  1. The reporters keep asking about the run game without asking the obvious question. Why did they change to a zone blocking scheme? The only missing pieces from the last two #1 rush offenses are Felton, CK, and Gilislee.

It is a legit question. They could have redone the entire pass offense and simply left the run game as is. The formations are really no different.

I think the reason for the poor run game is more about the defenses they have faced and not scheme. But they faced 8 guys in the box last year too.

  2. Back to the question, which I should have made clearer...I should have put it in the title...oh wait...

Was the loss to Carolina a good loss, in that it changed our offense?

If it took that loss for Denison to figure out TT and the offense, then God help us. Did they not watch the tape of the last 32 games? Probably not, because they traded away the only deep threat.

Clay is playing great. Contract year?????

  3. Why is it that EVERY SINGLE WIN there is someone talking about something that went our way....

Do you realize that this usually happens to us OP? Enjoy the win.

Winning in the NFL usually involves a break or two.

I'm ok with the no call there, but if that was Zay Jones getting pulled from behind this board would be going nuts.

If you're going to beat a team of this quality on the road you're going to need some lucky breaks (the "fumble" by Ryan for a TD, their top two WR's getting hurt, no call on 4th and 1), win the turnover battle, make big plays in key moments. and win the time of possession. All four happened. Great win.

    Agreed

  4. I would waive Mills now and bring in just about anyone at this point. He is actually worse than last year.

I would make a run at Joe Thomas. The offensive line is a disaster. Even if Glenn gets healthy, the right side of the line is awful.

Any other OT options out there?

I still think calling the Colts about Hilton is worth a shot.

  5. I love Sammy, but giving guys with his injury history big $$$ is the road to salary cap hell and perpetual suck.

They didn't have to. All they had to do was pick up 5th year option and franchise him if he stayed healthy.

No doubt even McBean is kicking themselves a little bit.

Gaines looks solid and that second round pick will hopefully end the nightmare of Jordan Mills
