will probably be close, but I could see a scenario where we win big.

I agree that the vibes in this game are mismatched from the reality of how close we are. But I keep seeing that Shakir was out in the previous game but its wrong.

Shakir played! And he had the biggest play of the game in the 3rd Q.

  3. There is an experience factor in how to effectively keep warm. They players talk about using viagra, vaseline on their skin, thermal clothes, etc. At this point Josh knows how he prefers to dress in the cold. Lamar and Baltimore may not have it all figured out, and that could help us.

Its minor but ill take anything I can get.

Do not accept FG's like we did against Denver.

This made me chuckle for some reason. What exactly is not accepting FGs? go for every 4th down?

Not necessarily whales, but the sharps. Those are the betting pros. They typically start coming in day of the game

I thought its the opposite, that sharps are on a line early and sports books will actually use sharps as guidance on a line.

Looks like Lamar Jackson will get his 3rd League NFL MVP. That's fine. Go ahead. Congrats.

Let's see what happens if we meet next weekend.

I keep seeing this everywhere, but the Vegas odds havent moved off of Josh (yet at least). So I dont get it, because Vegas isnt in the business of losing money. If anyone is positive that Lamar is going to win, then there is some money to be made. You can get Lamar at +300 on DK.

    Special teams, yes.

    Sean Payton.

14 years coaching with one of the all-time great, HOF QBs in Drew Brees.

1 Superbowl win, 2 conference losses, 4 division losses

If he were coaching in Buffalo, we'd have been calling the plows for his removal in 2013 if not 2012.

McD has a better regular season record and a better record in the playoffs (Payton is under .500 in the playoffs despite having a HOFer the majority of the time)

  7. At a high level: If the Bills lose it would be the worst loss of the entire season. The losses to Houston and the Rams were against lesser opponents but both were on the road and in Houston we had significant injuries to guys playing now and we didnt have Cooper on the team. We have not lost a game at home at all this season. Despite over achieving pre-season expectations, the Broncos could have clinched a playoff spot by winning week 16, 17 or 18. Instead, when the pressure was on they lost against LAC and CIN before beating the Chiefs in week 18 playing backups. Yes I know Denver has some good units and arent an easy out, Buffalo is the superior team.

Digging into the details a bit: Denver leads the league in sacks which is the biggest strength of Buffalo. Josh has been sacked fewer than any QB in the league this season. If Im a DC that relies on getting to the QB to get stops, this doesnt make me feel good. Yes Surtain can shut down a single WR by himself, but our "spread it around" philosophy on offense makes this less signifncant. Case in point is the game against Detroit where Cooper had 0 targets and we scored 48 points. So the two key strength of Denver are up against our strengths as well.

On the other side of the ball, Buffalo philosophy in keeping things in front of us and making the other teams make a mistake is the exact strategy that works against rookie QBs. Bo Nix has 12 ints on the season, and I dont expect him to orchestrate 6-7 scoring drives against us without a turnover.

Ultimately, while I dont expect a cake walk, over the course of 4Q I expect Buffalo will win comfortably.

  8. I do hope that McD and Babich have learned that you do require a new wrinkle in the playoffs and that they havent put everything on tape this season. Relying on turnovers against Batimore isnt likely to get it done. There have been hints from people that watch the tape that we are better at man defense than the defensive alignment slips would have you believe. So maybe we will reveal man blitzes that teams arent prepared for. Whatever it is, I think this is a box McD would have to check, this season especially.

Those wins were when Greg Roman was his OC, one was in a wind tunnel

We also had different coordinators at that time...

Beating the Lamar in the playoffs to go to the AFC champ doesnt count as beating a good team?

    6 hours ago, Mikie2times said:

another was when they didn't qualify for the playoffs

This is some weird circular argument: We beat Lamar, they dont make playoffs (partly because of the loss to us), not making the playoffs means they arent a "good team", therefore Buffalo hasnt beat a good team...

Either Lamar is a tier 1 QB or he isnt.

That pass to Keon in the Titans game, while it had a lot of separation, it was not a deep ball in the true definition of one. Allen is fine with those passes like the one you describe.  Deep ball to me are those passes that are lofted 40+ air yards down the field. Allen tends to throw those without enough loft. Getting a speedy receiver wouldn't necessarily fix his weakness in that area.

Josh can hit "deep balls" when defined by yards down field because he has zero problem with deep crossers and deep dig routes. He just struggles with straight go routes at the hashes that require over the should catches.

You know what, now is a good time to spill the beans on what I was told last year - In the home Patriots game, Diggs chose to sit out the first drive of the 2nd half because he was upset with Allen's play in the 1st half. It wasn't an injury or part of the game plan. He decided to screw over his team and sit out a drive because he couldn't get over himself.

I suspect other stories like this will come out in the coming days. A couple aren't mine to tell. Guy was a total headcase and a major distraction in more ways than one.

I remember your stories going back to last season. It really soured me on Diggs. Im not too upset about this.

Why to Houston for a 2025 pick?

I don't mind trading him, but if it's going to be to an AFC contender, you have to get more in return.

Same trade to Carolina and I would have no issue with it.

Its the Vikings pick, who wont be very good likely. So could be a high 2nd rounder.

Yeah we watched the Offense grind to a halt with Dorsey, it was getting ridiculously aggravating we got to the point where we were begging them to just go 2-minute no huddle just let Josh do it because that was the only thing that ever worked.

Brady took over and things started to move again.

I think the reason Dorseys offense looked ok overall was because Josh would go berserker mode and try to save the game, hitting long runs and big plays which would ultimately elevate the stats. I dont know how to track this but I would love to see DVOA and EPA/play for plays made "in structure" between Dorsey and Brady. Under Dorsey it felt like nothing happened in structure. The entire offense was drop back, scan, scramble, hit something out of structure. It felt impossibly difficult. Under Brady it felt like Josh hit a lot more in structure. So while the final result of a drive may be the same, it just was exhausting to watch under Dorsey.

The Vrabel news is interesting, especially considering his career highlight is pretty much the same as McD's.....getting to an AFCCG against the Chiefs and losing. He's also won 2 road playoff games and McD has zero of those under his belt to this point.

But it just goes to show what is truly important to some owners, and obviously the Titans are going through a pretty significant rebuild moving forward with a young QB, King Henry and many other veterans impending departure, etc...so it does make sense to start fresh from that point of view where the Bills will still have Allen any many other pieces next year despite their own pending roster turnover, and coming off a playoff appearance even if they don't go far again.

This assumes the Vrabel wasnt sick of ownership. This decision may have been made because of Vrabels feelings toward the org. Even if someone is a good coach, sometimes a relationship becomes to soured they have to go.

I expect hell be in Foxborough soon

Yea seems like waddle is playing for sure.

Seems like it based on that video. But Miami is in a bit of a weird spot since they are already in the playoffs. Theres an argument to be made that they should consider resting guys that are close if theres a risk of re-injury. What is better, having the player on the road in Kansas City or potentially not having the player at home against Buffalo again?

Harbaugh is going to do what he thinks is best for his team. I doubt he is giving the Bills a second's thought. They probably will rest many starters, but they will play hard and try to win the game. Don't forget they hate the Steelers with a passion. So, I am sure they would love to ruin the Steelers season but not at the expense of hurting their team as they get ready for the playoffs.

I think the biggest factor is: do they want to rest starters for 2 weeks? Aside from an injury, I dont think you want Lamar and the offense resting for that long. The last two games have been incredible for Lamar and the team. I think the starters play for a half at least.

This same exact situation happened in 2019 and the players have talked about the fact that the rest screwed them up a bit.
