  1. I'm at work with WGR in my ear (in Virginia Beach - thank God for smart phones) and refreshing this thread every 30 seconds. I would love to see the productivity of Bills fans across the country today.

I was about to say the exact same thing, except with "Chapel Hill, NC" instead of "Virginia Beach."

I work at UNC, so everyone around me is going bananas over the NCAA tournament, bracket talk, etc. I'm like the anti-social kid in the corner, rocking back and forth, listening to WGR on my iPhone, about to break the F5 key on my keyboard.

LOL, I just realized this will probably be the first time in years I don't have a bracket, because I've been consumed by free agency. I don't even know who all the 1-seeds are, other than Syracuse and Carolina.

  2. a SHRED of hope?

meachem signed last night because jackson left for tampa and san diego had to move fast.

it does not impact the mario situation at all.

today, he wakes up, he gets taken to the ralph, we check him out, we ask him what it takes to get it done, he says something outlandish, we counter with an additional 5-10 million in upfront dollars from our original deal, presser at noon.

people worried about "he doesnt want to play in buffalo."

    its money.

we will spend whatever it takes to get him, we will not be outbid. if chicago offers more, if seattle offers more, if new england offers more, we will counter with more.

if, after that, he elects to play elsewhere for less, so be it.

nix did not counter the meachem offer, because he's a smart gm. you don't break the banks for meachems.

"Shred" may be a bit dramatic, but you get my point. Also, agreed re: Meachem. We can find a 600-yard receiver deep in the draft. We ain't gonna find an instant world-class pass rush quite so easily.

  3. Anyone know where Mario lives in the offseason? I know he played college in Raleigh at NC State. Sorry, I can't resist the following. A Gulfstream charter Jet from BUF to Raleigh is scheduled to land in 12 minutes. Return flight is leaving Raleigh at 4:36 and scheduled to land in BUF at 5:48pm. It's too perfect,

Jeez, that is totally plausible. He is FROM North Carolina, I know that. I'm at UNC, but I can poke around with some people I know at State to find out if Mario still lives in NC.

  4. One thing that makes me wonder about VJax... It seems to me since arriving, both Chan and Buddy like "character" guys. I think they've even mentioned that from time to time. For the most part, our best players seem to be pretty stand-up guys, right?

For example, Marshawn had his run-ins with the law, and he's gone. I don't even know if other guys on the roster have criminal records, and I'm not even saying it matters. I'm a huge believer in paying your debt to society and being able to move on. I guess my point is... With VJax's contract holdout and DUIs, do you think that would affect how Buddy and Chan look at him?

  5. Does anyone know what the cost is for tickets in the upper deck, preferrably between the 30's but anywhere up top would be ok as long as it isn't in the corners?

I had seasons between '85 and '96 in N3 but moved to the Orlando area in '96. I still live there and might be able to travel up to 2 or 3 games.

    Go to http://getbillstickets.com/

There's a great interactive seating chart that shows prices and the view for each section.

  6. Longsnapper.

After that, a real pass rusher. A genuine pass rush makes everything look better. Takes pressure off the rest of the d line, gets our whole defense off the field quicker and lets the offense dictate the pace of the game, and not have to chuck it downfield constantly trying to catch up.

  7. I like it. He didn't get on the field much, but I've listened to him a good bit on XM radio this past year, he is (or was?) co-hosting some show with Rob Dibble. Smart dude, good veteran presence, definitely the type to be a leader. With a year under his belt, he's a no-brainer to bring back, and at a good price.

Good stuff happening... I love how we're heading into FA and the draft not having to scramble to fill any holes made by recent key departures. We're gonna build, and we're gonna add depth. Go Bills!

  8. If you follow baseball you know the Yankees have been managing payroll religiously to avoid a really severe luxury tax that was implemented this year.

I do, and I did see that. I just assume most Yankee fans are too dumb to understand. :D

    /ducks, runs away

Seriously though, as a similarly built TE and coach, I wonder if Metz will be able to help bring Chandler along?

  9. For all of you they want a roof on the stadium....have you ever attended a game inside a dome? I have been to a couple and it was the worst experience for me. I hated it. Just didn't feel right.

That is absolutely true. I was at the Bills game in the Georgia Dome a few years ago, my first football game inside. Holy crap, it was awful in there. It felt and sounded like watching a game in a warehouse. That weird roof on the place that lets in a very diffuse kind of sunlight, it looked like the game was under fluorescent light. Blech.

  10. I personally like the snow games. Sometimes they can be a little miserable but me personally I like it. Once I'm in the stadium and the game is going im not cold

Snow games are fun. It's the bitter cold windy days when it's too cold to snow that suck. Like that Pats/Bills game the day after Xmas in 2010. Holy crap, that was cold. Of course, it was my first winter game since moving to NC 6 years ago, so my lack of exposure to the cold for all that time probably made it worse. Oh, and getting our asses handed to us by Belicheat and the Amazing Backup from Michigan didn't help either.

  11. It may very well be a sign of things to come. I remember last year he came to pro day here at UNC and they ended up going heavy on Carolina guys, Searcy and White, plus two udfas (who ultimately got cut anyway) Pianalto and... the other name escapes me.

GMs don't go to look at guys that might be picked in the later rounds. First & second rounds...yup. Anything later than that and a GM can't be 'bothered' too many options. So, which of the players who worked out today do you think he was looking at? (that's why only 3 GMs showed up)

Well, again, Nix was here at UNC for pro day last year. They didn't get any Carolina guys early, but I believe Carolina did have the most players drafted of any school. So, like someone said above, if Bama's got 10+ potential draftees, a GM probably does consider it a good use of his time to check it out, figuring they're all worth a look and we may very well end up with a few of them. Especially given his comments about "respecting" the draft board and "best talent available."
