1. Saturday - watch youngest daughter perform with the cheerleading squad with SUNY Brockport. They go up three tiers on some stunts. She is a 2nd tier flier, but has not gone to the top yet (freshman rookie). Homecoming football game against St John Fisher.

Sunday - football on tv. If the weather is good a morning hike would be nice.

  2. I didn't want to start a new thread on this, but I thought this was an interesting quote from Henry in the Buff. news:

"We've always gone into that game intent on running the football. Hopefully we'll have the same game plan and the same outcome."

Uhh, you mean the same outcome as in Buffalo last year, right?  We've gotten scorched in every recent trip to NJ.

Notice when the Pats were in the same situation last week, all they talked about was the last game in Buffalo, not the most recent meeting at home.

Our division record lately has been a joke, but by the way the Bills and their opponents talk, you would think otherwise.  This team needs a meaner attitude.

Jets fans seem to feel that the Bills game will be tough, but they will win. Then they believe the 49ers are a gimmeee. So they are looking at going up against NE 5-0.

Keep looking to the next game or the game after that - best formula for a Bills upset. ;)

  3. I agree with you Rock about the Bills needing to find their heart.  This game, against a divisional rival, is as good a time to do it as any.

I'd like to go to a game in NY also.  Maybe we can both go next year.

    61346

That sounds like a plan. I wanted to do that this year while "our little girl" was living in Brooklyn. :D

  4. All good points. The Jets are a team that can be beaten, but the Bills need to find their heart first.

I was cruising a Jets chat room this morning and many there are worried. I do not know why.

The Bills will win when they stop shooting themselves in the foot. As a long-time Bills fan who is numb from all the the mistakes, I will still have my best game face on and be optimistic on Sunday.

Wish I was going to McFaddens to watch the game! :D

    GO BILLS!

  5. Here's a vote for "The Band." Whether it was backing up Dylan or making music on their own, they had a sound and a vibe unlike no other.

Rent a copy of Scorcese's "The Last Waltz" and see for yourself.

My vote is for the Band. They put together a fusion of rock, beebop, blues, country, folk and even classical that inspired a new form of music.

The Eagles were a product of that fusion.

Eric Clapton went to jam with them to learn what they were doing.

They are also on the cover of Time Magazine 1/12/1970.

Take A Load Off Fanny. :D

  6. I'm so sick of our DE's always swinging wide in what seems like a 20-yd arc around opposing QB's. Have they never been taught a swim move to get back inside, or anything else for that matter? Every friggin' time they swing wide. It's embarrasing.

:I starred in Brokeback Mountain:  our DE's, Schobel too!

    57218

They need to study Bruce Smith's film. Start with the outside arc and spin to the inside. Poetry in violent motion.

Oh, stevestojan, I did an ON topic reply!

  7. My #1 would have been that list's #34.

My #1 overall movie is easily The Shining.

House of 1,000 Corpses and The Living Dead are two very awful movies that didn't make this guy's list but nevertheless still had some memorable scenes for me.

The original b&w Night of the Living Dead was very scary.

    I saw it at a drive-in!

  8. :(

The only ignorance in this thread is the Deuschbags talking about the team being in L.A.,,,I said in this thread that I wish Jerry Jones was our owner because of the things he has done, you guys started talking about the Bills being is the west not me and for the record if they were in the west I would be utterly happy because I would finally be able to catch a game as I live in Las Vegas and the fans would'nt always B word about Drew Bledsoe and not the horrific management. :I starred in Brokeback Mountain:

Cool, I have not been flipped off yet today. :P

I think the main point being made was that Jones would have moved the team years ago. Ralph kept them in Buffalo where they belong, and as an owner does not suck, really.

But that is just my opinion.

  9. Ralph Wilson is the only founding member of the American Football League that has kept his TEAM in the original CITY.

    The ONLY one.

So Stephen, if you would rather he had sold the team and you were cheering for the Los Angeles Bills, than I guess there is no explaining the enormity of the above achievement.

  10. People who call themselves Bills fans and then just RIP the team.  One of the girls in the office just said that she would not pay the money to go see them because they can't win.

I told her that it's a good thing that there are REAL Bills fans who buy the tickets or she would only see away games. I'm disappointed that they lost again but GOOD GRIEF I don't want to read the DOOM here and then hear the DOOM at the office.

Where are the razor blades and guns kept. (just kidding)

This is why I do not B word about OT posts. I would rather have a laugh, get informed, or share a "family moment" any day, than come here after a loss and see 100 negative posts!

Nikki called me yesterday in the first quarter. She had flown to Cleveland (from Brooklyn) for the weekend and was watching the Bills at a sports bar. She just wanted to talk through the game with another fan, because the Bills were only on the small screen with no sound. :)

I am sick of all the negativity. I feel it too, but cannot sit here and read it. Mondays are tough enough!

  11. You know back in the 80's, everyone blamed Ralph for being tight with his wallet.

He hired Polian to run things and spent what was necessary to build a great franchise that held together for a decade.

It was a dynamic GM that put together players and staff to get the gameplan done. Everyone was on the same page.

This team reminds me too much of 1981. Who's on first?

At least I will be able to buy end zone seats and sit on the 40 yard line soon.

  12. Because DB is still looking for his first 2 recievers, and in the example cited, Shelton was still trying to get to the flat and Bledsoe was down already.

    52369

In that example, too, the defensive back was sprinting past Shelton on a beeline to Bledsoe. Had Shelton popped him then returned to his route, it would have bought Drew 3 seconds easily.

Alternately, if Shelton was his #1 choice, Shelton's action would have worked - run past the coverage and have the ball delivered immediately.

    Just a stevestojan play.
