  1. Two great defenses and a very good one

    New scheme

    No Watkins

    Glenn injury

It's a long season - if teams want to put 8 in the box then play action should be there all game long. Just need to make them pay on first down. There are numerous ways to get 5 yards on first down without a handoff. Clay, O'Leary, Thomas should be used in two and three TE sets that have run/pass options for TT. Getting Dimarco the ball in the flats. Motioning Shady out of the backfield to see if they are in man coverage against a LB.

  2. Just because he is slow and white doesn't make him a good blocker. He is a terrible blocker but seems to have decent hands and seems to find openings in the secondary. If he keeps getting better passing out of the two TE set could be quite productive. Even three TE, Shady, and a WR would put five viable receiving threats out there against a base defense or a package with on less CB and an extra safety. That would allow some significant missmathces.

  3. Actually if you listen Clay was the fourth option. Running was the third option. There were two WRs in patterns to the right where he was moving. If the defense takes away the WRs it is a sprint to the pylon between TT and a linebacker or safety. Bit Clay kept running his route even though there was little chance the ball would come his way.

Look for more designed misdirection over the next few weeks. Roll out and draw the defenders then pass back to a TE or RB.

  4. 3 games vs Miami and the Jets. Should be 3 wins. I think. Then it's find 5 more wins and we're in. I'll be conservative here: Tampa: win (their D is decimated) Saints: win (Brees on the road outside) Toss up. Colts: win (until i see Luck) Toss up. Nope. Can't find five. 5-11. At best. Up from 3-13. But I am very encouraged with McD. Sent from my SM-G928V using Tapatalk

You aren't very good at math. They are already 2-1 and you just named six wins. That is 8-8

Ah, Bills September hope. Its a beautiful thing

Most pessimists had a loss predicted this week. The defense is better than predicted. The coaching seems better. They are one drop from 3-0. Ryan, Brees, and Brady are the only elite QB's left on the schedule. Chiefs, Chargers, and Raiders all have good QB play but off all those teams only Atlanta, KC, and the Patriots can truly dominate a defense.

But I see your point, I thought they were playoff bound with Edwards at 5-1 and Fitz at 4-1

  5. New York Jets

    @ Carolina Panthers

    Denver Broncos

    @ Atlanta Falcons

    @ Cincinnati Bengals

    Tampa Bay Buccaneers

    Oakland Raiders

    @ New York Jets

    New Orlean Saints

    @ San Diego Chargers

    @ Kansas City Chiefs

    New England Patriots

    Indianapolis Colts

    Miami Dolphins

    @ New England Patriots

    @ Miami Dolphins

My predictions have changed a bit based on three weeks.

I don't see a win at Atlanta. I thought they would take a step back after the SB and I have never been a Matt Ryan guy. I thought we could run on their D but the running game with this zone blocking is just not working.

However, I now see a victory over Oakland. Unless that game is moved back to a 4PM start I think the Bills win. The West coast team playing early on the East coast is a real issue.

I now see future wins : Cinci, Tampa, Oakland, Jets, Pats, Colts, Dolphins x 2

    Losses: Atlanta, Chiefs, Pats

    Toss ups: Saints and Chargers

I can see a path to 12 wins. The schedule doesn't look nearly as difficult as it did. New England's offensive line is garbage and their defense is even worse. There is a good chance Luck sits the rest of the season. Sooner or later an empty LA stadium will be detrimental on the Chargers.

I see difficult games against Tampa, Oakland, and the Saints but they are all at home. Miami will be out of the playoffs by the time they meet. KC looks like a SB contender (until Andy Reid chokes in the playoffs). And there will just be a game that makes no sense, like holding Brees to 125 yards and losing or last second loss to Bucs on a pass to OJ Howard the player I most wanted in the draft.

After all that, 10-6 losing the Division in Foxboro week 16.

  6. Its looking more and more like a Whaley problem over the past 5-6 years. I believe it will become more evident as the year goes on...

Whaley hired Rex Ryan? Whaley changed the defense to that **** show we watched for the last two years? Whaley never got a chance to pick his HC. By all reports he wanted Hue Jackson and they would have kept Schwartz.

  7.

The defense just shows how ****ty a job the Ryan brothers did the past two years.

Yup. Any other defense but theirs, and they were a playoff team

Said in the pre game thread that this was like the Arizona game last year. It totally feels like that game last year- great win.

I called that win last year too.

  8. Doesn't the first video show Glenn getting beat badly for a sack?

Stunts worked really well. At least the ones shown were a biut delayed as well. Not sure what the down and distance were. Seems like you beat stunts with a quick underneath passing game that negates the stunt because the ball is already out of the QB hands.

This offense needs more WR screens

The poster that made the point of constanlty changing schemes is dead on. Rex ruined a great defense. McD and and all new defensive backfield looks perfeclty capable so far. Now we have Dennison and McD possibly ruining a top 10 offense by trading the best WR and switching the run blocking.

My only pause is the Carolina defense is really good. This was a road game. Almost no one thought this game was going to be a win.

Denver will tell us a lot.
