  1. Where is the support group thread for those who are in the playoffs and have Jalen as their QB
  2. He's yet to regain his initial burst, Bills will have to scheme conservatively around this group of DBs
  3. I don't understand how there's even a discussion on this. It was the blatantly correct thing to do, and if Devin HAD scored on this play, then that's a massive mental mistake and bad coaching for not drilling it into his head to NOT score in this situation.
  4. That could be a wildly misleading stat, in prior games Diggs came off on bigger sets, when the offense only wanted 1-3 yards. Would need a lot more analysis to make this an actually useful stat
  5. Bills are generally excellent in zone/man combo D, so this will be an interesting game - assuming both teams have something to play for
  6. I was pleasantly surprised by Spencer Brown. I fear Morse might retire. He should, honestly
  7. Other than some tackling issues, the players mostly played within their expected abilities IMO
  8. Bills change their fronts in the red zone. They don’t have the talent to dominate on D, so instead they invite you to run between the 20s, and then try to force you to pass for TDs in the red zone, where the linebackers make that super difficult. Generally when you have Allen, forcing teams into FGs is winning on D
  9. That last drive was almost legendary. You gotta give the offense credit for that. And in the first half the Bills O was quite good. Honestly this really came down to one truly horrific 3rd quarter when the Bills resembled someone like the Texans rather than the SB contending team they are
  10. note I’m just evaluating the roster talent. pretty much any mediocre roster with Josh Allen, I’m gonna call one of the very best teams in the league
  11. They’ve also figured out how to mesh all that OLine talent they bought in the off-season and Joe Mixon is easily better than anything the Bills have. Defensively, the Bengals have a good, but not great front 7, but an elite safety battery that’s similar to a healthy Poyer/Hyde battery, and probably better corners than the Bills. I do like the Bills DLine more (though you can’t call them elite without Von) and they are elite at LB. I’d probably give the nod to the Bengals on D because of better secondary play without good enough front 7 play But the Bills can still win this because of Allen. IMO, if you rank the overall rosters Bills are probably around 5th in the AFC. But with Allen, you wouldn’t bet agains them making the Super Bowl
  12. They ran a lot of stuff that kind of avoided/nullified the DTs. You gotta remember that McDaniel/Shannahan we’re pretty much the best run game designers in the league. Plus, the bills were often playing double high as you pointed. Bills weren’t gonna like giving up 8 yards a pop but they were clearly fine with giving up yards on the ground in order to try and nullify the pass game
  13. Fair! The bills have a not good secondary. I’ll leave the comparisons out I ain’t spelling that name out
  14. Some day after thoughts here 1) Tre lost at least one step, if not more. With ACLs it can take 2 years to regain full explosion. Right now the Bills have one of the worst secondaries in the league 2) Dorsey has a really tough job. He’s got an elite QB, a good set of skills players. If Allen had a decent OLije and this team might score 80% of its drives. But he has a really bad one, and how to manage this offense is complicated as *****. Do you limit the routes and ask these guys to run mostly short stuff or do you trust Allen to be magical and continue to run the longer developing stuff, and get him to make absurd throws on the run after his protection fails after 2 seconds if not immediately? 3) the bills have one of the best front 7s in the league that’s being hamstrung by its corner play. The Phins have a decent OLine, but the Bills can still held Tua to almost 50% (17-30), and that’s because on a bunch of plays they got some pressure on him or the Bills linebackers took away easy throws - but those outside yards were there 4) fortunately for the Bills, no one else has the unique threats that stress the corners like the Dolphins present. They’ve somehow captured the two best deep threats in the league 5) the Bengals are flat out more talented than this roster. Gonna have to be on Allen 6) forget drafting WR. The Bills need to draft/FA picking a starting RT, LG, and another corner who’s a 4.3 - 4.4 guy and convert Tre to a nickel or safety, unless he regains speed this off-season. Think he can be an elite safety, but as a corner without his normal initial burst he’s just average at best. You fix the oline and think we’re fine at WR
  15. Interesting note - with this win the bills will have defeated every teams that’s likely to make the playoffs in the AFC, with the exception of the Bengals, whom they play in the last game of the regular season, possibly with the #1 seed on the line , and the chargers
  16. He’s very good
  17. Wait why didn’t Shannahan go for it
  18. Niners defense have one of the better defenses I’ve seen over the years. The front 7 is just so dominant across the board. Don’t think I’d want to see them play the Bills in the SB
  19. I agree there can be some uncertainty around involved, and even when there isn’t I will almost always ask that we forgive and educate- because dumping someone merely radicalizes someone. At the same time, Jerry is a 55 year old man or whatever, and the newspaper is a tiny one that can’t AFFORD to lose much readership, and most importantly zero uncertainty around what he said being bigoted or not Like when Jake Fromm had those old texts surface I had mostly empathy for the guy, and was happy the Bills kept him on and me seemed to have learned from it. If the Bills had fired him, at such a young age, that leads to resentment towards pretty much everyone involved, and may have radicalized him. That’s essentially how we end up with radical politicians of all backgrounds and parties. An event occurs, and rather than empathy for everyone involved, someone is just dumped aside
  20. Sincere apologies, I tried to delete as fast as I could as i realized it was inappropriate here
  21. Honestly I’ve always found it fairly straightforward. If you publicly act on a stereotype of an entire people, one that culture itself doesn’t embrace, it’s bigotry. Note the exceptions in that definition : You can think whatever the heck you want, hell you can even joke around with your friends in private That group of people themselves have to say “this is bad”. That separates “Germans like to be punctual” with “Women suck at Math”. I mean it’s not even that hard to not air stereotypes in public forums. I’ve managed to do it for 43 years now, though of course I could only communicate in like 38 of them
  22. I can’t believe people are blaming “cancel culture” or saying “you shouldn’t get fired for having an opinion”. like WTF is wrong with us here? If I went on a podcast and said “well you know I don’t think black people and women can handle tech culture, they’re just raised that way”, and my employer found out about it, what are the odds I’d be able to retain my job? Let’s list some things here that are absolute truth A) everyone is entitled to an opinion B) an opinion can be bigoted C) bigotry is bad D) there is no civil right that says you can not be fired for being a bigot E) we are capitalistic. Literally every private business relies on selling a service or good to a human being F) the vast majority of human beings, agree that bigotry is bad G) employing people who are widely known to have bigoted opinions will reduce the people who are willing to purchase your product. Reference F for why H) Facing consequences for airing your bigoted opinions to the world is not “canceling” someone. No one in stopping Sullivan from to continuing to air bigoted opinions I) I have never gotten to “I” in a list
  23. What irritates me about the entire thing is like we sit here and say “stand up for women!” And we really should. Fully agree with you. But I think I the irritation is how much women need allies….STILL. Like we can’t just treat them like human beings, because there’s too many in this world that treat them like a monolithic minority that men need to deal with. It’s dehumanizing.
  24. Don’t think Orlovsky is wrong, but the real question is - are the bills talented enough on offense to win a SB? 10-3 against this schedule suggests yes. There isn’t an easy fix to this either. Dion Dawkins is an above average LT rather than top 10, Morse is really good, everyone else on the line is poor to average. They’re barely good enough against decent DLines to protect Josh, and open some holes. I’m still open to Davis being legit though, and thinking McKenzie is good as well along with Knox. I think there’s some issues with game planning on offense where somehow these dudes are being limited. It also might just come down to Dorsey no longer trusting his OLine and thus dampening the game plan But I don’t know that you can remake an entire OLine in a single off-season when you’re gonna be drafting towards the end of the first, and you have a huge amount of money going to like 8-10 players, including a 40M QB
  25. I mean this aired over 12 hours ago and he still hasn’t apologized.
