  1. To make that more clear, I think freedom of speech means no one has to stand or sing the national anthem, there is no enforceable law on the matter. However there is neither is there a law protecting that person from consequences of doing so, such as getting fired or not getting hired. Personally I don't think that's a good way to protest, I think disrespecting (or perceived disrespect of the) flag detracts from whatever cause you are trying to promote. I don't at all feel bad for Kaep or any other who suffers the consequences of their actions. In regards to Jefferson, I think he's a terrible football player (I've felt that long before this thread) and this won't matter much going forward.
  2. I'm assuming he means they don't add all of the extra notes at the end of the anthem to make it "theirs"
  3. You have the ability to tell whether someone is black from their name? That's racist
  4. At no point, ever in this thread had I supported his post...Add very poor insight to your TBD resume. In fact I specifically called it flawed in OUR (you and I)conversation...Pay attention
  5. So if you hear the name Mr Johnson, you already know whether they are black or not? What about Lee, you know for sure they are Chinese? If you believe so, that's racist.
  6. You are terrible at this, I don't see the additions you add later on as I'm typing my response...furthermore the point remains the same name and race are two different things. Again, you are projecting your mistakes on others.
  7. You didn't post a link when I responded to that, genius...you posted them afterwards. Don't blame me for your inability to properly form your posts.
  8. Oh I've offended thee...I'm SOOO sorry. I know editing my posts to correct grammar makes me a bad person, again, I apologize. One thing to keep in mind, you started this line of conversation, you have now become upset over your own actions.
  9. Kelly the Dog, on 01 Sept 2017 - 4:27 PM, said: Wait, now name discrimination is the problem? This is getting exciting.
  10. Nothing has been turned on me, and can't be turned on me as I didn't participate in those conversations, and there are no "tactics". This isn't a military operation, it's a conversation. Someone is over thinking this... You are using lots of words, to accomplish nothing of substance. I find that fascinating in and of itself. I applaud you on what seems like intense thought on a meaningless topic though.
  11. The OP made a simple opinion and statement (as flawed as it may be). I haven't seen a comment about the flag in many pages, I just see people arguing random social justice warrior topics and banging their chests about it. As stated previously I find it quite amusing. How does calling into question one's very questionable "empathy" self serve? How could that possibly serve me?... and last, we are in a football forum, there is no such thing as a dangerous tactic, what is the danger I'm facing exactly? Did you just threaten me?
  12. How did we get from the OP's opinion on respecting the flag...to self righteous social justice warriors pounding their chest and declaring which opinions are acceptable or not? I find this all very humorous. People get very proud of themselves for pretending to care about the cause of others.
  13. Yes, however 35% of statistics made up on the spot are 65% accurate... https://www.profootballfocus.com/
  14. I'm sensing some people on here are claiming to be social justice warriors just so they can give themselves a moral pat on the back for fighting their perceived good fight.
  15. I blame you for blaming him for whatever you blamed him for
  16. You are giving NFL players way too much credit as some of these guys are really dumb, however my point was more aimed at the people here thinking he wasn't allowed to get fired because of it for some magical reason.
  17. The players might know now...but there are plenty here who seem to be confused on that topic. Freedom of speech simply means you can more or less say or symbolize whatever you want... It doesn't mean people can't hold what you do or say against you. They have the right to protest, people have the right to think they are dbags for doing so, and employers have the right to fire them or not hire them for doing so. Hell, you can get fired for meaningless face book posts, or for no reason at all.
