  1. How anyone could look at him and think he was an OLB I have no clue. Even trimmed down from last year he still looks like a DE.

He appeared to be moving better than last year. Agree held the point of attack well.

The pass rush from the DL has to get better or they will be exposed. I'm fine with the heavy rotation, but I want to see Marcell and the starting unit on most third downs.

PS - I still think Adolphus Washington should be split out to DE and Hughes used as a stand up OLB in a few packages.

  2. I would switch to college. I watch a decent amount of college games now. There are multiple great games every week.

The NFL has maybe 2 marquee games a week.

Without the Bills , I would just quit the NFL as I don't live in a city with a team.

Maybe if I move, I would adopt a new team but most likely not

  3. I don't think they win this one. Grind it out teams from the North don't do well with the heat and humidity. The Bills don't have the firepower at WR to put up a ton of points early. Also I don't think they dominate the LOS - it will be more of a stalemate.

The Jets had no credible receiving threat. The Panthers have two great targets. That will be a challenge for an all new secondary in their first road game.

I think this one could get away from them early, and they lose 27-10.

They will then win the next four and be 5-1 prior to taking on Oakland. Denver has no QB. Cinci is imploding. Atlanta is weak up front and the Bills can ball control that game all day. And I'm still not sold on Tampa, though I loved their draft. Tampa has the Patriots and at Arizona prior to playing the Bills with division foe Carolina after the Bills. Classic trap game on the road against a non-conference opponent.

  4. OP YOUknow Luck didn't play last week. ????

Yes that is my point and the premise why they are in rebuild mode. Their season is lost. He is nowhere near coming back to play. He hasn't even practiced. Add the fact their defense is terrible, their o-line is terrible, and their HC is terrible. That leave Luck and a WR. The WR can be moved for picks to rebuild around Luck

If you are asking me would I rather have TY Hilton at $11m a year with 3 years left on his contract with his history of production than Sammy with one year left, with not the same level of production at what surely is going to command $15m +

All day every day. I would trade a 2nd and a 4th for him

Yes that is my thought as well

Trading Sammy does not equate into they do not want talented even high priced WRs. They moved Sammy because he was never going to sign here long term. They got value for a guy that was going to be gone.

Beane said no big trades / FA Acquisitions, build through draft so no.

When did he say that? No GM can solely build through the draft. That is a moronic statement if he said it. They just added 30 new players to the roster and only 7 came via the draft.

  5. Colts are probably only a few weeks away from shutting down Luck for the year.

Pagano should not have been brought back and the Colts will be in full rebuild mode by week 6 if they are not there already.

TY Hilton has elite speed. He is under contract for three more years. $11 million in salary next year, 8 million this year.

Would you trade a second in 2018 for TY this year to improve the WR group? A third and Mills, when Henderson is ready to come off suspension??

I wouldn't make a move yet but if they start 3-1 with no credible deep threat emerging, I would be tempted...

  6. Marcell was fine. He was doubled most of the snaps he was out there. Hardly dominant though and I expect much more as the season progresses. If not I will be first to admit I'm wrong.

I understand a DL rotation. What I don't understand is why both back-ups are on the field at the same time. On the Jets TD drive, the Bills DT were Washington and Thornton I believe. That made no sense to me. It was right after the Bills had scored. The defense had played 9 plays so far in the second half. The Jets first four plays went for 8, 11, 12, and 8.

That said Carolina is going to be a hot muggy mess this Sunday. Look for at least two guys to cramp up. The best weapon, will be sustained drives by the Bills offense

  7. Cam looks bad when under pressure. The Bills generated very little pass rush today. I think a few more blitzes will be needed for a win on the road.

However, Mcdermott is a bald Jauron so he will keep it safe. Play zone and try to keep Cam contained. It is not a bad scheme, but if you pressure Cam I think they can get a few turnovers early.

  8. I thought it was Sully but I've never heard him speak with the camera on.

I don't think it is an unreasonable question. He is a hack with an agenda though. His agenda this year is the team made moves for 2018 and not to win in 2017. So he will look for angles that fit that narrative, like trading Watkins.

He won't mention that the DB play without Darby/Gilmore was more than adequate. Add the fact Sammy only had 58 yards receiving on 5 targets. At least after game 1, the trades are at worst a tie and maybe favor Buffalo a bit even without factoring in the Darby injury.

  9. Jets.

they are not very good. 21-12? Home game? Well, take it and run, but watch out.

    30 new players

    New defense

    New offense

I'm thankful we had the Jets. It is like week one in college with a bunch of Freshman

I did not see any obvious defensive communication breakdowns. Maybe one on offense. Rex had five a game.

I'm happy. Now on to real games

  10. Too conservative down the stretch

TT threw with anticipation and towards the middle of the field early and often. He did more of this as the season progressed last year and he looks like he took a tiny step forward. He played very well. Can he sustain it? I don't know. Would I take 32 TD and 16 picks or 24 TD and 8 picks? I don't know either. All I know is once again he made more than enough plays to win the game.

Right side of the line still looks terrible

The new defensive backfield was solid though this may be their easiest test of the season. Safety play appears mcuh better than last year. I would still like to see A. Williams signed to play a third safety/CB hybrid role. Future opponents will spread them out and attack the secondary

    Schmidt was terrible

As you can't see the entire field on TV, I have no idea if there were open WR downfield or if there were even that many deep routes called. So all I will say is they need to get Jones and Mathews involved earlier. Like or dislike TT, everyone knows teams will stack the line in an attempt to stop the run. So either call more misdirection TT runs or call more deep balls. That is the only way to get the defense out of the box.

As for 2018 draft, it will be DT and LB in the first round.

  11. He was doubled well over half of the snaps he played

He didn't make a single impact play though he held his ground for the most part

    Neither did Hughes

Shaq had a fewa nd KW had a few

Overall quite a good effort against the run so the DL must have done an adequate job

I was expecting more from Dareus but he didn't play poorly
