  1. Either way, we will need to pick LBs. Also, if we had good enough corners, the 3-4 would not be an issue. Mario Clark and Charles Romes did OK.
  2. IIRC, much of Merriman's contract is guaranteed. We should bring him back and see if he can play, and if he can't, then let him walk.
  3. I think you misunderstand. I never said to sit the rookies. The guys we have playing next to them are my issue.
  4. No, but you can get some FAs to hold down the fort while the rookies develop.
  5. A perfect throw beats perfect coverage every time. I'm more concerned about the times when he doesn't have perfect coverage.
  6. Go back to the days when we had Braxton blocking for OJ, or Leaks blocking for Cribbs. Get a fullback that can also run and catch, as well as block.
  7. I'm willing to bet we don't. First, the team seems to be set on Fitz as the starting QB. Second, my guess is that they will draft defense in the first round.
  8. If we really do have that much cap room, why would we spend it on other team's palyers that aren't worth it. We give enough of it to our own.
  9. I voted for Fred, and when I did I saw he was leading 27-1. I took this question as which RB would I rather build my ground game on, and for me it's FJ. He's not as fast as CJ, granted, but he has good speed and more power.
  10. If we were really able to build that kind of offense and defense, we would not need that top 5 in the league franchise QB. Trent Dilfer won a Super Bowl.
  11. We traded Lynch for a 4th and a 6th, so I could see maybe a 4th for Jackson.
  12. i think McGee is gone next year, because he has a big contract and cannot stay healthy. As for McKelvin, does he get as many chances as Donte Whitner?
  13. I gave him a "D." I'm all for building through the draft, and his draft picks are startring to look and play better. However, I wish he would do more through free agency. At any rate, we've gone from 4-12 to what looks like 5-11. Not a whole lot of improvement to crow about.
  14. Doesn't he get spelled by Javon Ringer?
  15. Why? He has had sufficient opportunity to validate his #1 pick status, just like Donte Whitner did.
  16. $8-10M seems way too high. $5-6M, maybe?
  17. But are you prepared to see him play in anything other than sub packages?
  18. That may change, but if we keep Fred and Choice, why not spread the love?
  19. There are those on this board that believe we can get a 2nd-rounder for FJ.
  20. So you would would trade four prime draft choices for one player, when they could be used on defense?
  21. I have siad in the past that I would be for a change to the 4-3, but now I'm not so sure. These players have had 2 years in the system, so why not just get players that are better fits for it? Which, in turn, depends on what DCs you can convince to interview.
  22. No, I think Gailey is safe for next year. Our IR list reads like War and Peace again, and there are still some holdovers that need getting rid of.
  23. Two things need to happen before we draft a QB in the 1st round this year. First, Fitz must be told to leave. Second, we need to switch to a 4-3, eliminating the need to pick a 3-4 OLB first.
