Detroit took WR's in the first round for several years in a row and were awful.
Then they (and we) started drafting DL in the first round, and magically now things are turning things around.

He looks better on a limited number of plays, but doesn't seem like a feature back.
He does apparently get a lot of defensive attention though, as broken down in that Nelson game winning play.

Gotta admit I wanted Clabo - not at obscene money, but thought the Bills really needed a RT. Obviously, I was very wrong.
Everyone wanted Clabo... the interesting thing is, would we be 3-0 if we got him?

Not that this makes the Bills any better but there are many teams with O-Line problems. The Eagles just recently decided on their starting C and RT. Their depth is not great also.
Aren't the Eagles starting two rookies on their OL?

Best case, they start Cassel, and Dareus gives him the Sports Science treatment.
I guess we will find out if opponents really are afraid of our pass rush.

Williams, Merriman, Dareus. Simple as that. If all healthy, these three will cause fits for the Chiefs, be in their backfield, and disrupt the flow of their offense. The Chiefs will search for ways to dismantle this trio to little avail.
They are, Weapons of Mass Destruction.

Take the lead, stop the run and force KC to throw with an inexperienced QB.

He's the hybrid backup who can play ILB or OLB in a pinch. Chix seems to like position flex in their backups.

It's hard to give a team that's shown nothing for the past decade the benefit of the doubt... not to mention we traded our top wideout and ignored the offensive line.
Those were our first TD's of the preseason, but they looked good last night.
I hope it carries over.

Practices are now closed to reporters, I would assume that would include Chris Brown.
Fair point, but apparently other people noticed our first round pick on crutches... seems like it would be a big deal.
He has a blog entry on it now, but I can't help think they are downplaying the severity.
I certainly hope it is just a bruise.

I think it's more than that... when a scrub WR that nobody cares about leaves practice early, Chris Brown is quick to report it...

Bills looked very good last preseason and so did Trent Edwards. He was cut by week three and the Bills went to 0-8. Of course you want to see good things, but not seeing them is no guarantee they will be terrible when the season starts, just like them doing well would be no guarantee it would continue when the season started.
I don't think the Bills looked good last preseason either... didn't the first team struggle to score touchdowns for weeks?
I was optimistic until I saw this game. Bet the under on the Vegas line if anything at all happens to Merriman

Frankly, our D could definitely use that kind of intensity.
They swagged like a formidable Steelers D.

I don't know how many times CJ ran into his own players and missed blocks.
Meanwhile for Denver, McGahee's line gets blown up, but he waits for the blocks to develop and busts a big gain off a play that should have been a loss.

- CJ Spiller was AWFUL. If he wasn't running into the QB or his lineman, he was clueless doing nothing while blitzers waltzed into the backfield. I'm not drafting him in Fantasy Football, I'll say this.
- We are doomed if anything bad happens to Merriman
- Denver's defense came out blasting us and we just kind sat around like pansies taking it. In baseball, if someone throws at your guy. You throw one at their best player's head. Sorry, but we should have taken a QB's head off. We looked like children getting bullied out there... it was pathetic.
- Do we miss Lee Evans yet?
- Our DL is getting good penetration, but they gotta shed some blocks and make some plays. Willis McGahee looked like Marshall Faulk.
- Our blocking was embarrassing... was that really our #1 unit out there? If I performed that badly at work, i'd be fired.

Let's cut symbiant some slack. He was just saying that Miller looked like the one passed over instead of Dareus who we all predicted would have a "make Denver pay for passing on him game."

Good one. the Bills never had a chance to take him.
Ok so I was playing off the DAREUS hype of "I'm gonna make them pay."
CLEARLY if I watched the game in isolation, Von Miller and the Broncos defense were the ones that looked like they had a chip on their shoulder instead. The Broncos were headhunting and bloodthirsty. We looked like pansies.
Dareus held his own, but the intensities of the defense was NO contest.

Denver drafted ahead of us & took VM, so how did the Bills pass over him ?? Is this a religious thing or something ??
That was my point... he looked like he was out to prove something as if he had a chip. He definitely didn't make Denver look bad passing Dareus.

With the excellent way we draft late, we would be such a better team if we didn't mess up our early picks so much.
Heck we could use Kiper's draft board and we'd be so much better.
