  1. This actually makes a lot of sense for the Browns.

Considering the moves the Jets have made this offseason (signing McCown, trading up to 3) they are prepping for Allen. But because they have traded up as far as they have, they are locked in to taking a QB no matter who is left. Therefore, in order for the Browns to get Allen and Barkley, they need the Giants to put some skin in the game (i.e. trade some picks) to lock them into a QB and allow Browns to take Allen at 2 and Barkley at 4.

  2. To confirm suspicions, I have smoked weed within the last 5 mins.

The Chargers owned the 1st pick and never traded up.  Why would a team draft their franchise QB and then trade it for a RB?  Think things through.

THEY DIDN'T BREAK THE LONGEST PLAYOFF DROUGHT IN PROFESSIONAL AMERICAN SPORTS THE PREVIOUS YEAR EITHER.

  3. Let me break this down into two statements that if you agree with than my scenario and logic make sense.

    1) Securing a top 3 QB is the Bills most important objective in the draft.

    2) Saquan Barkley is the best player in the draft, a generational talent.

Let's just say the Bills have to give up #12, #22, #56, and #65, how are the following scenarios not a win:

Giants: Bills get #2, #34, Giants get Barkley. Both teams give up less than they have to and both get their guy.

Colts: Bills get #3, #36, late round pick, Colts get Barkley. Bills get a top 2 QB, Colts get their guy for less.

Browns: Bills get #4, #35, #65 back, Browns get Barkley, #96. Browns gain picks, Bills secure a top 3 QB and get some picks back.

  4. The scenario is the Bills trade up to #1 ASAP. Once there let the league know that your plan is to draft Barkley and that you're willing to trade him for the best offer. Similar to what the Chargers did in the Eli/Rivers trade.

It would, hopefully, allow you to control the rest of the first round and recoup some of the picks made to move up.

I'd rather draft one  that overpay for a WR given Benjamin's looming extension.

Would let Mathews walk this year and Benjamin walk next year, scoop up comp picks and move up in the draft after the QB position is fixed.

No reason to throw money at the WR unless you can get an elite Calvin Johnson, AJ Green, or Julio Jones level-talent. Which we do not have access to.

Would target Chark in Round 2 or first pick in Round 3.

The NFL’s reigning tackles leader has watched former Bills teammates stampede out of Buffalo and turn into stars with the Patriots.

Seriously? There biggest star to date has been Hogan and it's a stretch to call him a "star".

Mike G - disgruntled, benched and probably cut.

    Scott Chandler- Really?

Gilmore - Toasted early and often but ended decent. Far from "star status" and not worth the contract.

What ? player am I missing?

The Bills actually have better luck with Pats players... Milloy, Spikes.

  8. The only thing this thread proves is that people around here have no idea what the difference is between an "Analyst" and "Director of Analytics".

My guess is that he's going to be building internal backend database applications and interfaces to manage data on prospects and FAs for the coaching staff and scouts. He will not be analyzing the results, he will be building algorithms to link data points and, possibly, weight them per coaches and staff recommendations but this will most likely be a warehouse for information and providing accessibility.

The Pats play the Steelers in a couple of weeks that will decide the AFC #1 seed.  If they knock off the steelers, then the season finale may be up for grabs. If we are 9-6 at that time, then the Bills will be going full blast at the patriots in Week 17

We play NE in Week 16.

  10. After looking at the Bills depth for all positions, I believe the most glairing need based on depth is at OLB, with CB coming in at a close second, and DE coming in at a distant third. WR, Safety, and RT have a lot of depth, but still have question marks.

Within the draft, I really don't see a lot of depth at LB in the later rounds that would produce a possible day 1 starter. That would be my # 1 need since we have two starting OLBs that are career special teams aces. DB is stacked this year, and I believe we can find a day 1 starter / contributor in the later rounds. DE is set with their two starters, but lack serious depth in a scheme that requires a lot of subbing in and out. Fortunately there is some solid depth here as well that we can address in the later rounds as well. We have projected starters, and projected backups for WR, S, and RT, but seriously lack the guy we truly desire so I could see us making a play on either one of these positions early in the draft. With this being said, here is my prediction for the upcoming draft.

1-10: Trade to Browns for 1-12, 4-108, 5-175 (Browns take Deshaun Watson)

1-12: Bills take OLB Ha'ason Reddick (With his athleticism, he'll fit any scheme. I project him to play the "Will" but will rush the passer often)

2-44: Bills take TE Evan Engram (Will be primarily a move TE with Clay / O'Leary filling most blocking duties)

3-75: Bills take CB Shaquill Griffin (Could start day 1. Physical, long armed, tackling CB)

4-108: Bills take DE Dawuane Smoot (More of a run defending DE, but would be thrown in rotation immediately)

5-156: Bills take WR Robert Davis (Had a great combine, but lacked production in college. Will play a role on special teams)

5-171 Bills take CB Brian Allen (Another combine freak. Could push for playing time, but needs a lot of work)

5-175 Bills take WR Levonte "Kermit" Whitfield (Kermit provides insurance to Listenbee, and is also a great return man)

6-195 Bills take OL Jerry Ugokwe (McDermott likes this kids potential as well as the school he comes from)

Well there you have it. As you can see there are no QBs taken this year, but the Bills will surely add one via free agency after the draft. The Bills will also sign a few more pass rushers and LBs as well.

    GO BILLS!

ROON can you share your thoughts on trading down?
