Cleveland has a rich history of showing that they know what they are doing with multiple high draft picks. Be very afraid.
And with those picks they have won just as many Super Bowls as we have.
-
Hate it! Feel almost as bad as I did after the Roscoe Parrish pick. I said when Roscoe came out he was too small to ever be a #1 or #2 receiver and you only use 2nd round picks on guys who can be a #1 or #2 receiver. That 5.6 40 time is just too trouble for me. Might be able to play guard, but never tackle! I want to be wrong!
So, we don't line him up as a tackle eligible.

I hope you're used to the leftovers, because that's really what we're getting next year. EJ smiling - no doubt about that.
Thurman Thomas was our first pick in 1988 as a second-rounder. Was he a leftover?
-
If we can get Jawaun James in round 2 and Niklas in round 3, OMG.
I'm happy with any combo of OT/TE, unless there is a surprising talent remaining on the board when it's our turn.
I was thinking ASJ in round 2 and Cameron Fleming in round 3.

Bills History with round 1 WR's has some similarities to today...
1983, Round 1 / Pick 19: Perry Tuttle, WR, Clemson
1979, Round 1 / Pick 5: Jerry Butler, WR, Clemson
Tuttle was picked in 1982. Our first-rounders in 1983 were Tony Hunter and Jim Kelly.

If you don't like this move you should thank God we didn't give a king's ransom to Houston to draft Clowney!!! Hate losing next year's #1 pick but if we were going to do it Watkins and Mack were the guys to target. Now we can go OT in the 2nd and then DE in the 3rd (or vice versa!).
When do you pick a RB?
-
Does it take an old man like me to remember how many Bills 1st-rounders didn't work out? Terry Miller, Booker Moore, Perry Tuttle, Ronnie Harmon, James Williams, Mike Williams, and Tony Hunter, anyone?
Also, how many of you were naysayers in 1987 when we gave up two firsts and a second for Bennett? Our first pick in 1988, in the 2nd round? Some Thurman Thomas guy you may have heard of?

Not really. If you are going to be a "bottom line kind of guy", the only stats that count are wins and losses.
The idea behind stats to me, is to get an idea about where and how to improve your team's performance. Merely looking at points scored/allowed doesn't really zero in on how to identify problems.
No, wins and losses indicate how good a team is as a whole. An offense is as good as the number of points it scores; a defense is as good as the number of points it allows.
-
How about we just rank them in the number of points scored and the number of points allowed? In the end, they are the only stats that count.

Dude, when you bring Hitler and Jews into a conversation, you're kind of treading on thin ice. FWIW, he also calls Obama "the enemy." Here is the clip: https://www.youtube....h?v=1eF6vCv13bw If you watch this and don't think that ESPN might have wanted to distance themselves from this guy, you're crazy. And I agree with you, I think people/the media can often times be overly politically correct, but this is kind of an extreme example. And again, I don't think anyone would want to take away ol' Hank's freedom to say what he did. Also, in a bit of irony pertaining to our discussion, Hank, Jr. kind of harasses the Fox anchor at the beginning of the clip, don't you think?
A lot of people have called Obama the enemy, or worse, because of his politics. Hank may have gone a little overboard, but the least ESPN could have done was warned him first. Oh, well, what's done is done.
With respect to Kluwe, I respect his right to be an advocate for whatever cause he wants to support; however, I also respect the ST coach's right to be a bigot. Neither is illegal. However, if Kluwe alleges his release was due to his activism, he has no hard proof. Also, he has no hard proof that the coach said what he alleges. The only place this could play out is in the court of public opinion.

Speaking up in favor of equal rights and comparing the president to Adolf Hitler are two totally different animals. Although, I agree that both ESPN and the Vikings have every bit the right to terminate the employment of whoever they want just as much as both individuals have the right to say whatever they want in the first place. It was incredible to me after Hank Williams, Jr. got fired that people were saying, "what happened to free speech?" Well I can walk into work and tell my female boss she has a nice ass. I'm free to do it- it's legal and I won't get arrested for it- but my company would be within their rights to fire me for it.
Wouldn't that constitute sexual harassment, which is illegal? And I, for one, do not believe Hank compared Obama to Hitler. Rather, his remark was that two polar opposites, Obama and Boehner, golfing together is comparable to two other polar opposites, Hitler and a Jew, golfing together. Sorry, I don't buy into the media hysteria that forbids anything negative being said about issues that determine political correctness.

Helps when you have players that agree to what you're offering.
GO BILLS!!!
Also helps to have good players to give offers to.

I'm also awaiting the "Chandler sucks" posts.
-
Hank Williams Jr got fired for his remarks, so is this really a surprise?

According to Chris Brown, Marrone is encourage about our TEs.
"I feel we've gotten good production," Marrone said. "I think that Scott Chandler had a fine year. He really did. I think that we have players in place here, on this roster, which can be very productive. The tight ends under contract are Chris Gragg, Tony Moeaki and Lee Smith. Mike Caussin, who was on I-R is a restricted free agent and Chandler is scheduled to be unrestricted.
Does this mean we're going to try and resign Chandler?

possibly, or perhaps it's just an attempt to validate one's intuitive conclusion to a results oriented 'game' with a comprehensive matrix of possibilities.
or maybe it's the damn champagne talking.
Or something stronger.

This is going to be a long off-season...
Aren't they all?
-
Good stuff, but I don't really care for a RB in the third. Can draft one when we actually need one.
We do need one. Our third-stringer has not shown much and both Spiller and Jackson are entering contract years.
-
Hate your draft.
1. No guards or tackles early; nothing to patch our biggest holes = another year of futility.
2. You want another 235 lb inside LB to stop the run? This needs more thought.
3. Carlos Hyde is reportedly lazy; needed a kick in the hinnie to get him started this year. This guy is no Fred Jackson.
jjmac; did you watch Evans throw a tantrum early last night, then disappear???
I did. It's only reinforces why I'm not a fan of his and don't want him on our roster.
I'd rather have Khalil Mack, but Mosely would be a good pick as well.
Allen Robinson is a good WR and has potential, but I do not see him being an instant impact player. Which is why I'd rather sign a veteran WR in free agency. We drafted 2 WR's last year and I don't want to use more draft picks on that position when we have other needs. We need a WR who can help the Bills immediately, not another rookie who will need time to develop.
As for Carlos Hyde, I doubt he lasts all the way to the 3rd round. Even if he does, I do not see RB as that big of a need. I see the 3rd round as an opportunity of getting another QB.
Mark Vader, I think a RB in the 3rd is a good idea. Develop a young RB during Fred's contract year in case we part ways with him afterward.

I was a technical sergeant in the Air Force, stationed at Malmstrom AFB, Montana, with a 4-year-old son. Now he's 18, 6-4, 250 lbs, and a senior in high school.

I like the draft, but the fact that you did not for for Mike Evans in Rd 1 would cause many on this board to deem you a heretic.
I agree we need a big back-but want about Andre Williams from Boston College or Jeremy Hill from LSU?

Half way to tee time.
