  1. Knowing that Welker is the Patriots number one target, the Bills defensive plan allows him 17 catches and 200 plus yards. The plan in Cincinnati today is to allow a weak arm rookie to throw short crap passes instead of making him beat your team downfield. Last drive it certainly would have been better to make him throw downfield and at least give us a chance to get back on the field. But no, let him kill you slowly with 5 yard passes. Come on wannestadt, deliver a defensive game plan that helps this team win, or beat it
  2. The title - "in actives" is not descriptive of a discussion concerning the subject of inactive designations?
  3. I have never heard a rational explanation as to why the NFL insists on requiring teams to designate a number of players as inactive on game day. With all the "concern" the NFL expresses about player safety, a full game day roster which gives the team greater flexibility in terms of rotation, special teams etc would certainly be helpful in terms of player safety. At least as helpful as moving the kick off forward.
  4. He is hated by many fans, fueled by media nitwits like schoop and his "bulldog" who complained and whined about Kelsay's contract last year, because they don't have a clue. Fans and media watch a game specifically following the ball and the action. It is impossible to judge a position player like linebacker simply from watching a game. It's called the game within the game, and it takes the breakdown of game film to fairly judge the performance of an individual position player. Cannot be done as a spectator following the ball. You have no idea what the scheme is, and what the players responsibility was and how he executed over the entire scope of the game. No knowledgeable football person, including coaches, make those judgements without breaking down game film. Ted Washington was a great nose tackle, but his typical game stats were one or two tackles and zero sacks, but he was great within the scheme, despite lack of stats. So football guys like Nix and Gailey, who are familiar with the defensive sceme and watch film of every practice and game, are completely clueless in their decision to award Kelsay with a new contract, while Schoop and his dog, or a whiny B word like Jerry Sullivan, and/or many of the posters on this board, who watch zero practices, zero game film and never even played the game, somehow know better. Please!!
  5. Evans always said the right things to the media and the fans; model behavior for a pro athlete in terms of media and community relations. That does not mean he was not difficult to deal with in doing the things a coach needs and expects in an offensive scheme. Gailey hinted at this last year and in the offseason; Evans was expected to do more than run his long routes and consistently failed to execute within the framework of this offense. Let's be clear, he has been an underachiever. TO joins the team and completely out produces Evans two years ago, despite Evans being our number one. And when we played the Jets that year, Revis. was assigned to cover Owens, and it's the Jets scheme to always have Revis cover the other teams best receiver. Likewise, Johnson completely outproduced him last year, and Evans came up small in big moments last year The problem is that the media here has no inside sources, no insight into the real inside workings of this team. So the perception that Evans is a model player is based solely on the public persona he provides to the media. Clearly this Baltimore reporter does have sources within the Ravens organization, and that organization obtained this info on Evans as part of their due diligence prior to making this deal.
  6. Okay for the umpteenth time; teams cannot trade players for draft choices or for other players etc etc. Can't be done during this work dispute. So the whole gist of your post is complete nonsense
  7. You need to be running on cylinders to beat the Pats. Chan is great in x and o's but game management? There was simply no excuse for not throwing the red flag to challenge the first Fitz fumble. You do not need to save time outs in the first half. Bill B challenges that call every time. Paul P has to go. Small, slow and got his ass kicked in every phase of the game.
  8. I know how revenue sharing works - thats why my post stated that Ralph gets the bulk ( not all) of the benefit. Can you read? The original post I was responding too suggested that Ralph was not the tightwad we make him out to be because, generous soul that he is, has bought out tickets in the past. My point was he is still a miser, running the team on cash to cap basis, underpaying coaches and grinding out a substantial profit every year rather than trying to win a superbowl. A curious and disappointing philosiphy for a 92 year old guy who has already made a billion dollars on this franchise and could not spend even a portion of that fortune in what remains of his lifetime. With more money than god his choice is to attempt to make more money, rather than achieve a superbowl
  9. Oh that’s just too funny - "for those of us who think he is a tightwad". The guy has profited to the tune of almost one billion dollars via the ownership of the Bills. So who, genius, do you think receives the bulk of that money when the generous Ralph buys up those tickets. The answer - Ralph does - he owns the Bills!!!! Russell has let our tightwad owner off the hook
  10. So if the link information ia readily publicized over the internet, and readily available to all, why do the mods self appoint themselves as censors, deciding what public information should or should not be placed on this board, which is supposed to be public exchange of opinion and information. The NFL has neither the power or authority to censor this type of information, or sanction a website that provides this information. Yet the mods here apparently set themselves up as censors for the NFL, protecting exactly what for exactly what reason?
  11. You are so wrong genius. The game was available for free on the internet, and i watched the entire game for free, over the internet. My complaint was that the moderators of this site have taken upon themselves to censor this, to protect the financial interests of billionaires. Thats really none of their business
  12. It appears that every post relating to viewing the game on the internet was deleted by the "editors" of this website. As if they are employed by the NFL to protect the financial interests of the billionaires that own NFL teams, especially the incompetent miser who owns the Bills. Nice job guys; you should be very proud of yourselves.
  13. Nobody is beating up Mckelvin, its a fair observation of his performance in big moments. These are not amateurs, they are professionals, making huge bucks, and its certainly okay to critique their performance.
  14. And of course I forgot to mention that after stumbling the game away, he was given one more oppurtunity in overtime - and fumbled the punt away
  15. There are certain players who have mad athletic talent but come up small in the biggest moments. They can be valuable contributors to a teams success, but put them in those big moments and disaster follows. Ronnie Harmon was a perfect example. From his 5 fumbles in the Rose Bowl to his dropped TD pass in the Cleveland playoff game, these are players that will break your heart, will choke in the biggest moments. Mckelvin certainly appears to be in that category. Lets go back to the Monday night New England game, where, on the verge of a huge upset victory, he fumbles the kickoff and loses the game. Whats often overlooked is that Mckelvin also fumbled the previous kickoff that game, but the Bills recovered. So in that huge moment, with a huge upset win on the national stage, he fumbles two consecutive kickoffs. And this Sunday against Pittsburg, with a wide open field, this most gifted and coordinated of athletes trips over his teamates legs. With all the room in the world Another commonality with these guys is that they appear to be oblivious to their own hall of fame choking. Harmon never understood the fuss over his dropped pass, and Mckelvin, after stumbling the game away, comes off the field pounding his chest in triumph. But you live with these guys because on a game by game basis, they are valuable contributors because of their natural ability. But please, in those big moments, keep them away from the ball!!
  16. The qualities Edwards lacked, specifically good decision making under intense pressure, are not really something a QB coach can help a great deal with. Mechanics, footwork etc the things that conribute to accuracy, are the type of things that a great QB coach can really help with. Thats why Cortez was more effective with Fitz than with Edwards
  17. Fitzpatrick has always had the tools (especially intelligence and decision making) to be a solid NFL starting QB; with one glaring exception - a lack of consistent accurracy. And thats a big big exception. But it appears as if the fundamentals coaching magic brought to the table by Cortez have helped Fitz considerably in this area, and if so, Cortez is worth his weight in gold
  18. The O Line - Howard was a huge upgrade over Green, but he was given some help. D Bell had an amazing game. Left on an island, especially during the last game tying drive, he handled his guy with ease. Very very impressive performance from him
  19. Maybin pick a disaster - inactive today. But what about Spiller. If you take an RB with a top ten pick, the expectation is that he is a starter in his rookie year. Anything less, for the RB position, is very troubling. Spiller can not beat out Fred Jackson? There is no way when the Bills picked him in April did they think he would not be their starter, or a major contributor by week 6. His big contribution today was a ridiculous fumble
  20. Well I guess you were drunk the previous night, and just flat out stupid every other night. Those are Kelly's words describing Wilson's lack of commitment to winning, not mine. Did you have an argument with that, or do you just suffer from a very low IQ
  21. about our "hall of fame" owner and his commitment to winning. Quote = "Matter of fact, I cried the day I was drafted by Buffalo. Well, I didn't cry. I had tears in my eyes. Let's get that straight. No, I didn't want to go. I didn't think Ralph Wilson was going to bring in the people it took to build a championship team there. So, I went to the USFL for two year" Things have not changed much in 30 years. The worst part is the posters on this very board who whined about Ralph not being elected to the Hall. It is a disgrace to the Hall of Fame that this guy, who has mismanaged this franchise so badly, and for so long, while making an obscene amount of money for his trouble, was eventually elected into the Hall of Fame, which is supposed to recognize excellence.
  22. Clueless actually. I mean is there a more mediocre analyst than this guy? Constantly with the completely obvious and superficial commentary with virtually no insight. I mean, you get more insight at a local tavern. So the big issue going into the Jags game was the defense inability to stop the run. Bills come out and play 4-3, using a nose tackle instead of a linebacker, and Steve never notices this much less comments on it. But we did get a number of insightful comments from him such as " you just can't commit penalties in the red zone etc" Gee really? I never heard that. There are very few NFL T analyst jobs out there. We should expect much much more from the guys who have those jobs
  23. Whatever you think of King's prediction, he does demonstrate his ignorance by referring to Roscoe Parish as Buffalo's "speed guy" Come on King, Lee Evans is our speed guy/deep threat and Roscoe is a slot/possession guy, so the stat you quoted makes perfect sense, and your take is ridiculous
  24. So game film is extensively? evaluated and the decision is made in the offseason to waive Incognito and keep Jamon Meredith. So Icognito is a starter on a very good Dolphin O Line, and Meredith, being entirely useless through trainig camp and into the season, is finally, finally cut. Who is making these talent evaluations? (its a rhetoric question)
